I have a relative that collects NFTs who had the audacity to tease me about my headphone collection. This was last thanksgiving and I'm still annoyed by it.
You just gotta say that your collection has things of tangible value that would easily be worth something years down the road, unlike being willingly scammed by jpgs lol
I’ll definitely take-up the tube amplifier suggestion, whenever I use my HD6XX. Also, I will probably grab a pair of your VEGAN earpads for my Audeze headphones. 🎧
Thanks for the album recommendation. Mountainhead was such a pleasure to listen to. You should make a artist/album recommendation video some time, DMS!
really like this video, and one with resolve would be great, but I am the only one thinking why there isn't Hifiman headphones in there? It's crazy that not a single of them was the egg shaped hifiman Arya or He1000? What is the reason behind that?
I can't help it but to think about Pavement when I see this guy... "Go back to those GOLD SOUNDZ, and keep my advent to yourself Because it's nothing I don't like Is it a crisis or a boring change?" 🎶🎶
I had 45ish when I recently started selling them so about 30 at the moment. Most just bought used for a great price and are sold for a small profit. There's so many direct comparisons to make that I need many time and time again to better understand the differences.
Now do his two sets of IEMs. On Bathys battery replacement, it’s really about charge cycles. These don’t churn through their charge cycles anywhere near as quickly as TWS do. Aside from heavy daily power Bathys users, it’ll be many, many years before battery degradation occurs on the Bathys for the vast majority of listeners. My Sony XM4 are 4 years old and have shown no signs of battery degradation.
So many headphones to boggle the mind. I still think my best listening headphones are my Sundara introduced at AXPONA for $300, my IFI CAN amp in the 12 DB position to correct the bass, and the Dekoni Fenerated pads. Good for 2 hours for comfort. Best Sennheiser dynamic ever made was the 414 with flat on the ear pads. But the remake later sounded terrible for some reason. And sad after 40+ years, one channel is out. The Sundara for my budget which could not afford the Audeze 3 and 4. The AT 50 were nice headphone when they came out and were a reasonable price and loved for musicans monitoring their recordings during studio sessions. None in the headphone guru's collections. While on the ear, for short term listening and testing of equipment, the EMU Walnut hand selected are cool. Each pair slightly different depending on its walnut. Never seen it on guru walls either.
I'm more of an IEM guy (Aful P5 + Fiio KA11 and some EQ tweaks with Wavelet to clean up the sound a little and I gotta say, I couldn't be happier. But I do see the appeal to over-ears and I respect it😊
I’m an audiophile. I got a lot of headphones. But still I have never heard the 6xx or any other of the 600 series. I went straight for the 800S. Lol honestly I wanna try these now…. And surprisingly I dont like bathys at all xD for me the city trips and flights go to B&O H95s
I have tinnitus and treble sensitivity in the 4k region. I love all the headphones that have a dip in that region. The idea that these are bad headphones is obviously related to how the listener hears. It would be great if audio reviewers could provide a profile of their own hearing so we can better understand their reviews. Nobody has neutral hearing and charts are only part of the story.
GoldenSound, DMS, how would the ZMF Atrium Closed rank when compared to the DCA E3 and ZMF Bokeh? The Bokeh was mentioned in comparison, but I may be looking at the Atrium Closed in the future. Would you guys say it's one of the best closed back headphones money can buy?
The two sony headphones here when using the same exact pads are not that different in tonality except for the cd900st being more refined. Those STpad2s are what make them sound hideous. I am actually using the cd900st right now they actually sound quite good using the sony 7506 genuine stock pads. I bought both cans recently and bought the yaxi stpad2 ,stpad dx, stpad microfiber, wicked cushions 7506 pads, and waiting for three different brainwavz pads just to satisfy my curiosity in trying all those pads with both the 7506 and the cd900st.
I love how they say don't get Bayerdynamic, I agree that they may not be the best but not everyone in the hobby can drop 2k on a headphone. I would love a Atrium or Tungsten but happy I have something I can enjoy for now. I do agree though the 6XX is a gem of a headphone but does lack some punch and stage.
well, you can do better if you have money to spend on beyers. but don't worry too much, whatever is popular now won't be popular in 5 years anyway. strangely it's related to companies having to sell their latest models, what a surprise. spend more time listening to your music and less time listening to your equipment.
Ooh! I have a pair of the DCA E3s, and that headband is not comfortable. However, I would like to try that headband cushion that is shown in the B-clip of the E3 segment. Anyone know which that is?

Wondering no one compares sound to how it actually is likely in the recording studio? Reviewers not that active in live environments? Some speaker reviews describe the absolute sound compared to the system at nhand. Like how close the piano or guitar sounds in the recording studio to the headphone or system. When I call the reviewer who says the sound is as good as it gets and asks really like the real thing in your listening room, response is real is real still. But how close are we? Iem still stuck in your head headphones usually a foot around your head except I heard ear speakers sound field was much more than open backs.
@ChrisStoneinator Actually that's the whole point of audiophile recordings. That's where all the terminologies come from recreating an acoustic event see Harry Pearson of Absolute Sound creating these terminologies to describe fidelity compared to actual instruments being recorded. I think it's about expertise or lack thereof. You need to really immerse yourself in live music to compare. You cant do that at home but only in music rooms with live musicians. Find that easy growing up with live music played around. And works as an absolute reference. You get a recording of a musician playing a piano Bosendorfer how can you critic absolute fidelity if you're not intimately familiar with how such piano sounds in real life?
