I'm pretty sure he's just supposed to have the one, but because they just flip the image, he gets one on each cheek. LOL. Oh man I still tear up when Kirkis drops the ring to the ground. It's such a big scene for this game, and introducing the lovers Stars.
Nothing is ever simply black or white in Suikoden, whether it be through the influence of the 27 True Runes or through the ambition of men. Just remember that as a leader that not everything is how it appears on the surface and that forgiveness is a virtue of the brave 😏.

Oh my. This is my first time watching a Suikoden playthrough, and I've got to say, I love how it has battles of all different scales, from large scale battles between armies, to small brawls with party members, to duels. I really dig that. My only criticism is that the rock-paper-scissors thing is a bit more RNG than I like, but I suppose I shouldn't expect a full-blown strategy minigame from a PS1 RPG. I like how it involves all of your party members too!
Suikoden 1 and 2 are definitely worth checking out, especially since they're super cheap to pick up on PSN. S1 does have more rough edges than S2 though 😎.
Mathiu has such iconic quotes lmao I'm always happy to see new episodes of this! Also just a note for Kuromimi, at the very least he is good for his high luck stat which can help you out when playing chinchirorin, along with Meg who also has a high luck stat and with the other kobold we get later on.

I've always loved these army battles in Suikoden. Maybe it's the Fire Emblem fan in me, but it feels very realistic with its head counts and complex strategies. Also, I find it interesting that, despite having his job mistranslated as surgeon, Mathiu is correctly listed as a Strategist in the army battles.
I'm really enjoying the series so far! I hope when this series finally wraps up I'll use this playlist as a sort of walkthrough and companion to playing myself. Then jump into 2!

Cutting some but not all battles makes this pretty enjoyable. It's also showing me I forgot a lot about Suikoden I compared to the other games. But I don't own the first two so it's harder to replay them, this playthrough is a perfect solution.

Something I discovered through training is that the Devil Shields drop something called a Chaos Shield. Spent some time hunting for them for all of my shield wielders until I got tired of it. Still, leveled up some peeps, and got money to outfit them and increase their weapons to level 6.
What way are you playing the game? Console, PSN etc? I want to drag out my copy and play on PS3 because I don't know if my PSX memory card holds saves anymore. Darn. Love you playthrough so much, Lucah. I need to watch your S2 LP as well!
I got my ass handed to me so many times in this and people can die in the first battle I sent my merchants in because I had no idea wtf I was doing and some died :/ but after my 5th try I won and in my most recent major battle I didn't lose a single unit I was so proud of myself. Also I'm so glad you said that Accessory is good because I spent like an hour trying to get it.
