I'm even formulating a party I want to include, haha. I really like the Suikoden games for focusing more on armies, dynasties, tactics, and alliances than most fantasies--it makes it feel like a more realistic world. It's almost like the Game of Thrones world but significantly less grim. By the way, thank you so much for all your videos! I've been a regular follower for over four years now and I've enjoyed watching all sorts of your LPs, including catching up on ones before my time. You're my favorite LPer by far and I know you'll have wonderful content for us in the future. :D
I love that about Suikoden too. I love the recruitment of your army, down to the smallest person. I love how there's strategy army battles as well and how it's not just a fantasy adventure but a political one too. Suikoden has that little bit of everything that makes it great. I recommend ALL of the games. Even the one for the DS which is different, but still fun and good in its own way. But 1 and 2 are the classics.
For those who have money issues, the way I handled it was by playing dice. Get people with high luck in your party and play dice. If you can manage to win several times in a row and bet your winnings each time you'll max out your money pretty easy. However, you should save before, it's just as easy to lose all your money. On average it took me about 10 min to max it out, though sometimes it took way longer and several resets. Doing this really helps when outfitting people whom you have yet to use.
I will keep saying this every time Lucah thinks she needs to go out and grind money on the map once you have your fourth black smith in your castle. YOU DO NOT NEED TO LEAVE YOUR CASTLE ONCE YOU GET YOUR FOURTH BLACK SMITH TO LEVEL EVERYONE'S WEAPONS. Chinceron works like compounding interest, which means that the money you make when you win gets added to the pot. This means if you bet the maximum money and get 3 or 4 storms in your favor your money is maxed out. It may take some resets but it's infinitely faster to level your weapons in this manner compared to grinding out money by monsters.
The reason I don't rely on Chinchirorin is because I have the WORST luck doubling down. I barely ever get even the second win, nevermind 3 or 4. I definitely recommend it for people that have time to save/reset!

So I caught up to the LP and have an important question to ask: Will Viktor return before meeting the last star of destiny? I learned that he, Krin and Kasumi aren't counted among your army when they leave. I found this out the hard way after beating Neclord because I forgot to get Lester. Did I screw myself out of the best ending?
Viktor dose return before getting the last star. Not sure if you can go back and get Lester and Moose, I WANT to say you can, but I'm not 100% on that. If you can't, than yes you can't get the best ending.
Lester and Moose I can definitely get back, but this helps immensely already. Heck, by the time Viktor comes back I can upgrade the castle and get the stars Lucah got in this episode. Thanks!
That's good I have have another save file at Neclord's Castle so if wasn't possible to get it back I was going to use that and now thankfully I don't have to make another two trips through that place.
okay i need to ask and i hope SOMEONE replies: i want to play a sukiden game, but ive seen a lot of this game so its to late for me to buy it and stop watchig this...could i just buy sukiden 2 and play that without doing this? its what i did with danronpa so i assume it'll work?
You can play and enjoy Suikoden 2 without having played this, watching this LP would at least let you recognize some of the returning characters and events that get referenced, but you would miss a nice easter egg if you don't upload a suikoden 1 save when you start 2.
i dont really care about that TBH :| More just wanting to try the series out...i have like 8 games to beat still so it'd be a while before i play that...then the thing is to play suikoden 3 and onwards, they arent on the vita (To my knowledge?) so i'd need to buy a whole new system....
This is blasphemous, but...Pesmerga...kinda overrated. Really slow, poor magic skills. The character has zero substance. Compared to his foe Yuber, it's not even a close call. Yuber is an overall better fighter and a far more well written and well developed character.

When you have less than 200 bits it actually triggers a small cut scene where Tir, Humphrey and Flik have to wash up all the dishes at the Inn!
