So awesome you have bun cha in Melb, we don't have it in Auckland as far as I can remember. So good when we had it in Sydney though then loved it in Vietnam 🤤😍 Vietnam and Hanoi is such a cool place, really enjoyed our time there 🙂👍
Cha ca is the dish that got away for us when we went because of our short stay. Sounds absolutely incredible with the turmeric and then the dill shooting through. Can’t get enough of that dill! 🤤

Yes guys! Hanoi is the best spot in VN for food IMO. Bun Cha is like my second favorite dish, so cool that you got to go to the Obama spot! I've never been to that restaurant. Also egg coffee is life! But don't get trapped, those things have hella calories. I put on like 2 kg in Hanoi and I'm pretty sure it was all the egg coffee I was having!
Yea really enjoyed the food there! I love bun cha and that Cha Ca so good! Oh and the banh cuon too 😋🤤 making myself hungry hahaha that egg coffee was so unique! Lolll we got more addicted to the coconut coffees though but thank goodness we walked heaps.. kept our weight in check I reckon 😆

Anything that's decent to eat costs $7 - $10 here and you guys are wolfing down home cooked traditional dishes with morning purchased ingredients food for about $3 a piece in VN. Hope you enjoyed VN. The bun cha def was incredible! The dry pho gotta say I wasn't much of a fan (Yen here) was just a bit too bitter for me and beef too chewy but the locals seemed to dig it 😅 definitely prefer soup pho! 🙂

The bun cha is nice too but I think it is the memory of Bourdain, Obama and the show that makes that one extra special. But right now I think we're good fooded out 😂😂😂 been on a 9 day binge and we've definitely packed a few extra kilos on here in Shanghai.
Haha we tend to always go for places with high ratings or has been recommended to us so often the food is really good but yes lol there's definitely been a few occasions where one or both of us might not enjoy the meal so much so rather than just saying something is bad we don't show much excitement/enjoyment for it and we describe the flavours coz how we see it is that you never know, what we think is bad other people might love it! We would say we prefer something else, or if it was cooked this other way instead or had this other flavour that we like more kinda thing 🙂 and then there's durian 😂😂😂 if you get a chance to watch our Singapore legendary food episode a few videos back, I just couldn't handle coz I'm really not a fan 😅 Guessing you are though? 😉😁 My sister loves them though so it made for an entertaining segment! 🙂

It wasn't quite for me and was pretty much just like a regular beef hor fan but it was so busy and heaps of locals so maybe it's just me lol coz Peter found it alright too but definitely both agree soup pho is much better 😁✌️ the bun cha and eating at that place was so good! Definitely happy to tick off another life bucket item ☺️ egg coffee was so unique but somehow just worked and really enjoyed it. Coconut coffee is amazing too 😍👌

Yes guys! Hanoi is the best spot in VN for food IMO. Bun Cha is like my second favorite dish, so cool that you got to go to the Obama spot! I've never been to that restaurant. Also egg coffee is life! But don't get trapped, those things have hella calories. I put on like 2 kg in Hanoi and I'm pretty sure it was all the egg coffee I was having!
Yea really enjoyed the food there! I love bun cha and that Cha Ca so good! Oh and the banh cuon too 😋🤤 making myself hungry hahaha that egg coffee was so unique! Lolll we got more addicted to the coconut coffees though but thank goodness we walked heaps.. kept our weight in check I reckon 😆

Anything that's decent to eat costs $7 - $10 here and you guys are wolfing down home cooked traditional dishes with morning purchased ingredients food for about $3 a piece in VN. Hope you enjoyed VN. The bun cha def was incredible! The dry pho gotta say I wasn't much of a fan (Yen here) was just a bit too bitter for me and beef too chewy but the locals seemed to dig it 😅 definitely prefer soup pho! 🙂

@@PeterandYen had to go not because of Bourdain… but based on P&Y’s food tour😁… plus, any dish that’s life changing, had to try.. cha ca was also on my list of things to try, so ended up going to the place you guys recommended… the bun cha was excellent, but the cha ca got the win for me.. the turmeric and dill combo is what got me wanting to try the dish, and it did not disappoint… thanks for awesome food recs!!

Haha we tend to always go for places with high ratings or has been recommended to us so often the food is really good but yes lol there's definitely been a few occasions where one or both of us might not enjoy the meal so much so rather than just saying something is bad we don't show much excitement/enjoyment for it and we describe the flavours coz how we see it is that you never know, what we think is bad other people might love it! We would say we prefer something else, or if it was cooked this other way instead or had this other flavour that we like more kinda thing 🙂 and then there's durian 😂😂😂 if you get a chance to watch our Singapore legendary food episode a few videos back, I just couldn't handle coz I'm really not a fan 😅 Guessing you are though? 😉😁 My sister loves them though so it made for an entertaining segment! 🙂

This place where Obama ate was not that good. Actually, I have eaten this dish from Saigon to Hanoi. I think Saigon made it better even though it is from Hanoi.
