  • Hue is home to Vietnam's Royal specialty dishes. Flavours uniquely crafted and once only available for the elite and powerful are now available for everyone to try.
    First up we try the regional specialty noodle of Hue called Bun Bo Hue from a secret shop which is only open for a few hours in the morning everyday known only to the locals.
    Address:
    Chè Hẻm, 1 kiệt, 29 Hùng Vương, Phú Hội, Thành phố Huế, Thừa Thiên Huế, Vietnam
    Hours: Monday - Sunday 6:30 am - 8:30am
    Next up is a famous restaurant in Hue that is loved by locals and tourists alike. We couldn't miss an opportunity to visit Hanh Restaurant in Hue, Vietnam. We ordered another famous regional noodle called Bún Thịt Nướng and a tasty snack dish called Banh Loc.
    Address: 11 Đường Phó Đức Chính, Phú Hội, Tp. Huế, Phú Hội, Vietnam
    Hours: Monday - Sunday 9AM-9:30PM
    At this point the rain started pouring down but that doesn't deter us from our food journey so we can share with you guys what to eat in Hue, Vietnam. We go and try all the different Bun delicacies from:
    Gốc Bánh Bèo Bà Cư
    Address: Kiệt 148 - Nguyễn Huệ, Phú Nhuận, Tp. Huế, Thừa Thiên Huế, Vietnam
    Before we decided to call it a day we tried a popular place that sells Com Hen a mussel rice dish that cost less than a dollar.
    Cơm hến Hoa Đông
    Address: 64 kiệt 7 Ưng Bình, Vỹ Dạ, Thành phố Huế, Thừa Thiên Huế, Vietnam
    Hours: Monday - Sunday 7AM-10PM
    Yen's love for Banh Xeo is never ending and when she heard that in Hue there is a special version called Banh Khoai we had to try it. Banh Khoai is very different flavour-wise compared to Banh Xeo and also has a royal factor to it. Banh Khoai Hong Mai is conveniently located not too far from Hue's imperial city attraction.
    Bánh khoái Hồng Mai
    Address: 110 Đinh Tiên Hoàng, Phú Hậu, Thành phố Huế, Thừa Thiên Huế, Vietnam
    Hours: Monday - Sunday 7:30AM-9:30PM

      @PeterandYen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ooo what's it's made with normally? It's so yum really loved it especially together with the sauce and even the motion of cutting it out of that like saucer lol

    • @DecrepitBiden
      @DecrepitBiden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PeterandYen Normally, in the south (Saigon aka HCMC) it's made with soy bean paste, tiny fried shrimp, scallions (look at any other banh beo cooking vidoes). Vietnam has 3 different regions, Hanoi(north), Hue(middle), & Saigon(south). The 3 regions differ in speech & cooking. I was born in Saigon, now live in the USA, and I have NEVER had banh beo with pork skin in my 50 years. Even all the Viet restaurants in Los Angeles, CA, USA makes them Saigon style. Hope this helps.

    Thank YOU for sharing your wonderful food experiences of Hue. My grandmother, who grew up within the Citadel walls (her name would designate her line of royalty) had made all these dishes for us when I was child. I swear to God she can put out the bestest pot of BBH, and banh năm (the thin rice rectangles wrapped in banana leaves, then flatten out thin), that I’ve EVER tasted ANYWHERE! Very authentic, and the best ones are homemade. I’m headed there next week with my daughter, to show her the birthplace of our ancestors, and to have a taste of the royal dishes & desserts. Will certainly check out your recommended places featured here, and hope that they’re still open. I’ve also subscribed as well. What a cute couple you are, not annoying like some of the others. 😍

    Hey guys. That first dish isn’t Bun Bo Hue. It looks like Bun Rieu Cua. Bun bo hue is beef noodles. Bun rieu cua is crab pork noodle soup with all the bits and blood cakes.(my favorite)😁. Love the videos!!!

    • @PeterandYen
      @PeterandYen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hiya! 🙂👋 The slices I had could've been beef not pork, was a bit hard to tell. I don't think it was bun rieu cua though even though they added the crab bits as well...(love that dish too!) Our Airbnb host that recommended the place was a Vietnamese local and that place specialized in bun bo hue plus it's what we ordered so sure hope it was one haha 😆 Maybe we need to go back to Hue 😂 Thanks heaps and hope you'll enjoy the other videos we have in store 😁✌️ Fingers crossed we can actually upload next week's.. we're currently in China and have run into VPN issues unfortunately 😅 Hopefully it'll get resolved soon 🤞

    I am Vietnamese, I appreciate the taste of dishes in central and northern Vietnam such as Hue, Hanoi, Lang Son, Da Nang, Nha Trang ... most of the dishes here are in harmony. protein, and the important thing when traveling is that you have to go to places where there are a large number of indigenous people in order for the taste to be distinctly regional, while in the south most dishes are sweet and less spicy. That is the minus point of the southern dish (but there is very delicious southern broken rice dish) you want to discover Vietnamese cuisine, you must visit Hue, Hanoi to enjoy Hue beef noodle soup, pho, spring rolls, cakes. There are many delicious noodle shops and bread shops, so you should choose prestigious places and long-term businesses that are evaluated by locals.
