Finally. Not droopy, nor hooty or boring. I like the vibrated registers and the attention to the middle lower and real trills. Many fake all of that and live in the legato far too much. It is not easy this aria...with this high soprano it takes focus as it dips lower but really she did work it to success. The orch was alive for once, the tempi well accented. All too often this piece becomes somulant and dart gun tranquilizer nightmare. I have seen people snooze in audiences. This was alive sung with a girlish flair and a strong open top. Brava. Thank you.
It's lovely to hear the old instruments in this conservative performance - quite a rare opportunity. Ms Stapleton has a lovely, light soprano voice which she handles with style in this restrained performance. Quite a pleasure.
So do I, but I do not agree that MISS Stapleton should be called a ms , because she is not a ms, and if she is married, then she is a MRS, and if she is single then she is a MISS, and if one does not know if she is married or single, then the correct word is MISS, period 🎉
Effortless singing...so difficult! Very beautiful. The period instruments really add a lot. Lovely ornamentation. I like the space before the singing begins where she is clearly "interacting" with Julius.
young, beautiful, one the eyes of Caesar would have been instabrtly enchanted by seeing at his magisterium. entranced by her naked submissive voice and probably the most beautiful scene music ever composed. Haendel. I prefer Bevely Sills overall, but I an a devotee of of Megan, je adoro
A very fine performance and this beautiful aria is sung with elegance and superb precision. I heard renditions that are a little too "opulent" or "ornamented" but here Megan nails it. Well done!
Dążmy więc do doskonałości. Serdecznie pozdrawiam z Bydgoszczy.
I agree that my tempo is a tick slower than my taste would prefer in this recording. Keep in mind that this is a one-time chamber ensemble of excellent grad students who are yet learning and growing, and who were only in a position to rehearse together a couple of times before recording. A lot goes into these things. We were all thankful for the opportunity to have this musical moment together.

And I do believe that she is a living queen and a living doll ❤😊

It's supposed to be a restrained piece of music look at Montserrat caballe in the opera 🥰

Lovely voice, but why is she singing a dirge? Can she possibly sing any slower? Sounds like Karajan’s version of baroque performance … TOO SLOW.

Cierto, ésta es un oratorio barroco, para una orquesta de cámara.
