In listening to Amanda perform this brilliant piece, it brought tears to my eyes because when I was 5 years old, (I am 74 as of this writing) my late mother who was a amazing Colacatrua Soprano use to sing this very piece among others of Handel.
My father was a baroque choir singer, and performed allover Europe. He died at 84, 5 years ago. When i hear baroque music, i can always hear his bass tone, this brings me to tears. Baroque music filled our house from my birth. I can relate to what you wrote, brain makes connection, and it is painful sometimes to go thru them later. But so beautiful. 😂❤

Liked Olivier Brault. Fabulous dressed. To dare it, wow. The chain watch, glasses, hair and ribbon, the ribbon around his collar too. Love it. Fits to the music style. Amanda is of course outstanding, with a crystal clear vivid voice. Mastering this extremely difficult piece with ease, great joy, flirting and artistry. A pleasure to hear and watch her. It's unbelievable that this is the first time I've ever heard this amazingly beautiful voice of Amanda Forsyth!! I immediately shared this with my sister and she with her children. We are a blessed musical family and now are blessed again with Amanda!!!

Sills' ornaments are gorgeous, but it seems to lose some of the form -- as though measures are cut or added here and there to make room for the crazy (albeit beautiful) ornamentation, where Forsythe keeps Handel's form and improvises over it without losing the harmonic shape of the aria.
I love German composers like Beethoven, Brahms, Bach and especially Handel! Mrs. Amanda Forsythe is perfect for Handel arias, there is probably no better soprano for Handel arias at the moment, maybe the extraordinary Regula Mühlemann, who has the potential to become one of the best sopranos!

I feel fortunate to live near Boston where she is a favorite with the Boston Early Music Festival and with Boston Baroque. This past weekend I saw her perform as Poppea with Anthony Roth Constanzo as Nerone. It was absolutely fabulous! She has been wonderful in every performance I’ve seen.

Sills, for example, is way too much for my ears - to me her ornamentation, although undeniably beautiful, has pretty much everything but a kitchen sink. I first listened to Julia Lezhneva singing this same piece and was very much impressed when I heard Amanda Forsythe. They both have wonderful voices.
Yes, Julia with her wonderful runs and resonant legato lines. Both Julia and Amanda are exceptional singers. Crisp articulation, never rushed nor slurred; like the double tonguing of a flutist. Love their lightness of touch. Bravissimo!

I feel fortunate to live near Boston where she is a favorite with the Boston Early Music Festival and with Boston Baroque. This past weekend I saw her perform as Poppea with Anthony Roth Constanzo as Nerone. It was absolutely fabulous! She has been wonderful in every performance I’ve seen.
