MIFA 1862 mall, located in Pudong Disdrict, Shanghai, China.
Founded in 1862, Shanghai Shipyard, a shipyard with a history of more than 160 years, has been transformed into the mall.
In 2005, the shipyard was moved out of its entirety and opened in September 2018 as a 26,000 square metre mall, designed by world-class architect Kengo Kuma.Kengo Kuma has preserved the original shipyard structure, including the zigzagging chimneys and the geometric lines of the supports, preserving the beauty that comes with age.It has introduced businesses that include art and design joint workshops, galleries, art shops, high-end customisation, high-end car showrooms and river-view cultural restaurants.
This weekend, we came to visit MIFA 1862, it was a cloudy day with pleasant temperature, first we were surprised by its location right next to Huangpu River, and were shocked by the industrial style architecture inside the mall!
