iFit Bootloop (No Unnecessary Dialogue)

- This treadmill shows the iFit logo, flashes to the android screen, then back to the iFit logo. Setting buttons are unresponsive. Typically you can stop the loop by drawing an arrow. A figure 8 on other models. Neither worked on this one. I was able to force stop iFit from loading, and from there reinstall iFit to get this Nordictrack treadmill going again.

Update: only lasted 2 days.. can't get it out of the loop now. going to see about an sd card. sigh
@charrie8549 bummer!!! Yeah, some need to be wiped from the root level. The card should get you going for sure!!

Exactly this. I'm surprised there wasn't a class action against NordicTrack for this. Clearly the app was broken, and clearly it can be easily fixed.
For some people you might have to uninstall the ifit program completely first and then run the file just as he explained and it will reinstall everything. The bug didn’t get completely removed for me so I uninstalled it and it worked. Thanks a lot for the helpful info.

This worked for my 2014 model! I’m glad you showed that you had to try to install twice.
My screen also turned off half way through so I turned the whole machine off/on. Then it continued reinstalling the patch.
I’ve turned off auto updates and will see if it works without internet at all. Thank you for this!

Someone on Next Door was giving one of these away (FS9i). Borrowed a friend and his truck, picked it up (my god it is heavy), dragged it into the house and plugged it in. WAHH, WAHH, WAHHHH! iFit keeps crashing and restarting. BOOO!

Awesome! Thank you! This fixed the software on my old ProForm treadmill screen that was stuck in a loop after a recent software update. My old treadmill doesn't have a "reset" pinhole that newer models have, so this was perfect!!!!!

A company that owns the treadmill will program yourtreadmill to crash and tell you that it's discontinued and they will not send you a SD card

Just bought a used nordictrack today. Everything worked perfectly so i connected to the internet and it updated. Sure enough i toasted the treadmill because i updated it. This video saved me!!
Question, if auto update is turned on, will it try to update and liop again? Should i not update ever again?

This still works 2/10/2024. Only problem is it runs a program in the background and hits doubleclick sites for unknown reasons. It fixed my reboot problems but I have to run the machine in a isolated network as I'm not sure what else was loaded in during this install.
That's really strange!! Maybe try again and hope for the best. If it doesn't work, ifit sells the SD card that you can reprogram it with from the root level

Thank you for the video i got the bootloop to stop. The only thing is the buttons are unresponsive to going back or home screen. Maybe the screen just needs replaced?

Worked like a charm, but came back the next day. Had to do it again...was slightly different...but ultimately worked again. My son the XC runner is using it now. Is this just a daily activity now? I will do it to save $2K+ for a bit. I had to uninstall iFit first each time. Anyone else having it go back into the loop daily?

Hello, can anyone guide me to mounting my sd card back? somehow I unmounted the sd card and i can't mount it back up to be able to proceed with the ifit download
I got to the end of the apk install. It tells me "success...please wait while ifit reboots" then freezes.
I've had this issue where it takes a few tries sometimes

I am still having a loop after doing this method exactly several different times and also hard restarting as well. Any advice? It says that I have successfully downloaded and rebooted the software, but it still loops for me to no avail.
Yes....I have another video on reprogramming a console with a micro SD card. You will need to go that route to reprogram it from the root level. Same process as this:

Mine never goes to home screen now and only gives 2 options: silent mode and power off. Anyone also experiences the same issue? Any suggestions?
Great info; thanks! I have that same model as in the video; do you know where the SD card is located? I believe mine is either unseated or faulty. I assume in the console and not the controller?
If you're getting the "sd not mounted" error... you'll be bummed out when you don't find one there. The touch screen is basically a tablet, and if you open the console, you'll find the sd slot on the bottom side of the tablet. You can contact ICON and order a reprogramming card that should get you going again. I have a video coming up soon reprogramming an elliptical, which will be the same process.

@@weiknot you'll need the card to full on reprogram it from the root level.... what i did on the video was reinstall the operating system. I've attempted to locate the software online to make my own card, but was unsuccessful (if you locate it please please let me know😉). The reprogramming card is machine specific.

The micro SD card is a classic one.... however you do have to get one directly from icon with software specific to your model
But the machine told me the SD IS break, what do i need ?

Yes. I've mix matched SD cards many times. You want an SD card for an icon (or ifit) elliptical that has the same incline and resistance specs as yours. It will work. Your machine will then think it's whatever model you just bought an SD card for is the only thing, which affects nothing.

Does someone know how to access the android screen once the iFit program has fully loaded? There are several videos for the newer Nordictrack treadmills with the larger screens but there aren’t any videos for the older treadmills.

Go to the maintenance page, and draw a < in the upper portion of the screen

You will need to purchase a reprogramming card and totally reboot it
