    Wait how did I get here?
    It does remind me I need to change the oil in my Honda CB600f. Good guy TH-cam, sending me to a good video.

    best video! Question, was it difficult to put the filter back in once filled with oil? Never seen that done, but definitely a good idea. Thanks

      No not really. Its more like presoaking but it helps minimise the time the engine is starved when first starting up.

    Good video. I'm going to change the first time the oil on my '07 Hornet and I'm a little confused about how much oil I need. Would you please tell me how many liters of oil did you put? I read in some places that I need 2.8 liters (with oil filter change). Is this correct?

      Well it depends on how much you can get out of it. But yes that sound about right from memory. Just get the bike on level ground, hold it up right and fill until the oil is in the middle of the viewing window.
      Restart bike, then switch off and wait a couple on minutes.
      Check the level again and add if you need to.

    Good video! How Much momentum newton/meter does the oilplug needs?

    • @risc19
      @risc19  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think its 12Nm.

      +SVILEN RUSEV It's just some brake clean spray. It helps remove and oil so it doesn't smoke afterwards.

    Great vid but why spray brake cleaner in the block?

    • @risc19
      @risc19  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just around the block to clean the oil off. Not necessary, but I just hate oil burning off once you first warm her up. And thanks!

      ***** Interesting, just got my first big bike 09 Hornet and there is a burning smell when warming up and it's been bugging me I was literally sniffing around the bike but couldn't pinpoint it so it might be that. Next time I'll be sure to clean it. Cheers.

    Didn't you forget to take off the oil filler cap before draining the engine?
    PS nice vid

    • @risc19
      @risc19  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ruud de Beijer If the flow is restricted yes, but it wasn't. The breather on the engine allowed air in.

    Question
    Oil icon appeared on the dash, what does it mean?

    • @kawasjt
      @kawasjt 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      maybe I'm too late but normally it indicates low oil pressure (bad)

    • @like-icecream
      @like-icecream 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kawasjt It's only bad if it comes on during riding or idling, not during start up because it's a startup lamp check only I think.
