BT-42 (English subtitles)

Random Military History: BT-42.
BT-42 assault gun was developed during the Continuation War.
It was quite odd war-time project: Finns added self-made turret to captured Russian BT-7 chassis and armed it with British 4.5" howitzer.
As a combat weapon the BT-42 was almost useless. The unpopular tank had to be scrapped as soon as the war ended. One piece was spared for museum use.
The look of the light tank is unique. Relatively large and angular turret is crammed into the small hull, as well as a strange-looking howitzer. BT-42 was picked up in the Japanese "Girls und Panzer" manga and anime series.
Due to media visibility, the BT-42 is probably one of the most popular attractions of the Finish Armour Museum at the moment.
