  • The 2018 Microsoft Surface Pro 6 has been revamped this year. Is it the best 2 in 1 laptop on the market?

    With the new 8th gen processors from Intel, the new Surface Pro 6 has a BIG jump in processing capabilies but there are still some issues with the product category. The new black color is beautiful to see but PROTECT THAT THING. It shows scratches very easily!

      But why would you need the c port? I just bought a s9 and out of the box the charger cable is a reg usb to usb c. Plus, those devices aren't even fast enough to have a proper pci bandwidth.
      In this day and age, having type c ports only, means buying dongles ALWAYS. And honestly who is up to that.

    • @tiago7720
      @tiago7720 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@rickyricardo2006 type c is the modernised port. It's even way faster at charging and transmitting data. These companies who have their own ports just like the extra cash if you lose yours that's it. But look e.g. the charge time of the new iPhone and compare it to any of the type C port phones charge time. You'll see what I mean.

    Who really cares about USB-C on a computer like the Surface Pro? It is NOT a gaming computer. My MacBook has 4 USB C ports and after a year I have yet to find them useful. The are in fact a pain in the ass as you have to have a slew of dongle and adapters. If you want to do gaming then get a 10lbs “laptop” made for gaming. This is a great little computer for taking notes, using all of Office, plus a thousand more programs. The magnetic connector is a great thing and it is unfortunate that Apple gave them up - especially for almost no real gain.

And yes, That is what the customer wants, But where are the times when companies wanted to wow the customer with something never seen before, That particular mindset has vanished from the tech industry...Now its all about how to become the next trillionaire company.

      External GPU support, 120 Hz displays, insane CPU performance, Windows Hello etc. I think the industry is doing pretty good :)
      99% of things 'never seen before' become obsolete before they even hit the market. When you have some spare time, go watch one of those Home Shopping TV shows. Many of those products make you go wow, and they seem really useful and innovative, but most of them are solutions to a problem no one has, or gimmicks. They have to be sold to old naive people watching TV because their real-world application is useless. Innovation rarely takes big leaps. It's usually done in small steps. Compare the first computer ever with the second, and there seems to be hardly any difference. But compare the first one with the ones we have now, and they will surely make you go wow.
