I finally bought Solasta and now I am loving it ☺️ Bg3 as being my first dnd helped a bit to understand classes like barbarian, sorcerer and druid. Thank you, Wolfheart, also for the wonderful guide! ❤️
I love your channel and I love Solasta. I've been playing PC games since the 1980s and this game is one of the best I have ever played because strategy and a little thought make a huge difference in battles. Considering it was made by such a small company, it's a magnificent achievement.
Can't wait for some optimization especially on the lights and shadows and hopefully the remaining SRD classes (Sorcerer has already been confirmed), this game has some serious promise.
Excellent video about this great game. An important thing I noticed about Elves. When you are traveling, monsters will surprise your characters and catch them sleeping. The only character of mine that was awake was the elf (because of the Trance ability). He was then able to wake up the other characters.

Bg3....... still not done..... still not even released all the playable classes yet...... the release date on steam till says Oct 6, 2020....... Larian should be banned from ever making dnd games again.
I started playing this again for the 3rd time last week, not even realizing the release was SO close. I can't believe how many bugs they fixed and how much they added since early access. WotC should have given these developers full reign with 5e D&D rules IMO. They have done an amazing job with what they have to work with. So many things in Solasta that I wish were in BG3. I think Larian Studio's are afraid to slow down combat with adding things like : reaction choices (ie. shield or evade), readied actions (meelee, ranged or cantrips held until an enemy gets in range) or when the Paladin wants to use Smite or not on strike's - it feels GREAT, and I would prefer the choices to make combat so much more dynamic, and I don't find it slows it down at all once you get to know the abilities and how they work. This game is great - your work and attention to it are also great Wolf ! Much appreciated Sir !
@O K agree. having 2nd paladin instead of a rogue... i mean a 2 knights w/ greatswords & follow up feat. thats alot of smites in a single round compared to a single sneak attack that has conditions. god damn. pun intended XD
Wait, did they changed the face models? Anyway, great video wolf. Very detailed and good for people that are just starting on CRPGs. Also loved how organized and easy to watch this video is.
The dark slayer description is kinda confusing. The way it is framed it can be interpreted as either the enemy has a superior dark vision than the ranger, or the ranger has a superior dark vision over the creature...
Well, now I know what my first party is gonna be: Dwarf Lightning Cleric, Halfling Motherland Paladin, Human Loremaster Wizard and High elf Greenmage Wizard. It’s gonna be Ironman, permadeath run. Ty for the video!
To be fair I haven't played pen and paper DND in a very long time, last time I played it was edition 3.5, so yeah a long time ago... With that said, after seeing both Solasta and Pathfinder's character creation and whatnot, Pathfinder, despite being a spin off, seems a lot more similar to the DND I remember. Maybe it's just that 5th edition changed so much from the older ones, I don't know. But lacking basic classes like the Bard, Sorcerer, Druid and Barbarian is already quite shocking. As well as some vast differences in how some of the classes and especially sub-classes work. Green Mage for example seems completely out of whack to me, being a Druid and Ranger hybrid only as an arcane caster rather than divine, sure a nice concept but very foreign to the DND I know, but than again maybe it's a 5th edition thing. Also did 5th edition remove exotic weapons? I clearly remember those being a thing with a whole bunch of weapons being exotic, from Katanas and Sais to double edged swords and axes. Maybe I'm just a boomer but for a DND fan's wet dream I hardly recognize this DND version, but again maybe 5th edition was such a major overhaul to DND compared to the previous versions I'm more familiar with. Oh and what happened to races like Gnomes, Half Orcs, Wood Elves, etc?
Hey Owl. Solasta did not have a full license to D&D 5e hence why you don't see certain races & classes, and also why there are some weird subclasses. They were not allowed to include many things.
Nuance about Ritual Casting : Wizards have a different perk, because they do not need to Prepare a spell that has the Ritual tag. Clerics have to Prepare a Ritual spell do even just to the Ritual (which is sad).
I love the game. I'm looking forward to them releasing more options in the dungeon builder, being able to create your own dungeons for your friends to traverse is an amazing idea. Great video, now get to booting those halfling haters.

+1 to all Ability scores (Human) is actually rather powerful *if* you use the Standard Array or random rolls... but rather boring! That is why the Variant Human is often preferred (you get to chose a Feat and +2 to your Ability Scores). In Solasta, you can set your Ability Scores any way you like, so the player decides how to set their mixed party. // Personally, for tabletop, I use slightly more flexible racial bonuses similar to the one suggested in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. The player can sacrifice 1 Ability bonus to get a Minor Feat or 2 to get a normal Feat.

ayyy thanks alex. I think the devs wanted to give us a Dwarven variation to spice it up. Yes the greenmage is basically a ranger/druid without wildshape haha
While I love the number of options, I'm genuinely curious why there is even a ranger class when almost every other class has some sort of bow specialization? Like, you could go with a bow warrior, a green mage, and a bow-wielding rogue, and you don't need a ranger
Will you do a vid like this for Sorcerer, Druid, Barbarian, and Half-orc? They are all added to the game now, which is awesome, and it'd help a lot of new players, I think. There isn't enough YT coverage for this game. BG3 gets too much, and it's not even finished, lol.

thanks for watching Dark
I bought this in early access based on your play through. I want to encourage dev teams like this to make dnd style games. Great video as well.
Hope you are enjoying it mac. Yes, we must support devs like this for the future of crpgs!
Thanks for all the work you put into this video. Looking forward to seeing more Solasta content once the Sorcerer hits! ❤
Thanks a lot Donovan

thanks!!
This. Important if you want to dominate the action economy. Its odd that they don't have the feat listed it's Fleet of Feet.
It does list the sylvan elf with 7 cells of movement. It just doesn't call attention to it.
Amazing video Wolf! You always put so much time and effort into your videos and it shows, keep up the good work! 👍

Verticality can be annoying but it hasn't really been a problem for me in Solasta. I agree about the constantly burning ground lol!
Great game, but I can't help but think the Fighter really gets the shaft here. Obviously with no full D&D license, Solasta couldn't use the Battle Master and Eldritch Knight, which are easily the Fighter's two best archetypes in 5e. Wow, this really is way more true to 5E the BG3. Will that be a good thing, or a bad thing?
Good thing. Definitely a good thing. Most of BG3's current issues are where it deviates from 5e.

I see that the Insight domain cleric gets the Find Traps spell. Does anyone know if this spell is as useless in Solasta as it is in 5E D&D?
