I have the V2. Absolutely fantastic jet. Torn up flying off a gravel runway though. I really want to try it with the new SMC packs, I fly it right now with an older SMC 8000mah pushed all the way back and 5 minute flights really pushing the pack.
We definitely timed it right - and we hope you found the info useful! If you're picking it up, consider buying it via bit.ly/Futura80 as it's a huge help to the channel at no extra cost to you.
Besides the amazing flying skills and this cool EDF, I really like the video editing including the display of the changes you did on the AS3X! Great job 👏🏻
Night lights would be a good idea. It already has position lights and a taxi light, adding some additional LED strips on the inside shouldn't be too difficult.
By far the best review of the FMS Futura V3 out there💯 This jet will be definitive under the christmas tree this year🎄 Thank you so much for this great video Sir🏆
Very nice, I'm thinking in comparison to the Freewing Avanti 80mm. I'm holding off on the E-flight Viper 90mm and, I'm curious, coming from the Viper 70mm that's known to wing stall (1st hand) if not very careful on low-speed turns. Do you find the FUTURA V3 a little more predictable or forgiving in this aspect? I love its profile and the spaceship look, makes my Viper look somewhat dated. Do you to need to toggle the landing gear occasionally to get the doors to close correctly? Also, at 5:16 you demonstrate the perfect flare on this landing just by the tone alone.
I don’t think I’ve owned a better edf. (Eflite 90mm is close, as is the FMS Bae Hawk) I knew it was a special jet when I started taking it to bed with me. (Don’t get the wrong idea. The Futura v3 had its own pillow at the end of the bed) But when I really knew it was special was when I bought a 2nd Futura v3 and have it in the box in case the 1st is damaged or stolen)
Cheers. We're trying to improve the format so that people want to stick around and watch, rather than boring people with way too much information in the beginning.
Bought a 2nd Futura v3. The first one was too perfect and I wanted something I could screw up. Bigger FMS motor, 200 amp Red Brick ESC and a 10 channel Spektrum AR-10360T. Should be interesting, and it gives me a project next week when it rains every other day.
@@TwoBrosRC since I started watching your videos and Arthur’s channel, I haven’t been crashing anything. I have a storage room and another spare room to store and build planes. If you’re not crashing on a regular basis two rooms fill up quick . I blame you two and Arthur in this era of “No Accountability”for making me a much better lander of planes and EDF’s. (I could go 150 amp. I put a avian 130 amp in the first Futura v3. Not a big difference in speed, but the Reverse Thrust on our crummy, short runway was worth the money. And the telemetry. I need to look at that stuff one day)
Ok...If you could only choose one between the Viper 90 and the V3 Futura, which would you choose? I'm leaning toward the Viper just because I've wanted one for so long, but I really like this one too. One day I'll have both in the stable, but I'm on a 1 plane at a time budget according to my wife.
If price was an issue for us, the Futura would be the jet we'd pick because it's cheaper and flies great - it's just not completely as capable as the Viper is. If you'd like to support us, consider buying the Viper from bit.ly/3JGRS30 or the Futura from bit.ly/Futura80 at no additional cost to you.
@@TwoBrosRC Thank you! I was always planning to use one of your links for the purchase. You perfectly answered my question! It's Viper for me. Just seems like a very good plane..locked in.
I'm right there with you Zack. Both a great planes but I think the Viper 90 is worth saving the additional $250 on top of the cost of the Futurta. Viper 90mm has just been Out of Stock for soooooo long🤦♂️
That’s without reflex/gyro? I thought you had a gyro but the link leads to this Futura without Reflex. Very impressive in any event. (sorry if i’m way off, i don’t know much about gyros)
Amazing review as usual !!! The best in the business 😊 I already have the Futura V2 with about 50 flights on it. Will there be a noticeable difference between v2 and V3 ?
Thanks for the review! I’ve been thinking about getting this as my next jet. I have a question for you. I’m on the fence about getting an NX10 or an NX10 special edition. Do you think the upgraded gimbles that the special edition has is worth the extra cash?
If it helps, we bought the IX20SE specifically for the aluminum gimbal upgrade - and if the NX10SE's gimbals are anything like the IX20SE's, we'd say yes. It's absolutely noticeable and feels like silk. If you want to support us at no additional charge to yourself, consider buying from bit.ly/3P7bMqo.
I just flew mine for the first time yesterday and must say I am a little disappointed in the way it flies. It doesn’t seem to “fly on rails” like my Viper 90mm does and just doesn’t seem as locked in. Also has some strange tendencies especially at slow speed. Overall still a nice jet tho.
@@TwoBrosRC Hmm, perhaps I need a gyro to make it fly a little better. Does it come with a gyro installed? There’s a circuit board mounted in the back of the electronics bay
@@TwoBrosRC Yeah I LOVE AS3X and would prefer to install that in it. I flew it again a couple times today and adjusted my CG forward and it flies a little better but could still use a gyro.
No contest, the Viper beats it hands down - but they're both excellent jets. The Viper is just better in ways we personally find important, like being able to fly sustained stable high alpha.
Sexy.. Fast.. agile.. fun.. long lasting... Much better than its BAE-Hawk 80mm brother ... it isn't like prom night and done in about 2 minutes, the Futura has a longer stay power Great video
Your fantastic! I have 22 years flying jets in Colorado! Keep up the good work on new jets reviews !
Great video. Enjoyed watching. Just ordered the new 64mm Futura.

Try it with a 3600 pack using 150% rates - then you can fly it in controlled high alpha like we did in the most recent vid we published on it!
great videos very imformative reviews and stuff - keep them coming. going to buy one on the back of this
Saw that this was back in stock yesterday and hoped the review was going to be up today. Just in time for Christmas. Hope I was good enough this year.

We're happy to hear that, Nir! We'll be going with this format more in the future so you'll be able to see the transmitter screen as we fly.
@@TwoBrosRC awesome! This is a whole new level IMO 👏🏻
Probably just me, but I think this jet would look awesome with lights for night flying, Night Radian style.
Nice video as always guys!

It's with the Spektrum AR637T using AS3X that we tuned ourselves.
@@TwoBrosRC Thank you! I really appreciate that you always reply so quickly.
great skills! can you start including music names too in the description cause your videos have some really nice music :D
Almost everything we play on jet vids is from Ace Combat 3 and 7.

Next time perhaps!
Sounds great
Great job guys

Jon.. what gps are you using for the speed? It sounds like it is your radio anouncing the speed. Is it the telemetry on your radio?
It's a Spektrum GPS unit. Hop on Discord via discord.gg/twobrosrc and we can link it to ya.
hey man! Whats your recommended CG for this plane? Just got hold of one, and looking to maiden it tomorrow :)
About 30mm in front of the wheel wells is a good starting point. We prefer to fly right over the wheels.
Amazing review as usual !!! The best in the business 😊
I already have the Futura V2 with about 50 flights on it. Will there be a noticeable difference between v2 and V3 ?
Mostly just the paint scheme and perhaps upgraded servos.
Copy that. Keep up the excellent work !
I have the green mod v3 ordered.
What is the best SMC size pack you recommend and what is a good flight time to set? Thanks man
4400 HV. Fly it with voltage telemetry so you know exactly what the battery level is. If you can't, set it for three minutes and adjust as needed.
Great video and great flying! I’ll be ordering one up. Do you think the FMs platinum motor would be an upgrade for the Eflite 80mm f16?
It would be an upgrade but not a huge one. Perhaps almost unnoticeable actually.

Pretty sure this one doesn't come with Reflex. AS3X+ is a way better system anyhow! That circuit board is a mixing board to simplify wing connections.
@@TwoBrosRC Yeah I LOVE AS3X and would prefer to install that in it. I flew it again a couple times today and adjusted my CG forward and it flies a little better but could still use a gyro.

We *can*, but probably won't - not unless FMS wants to send it to us.

Fly on LiHV from www.smc-racing.com - you'll get more power and more flight time. ;)
Hello, I want to buy this rc plane, can you help me?
bit.ly/Futura80
Snazzy
117.4 is slow?! I got mine to go 3000mph.
🏃
Im not sure why? but my V-2 Futura looks faster than that V-3 ive clocked mine at 130mph in straight level flight with a 4500 6s 50c Pack
Numbers don't mean much beyond 100 MPH. What matters is how it performs. The V2 and V3 should perform very well compared to each other.
@@TwoBrosRC Yeah a crash at 117mph is going to be just as catastrophic as one at 135mph

slow
So what? It hits over 100 MPH and flies great.
It is just such an ugly airplane
