    Good job separating the videos into two parts! With viewers generally falling into two categories, those that want to see the setup along with the flight vs those who just want the flight, this has to be better for your analytics.
    When I started a couple years ago, I enjoyed the full videos. Now planes are being rereleased and I find myself cutting out after the flight. That is unless there is some crash or repair which you call out in the title.
    Those like me who have seen the previous versions can now skip the Unboxing without destroying your analytics on the 3hr version. You even went straight into the canopy carve out from the V2. That thing grooves. Now time to unbox my V2 in the closet for over a year.
    Thanks and Good Job to you and Megan!

    Thanks for the video, Brian. Compared to other EDF sports jets, I wonder which model is appropriate for the beginners? I'm practicing in the realflight program to fly an edf jet plane. There are some recommended models in EDF jets, such as Viper, AvantiS, Banshee, Marlin, etc.
    I don't know what it would be like in real flight, as I no longer break the plane when flying in realflight simulations. 😅

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This plane flies great, and isn't "hard to fly", but it's fast, and you need to have a long enough runway to avoid issues. Good thing about it - hard surface takeoff, and grass landings are possible ;)
      Habu SS 50mm would be a good entry to EDF's ( Habu bit.ly/3ci5eWD ), and loads less cash out of pocket...but HALF the experience of the Futura

    Just want to say that you make the best tutorials on the RC planes and jets.
    I’m looking at buying the fms futura v3 and I’m not a total newbie but I’ve not long stated flying planes, only small ones. Would you recommend this one and what settings would I need to change to make it a bit more easier to fly be stable. I really appreciate your time and you fly everything amazingly.

    Hello Brian. I almost lost my V3 futura. The reflex did the same as yours. Would auto level. Then would stick in down intermittent. Then it was flying wonky with extreme limited control. Lucky I got it down in one of my best landings ever! I think I’m ripping it out and going with AR647T

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Okay, very experienced pilot + wants the thrill - very TOUGH CALL - both are very good!!!
      Futura 80mm is still an 80mm - It's a bigger, more intense flight performance, but it's not a LOT more, FYI
      Viper 70mm is still smaller at 70mm, but adds BETTER value for BNF and Better functioning Thrust Reverse (if you like and want / need it, which I would)
      I hate to do this [all the time], but the correct answer is BOTH!!!
      If you HAD to get my vote, it would be Viper 70mm FIRST, then progress NEXT into the 80mm Futura - or just get both and tell your wife the company screwed up and sent both - LOL ;) (they're from different sites - LOL)
      1) bprc.me/Viper (this one is a BNF, so you'll be ready to rock and roll)
      THEN OR next...
      2) bprc.me/FMS_Futura (remember it's a PNP, so you'll need an Rx too)

    I've been watching your videos,and you do a good review on them,but I never see you check the CG on them, do you use a gauge,do you flip it upside down that would be nice if you put that in the video, cuz every time I fly a new plane or even any plane I always check the CG make sure that it is a little nose heavy then tail heavily I'm just saying,for beginning Flyers the CG is very important if that is to tail heavy you'll be flying a 3D plane and you can maybe do it,and maybe I can but the new Flyers cannot, they'll destroy their plane in a second and you know that so,by adding that to your video that would help the beginning Flyers to do that more often, thank you and keep putting reviews up they help, I've been watching your videos since you were at your apartment and then you built a home I remember that, so I've been following you for a long time, or wait it was a townhome keep up the good work brother flyer you and your wife do a great job check out my TH-cam channel sla1er1, I have all my videos on there of me flying my planes and cars

      This is the "MAIDEN FLIGHT(s)". We show all that on the "Unbox, Build, and Radio Setup" video. Once you have the CG located, you can make a maiden flight, and then make adjustments.
      This plane would not be a great choice for the beginner RC pilot, in my opinion, but it's not too tough to prohibit many newER pilots from flying her with confidence.

    I test auto level on the bench, switch it on, hold the plane with the nose towards me, point the tail in the air and the elevator moves up and stays up until you let the plane go level. If you let the tail down slowly you can watch the elevator come back to level, that way you are sure it is working correctly with no risk

      yes, we have shown this a few hundred times too in our videos, but this plane "passes" all our vetting, and yet it did that CRAZY thing - still not an issue, as I now know to get the plane somewhat level the first time with REFLEX V2's and then be ready to confirm it's going to work right in flight.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      We did that years ago, and still have them published. If you can afford to fly Hobbyking products, you can afford to have FMS, Eflite, Arrows - they're all in the ballpark.
      Not to beat you up, btw...but when you fly a hobbyking product, how often is it build and then go fly, and it's near flawless (Almost never, right???? They're more like Dynam style project planes....not as bad as Dynam, but in that echelon. Some are very good, and they do basically fly good, but it's not a hallmark of the company, like eflite or FMS. I've had maybe 4-5 total "bad" experienced with these two big brands...they just don't release bad options, even if they're 20-35% more expensive.
      Now if you want to talk about cost...I remember spending a load of money FIXING my hobbyking planes ;) Granted, I was a WAY worse pilot back then, but if I factored that it, I'd be closer to the SAME price between competitive offerings.
      Again, NOT to disparage Hobbyking, but it's products sometimes lack the "Finish level" of some of the "more expensive" planes.
      Either way, we've "been there - done that" - and they did offer to work with us, btw, but we just don't want people to have bad experiences...that's also why we stopped doing Dynams.

    • @cwwisk
      @cwwisk ปีที่แล้ว

      @@M4rkmcc21 it is able to be set up that way, but not when you use the Reflex gyro on a pwm receiver. The mode switch on the gyro requires a channel. Spektrum uses "phantom channels" to do this on their gyro receivers, but the external gyro needs a dedicated channel for mode selection (or can be used in one mode without plugging that lead into a channel). They used an 8 channel receiver to set this up so they could use the Reflex gyro. That means the plane is set up with 7 used channels. That leaves an extra channel open to be able to put ailerons on their own channels. That allows for crow mixing. I hope this makes sense.

    • @cwwisk

      @@M4rkmcc21 also, you can use an SBUS receiver and really do some cool stuff. This plane has 2 flap servos, 2 Aileron servos, 1 rudder servo, 1 steering servo, 3 retracts, and 1 or 2 elevator servos. A person can put each of these on its own channel, which could mean up to between 10 and 12 usable channels.
