Feeding systems dairy animals-A successful feeding system is one that delivers the needed nutrients to each animal according to their nutrients requirements for maximum production. In Pakistan, we are still lacking proper mechanizing and we have feeding systems based on Dairy Production Systems. There are
1. grazing systems - not good for dairy but we have
2. mixed farming system - Crop residues, agro industrial by products and weeds in cropland after harvest
3. peri-urban dairy colonies - wholly dependent on stall-feeding
4. Commercial dairy- Stall feeding and/or grazing
5. Feedlot? Can be in Summer heat - ability to fine tune rations and obtain milk production close to the herd’s genetic potential.
