It seems like she has turned her juvenile friendship with Tupac into a fantasy love story to avoid being present for her marriage and her family. It's so disrespectful to Will and the kids and shows her emotional immaturity, not 'enlightenment and wisdom".

She didn't want to be married. She wanted to be famous and a legend. A sage. But she's none of those things. So since Will didn't make her famous, her past acquaintance with Tupac is how she's now trying to be famous. She just wants fame in a vulture way.

For years I’ve always felt when she spoke, she wanted to sound so intellectual and well educated. I felt each word was selected carefully and practiced many times. I never found her authentic. I would watch her at different times hoping I’d find her relaxed and genuine. Now that I know about her depression, I see that from an early age there was some trauma and/or insecurities that made her want to express that way. Just my observation over the last 20 years

I feel the same way about how Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry describe their relationship. They both keep saying how it's really really really hard, but you should find that person who'll go to the mat with you and still love you on the other side. And I'm over here like " No, that's not how I would ever want to describe my relationship or my marriage." If you're having those kind of struggles regularly, you're probably not well suited, no matter how many times you come back together afterward. Celebrities need to stop normalizing toxic patterns and treating them like growth experiences. In my opinion, healthy growth and a closer bond don't come from constant struggle. The whole "you don't deserve the best of me unless you suffer through the worst of me" mentality is such garbage.

As a clinician myself and also having experienced suicidal depression myself in my early 20s , I totally agree with this psychologist assessment of how irresponsible it is for this lady to say that plant hallucinogen medicine healed her of her suicidal depression.
30 years later I push myself to work out daily, eat well, sleep well, and continue to work with my own therapist to keep the depression in check . This lady is suffering from narcissistic and also histrionic personality issues.

Yes. I happen to meet online people who are depressed sometimes and some say suicidal. I tell them my story and what worked for me and how I still fight it. I also tell them how many times I had to change doctors or medicines and that not everything works the same on everyone so don't give up if first therapist/anti-depressant, etc. doesn't work. It's our brain. No one yet knows exactly how it works and that is exactly why there are so many meds out there, so many ways to deal with it and cope, but never a one size fits all.

I’m seriously done with Jada. I have been in a situation where taking my life seemed to be the best solution at the time. It’s the most terrifying thing I’ve ever felt, and even now, so many years later, it terrifies me that I came so close, and I BELIEVED it was what I should do. It causes an angst that I cannot adequately explain to this day, and I’m petrified that if I felt that way then, I could feel that way again. To hear her be so glib about suicidal ideations is infuriating. The things she says tells me she has NEVER felt the way I did. NEVER! And trying to tell others who may be suffering this way that it’s so easily erased is a pathetic grab at attention, and it’s dangerous for others who are REALLY suicidal. No respect for you, Jada. None! Go on and live your life, but please, take us out of the group text…….. 😡😢😡

I agree with you on all points. I have been with my husband for 42 years (41 years married this Summer!) and if there were rough patches - financial struggles, professional insecurities, raising children with all that it brings, but in the end it was and is a good ride. I never felt that it was difficult to be with him. We argued and didn't see eye to eye every day. But we loved, respected, and trusted each other. I didn't have to pretend to be someone else, didn't have to walk on eggs around him. If you are with someone who constantly makes you cry, that you feel insecure, that you cannot understand, that person is NOT your partner. My husband is my best friend - we laugh like morons and enjoy a lot of the same thing (not everything! but enough), is my lover (yes, you do have to be on the same page regards to sex) and a partner (financial, parental) and our core values are the same. My life has been, and still is, EASIER because he is my husband, not the contrary.

Jada and Will need to read your story, even if it's only a brief snapshot of your 41 years of married life. This is what a stable and fullfilling relationship and marriage is ❤. May you enjoy many more wonderful years together.
My parents, God bless their hearts, must have been married for 71 to 73 years(I'll need to confirm that) and they had their fair share of ups and downs but they provided a stable home for their children and grandchildren. When my dad passed away in August 2003, I saw the deep sorrow that my mother was feeling and the emotions that she had not shown openly as I was growing up. Sadly she too passed on after three weeks after his passing. I was 48 years old and my oldest sister was 67 years old. Jada needs to "wake up"! If she's not happy in the marriage, then do something about it other than talk about it in public 😠😡

Will Smith clearly has an amazing PR team! His work, and manufactured public persona, has made him a solid A list celebrity that is loved and respected by the public in general. What he is at home and what transgressions he has commited throughout their marriage will be known by those close to home. Jada seems to be clawing back whatever fame she felt she was deprived of, due to becoming a mom and a wife, and taking a back seat for Will to become this super human. Will's star essentially dimmed hers (or so she feels) and now she wants her "super fame" and is going about it in the worst possible way, by attacking this globally loved, A list persona. She underestimated the business that is Will Smith, a business that the world is prepared to defend, no matter what he's done, or hasnt done, even agajnst his own family! Jada needs to learn that she can't compete where she doesn't compare! Its unfortunate that it's her husband that she is tearing down! My 3 cents

I don't trust people who aren't truly trained in psychology giving advice about depression or suicide. For someone to share their own story is one thing, but when they come across as an expert, I believe that is very dangerous. They are only an expert concerning their own experience.

As someone who was suicidal after being a victim of family child sexual assault the suicidal thoughts I experienced were incredibly traumatic. I nearly cried listening to you talk about what it’s like to be “recovered” and how it never stops. I’m always waiting for that next trigger or scared if I miss my meds or don’t exercise or whatever it is, that that will be the thing that brings me back down. Sleep is a huge trigger for me as I have bipolar II and I’m diligent about it cause suicidal thoughts are “just there” if I stumble. My therapist always tells me it’s not “just there” and I’ve done a lot of work to be where I am and I believe him but there is a fear. No one gets over it like this. If they did they may have been low or depressed even but not suicidal. I really appreciated this video!

As far as Will goes he's pathetic and has continually let her publicly humiliate him.

Ok as I have commented before. I’ve been in that dark hole. It took sooooo much work to be able to pull through and I’m still working on it and I think I will always do, that to me she saying oh I took x and it took me out of the dark place I call bs. It belittles the work of people like myself have had to go through to make sure we don’t go back to the hole ( as I call it)

    • @SleepyLeeeee
      @SleepyLeeeee 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Yeah, I totally get that. Same here. Also saying taking x can fix depression when in reality it could also worsen it ...just is frustrating. There's a lot of people in the woke"/spiritual/whatever communities who think the same thing. If you take x it gives you special insight into how the the world really is and you'll become better for it. I cannot roll my eyes or side eye them any harder than I already have.
I also think Jada must be facing other issues she won't admit to or doesn't realize .... and that she is falsely attributing the x to be the reason why it's better.

Her wardrobe choices on this book tour make me leery of what she has to say; she wants to physically project an image of bright, angelic, otherworldly ‘cleanliness’(? apologies if that’s not the right word to use). It’s visible in her movements and actions too-bolt upright, very serene and sedate. It’s too much. It feels like she wants her appearance to do the work that she hasn’t done; she wants it to speak for her. She doesn’t have a meaningful message, but if she can look the part, people will buy into it and believe her. Actors, man.

When people are not self-aware of their own mental illness, they can do a lot of damage to others with their actions. We're in this weird place where we talk about these people and give them a lot of attention, but we don't do much to help them or to protect society from them.

  • @lupinedew

I think the only way she sees herself as relevant is to remain outside of anything mainstream... in almost every respect.
It says "im so special... my family is so unique"
Look at her marriage, her parenting, her viewpoints, ...her "faith", her health seeking...
It's all away from the mainstream. Its because she/her family is just so unique.
To have anything mainstream help her would be admitting she is just a mundane person... like the rest of us... subject to mundane laws and solutions...
She doesnt see the possibility of the uniqueness within her / their mundanity. (Is that a word?)

I agree with your breakdown of JPS as I believe many are deceived by her double speak.
But Will Smith is an active part of this toxic relationship and also deserves a break down. He has his own book. He’s not innocent. He’s not a victim.
I think these are two people who’ve outgrown each other but who won’t get a divorce, which is their call. However, that they are still being deceptive and acting as if this relationship is working for them or that they’ve discovered some secret to marital bliss is ridiculous.
There’s also rumors that her Red Table Talk show is set to return so I’m advocating for any and every licensed professional to confirm what exactly people are getting into by listening to her.

She's so convoluted. How much of a nothing would it have been if a million years ago, they would have just said, "we're figuring it out as we go... so we're separated, but love each other and are working on it."? This is a lot of couples and it's not anything remarkable. But the keeping up appearances for 6 years is what makes this so weird. No one needed the lie or the appearances. it's just exhausting and diminishes much of the other things she's sharing.
