It’s not just the wives that he has lost ground with, but the kids too. He has a desperate, unrealistic need to be completely admired and adored, which in turn, strokes his ego. While he CAN get that from younger kids,(as most little ones see the world with rose colored glasses) the older kids are grown up now and are not as oblivious to what has happened-not only with their mom, but their own personal experiences with him.
He only had two wives in his life. We should not buy their view of marriage at all. He had meri and two girlfriends then three girlfriend. Then divorced his wife so he could marry his third girlfriend.

Yah know the disconnect that Kodi has telling the other 2 if you act like X Y and Z, then you will get my attention again But everyone has watched Meri do everything asked of her and he still rejects her over and over. The whole thing is really sad. I wish that the show will start to show them all moving on with their lives.

I think Kody is intentionally cruel towards Meri. He knows she still wants a relationship, of any kind, and he doesn't care one whit. It was obvious that Robyn had already told Kody what Meri's plans were by the way they kept looking at each other when Meri was speaking and Kody couldn't keep that sh** eating smirk to himself. He couldn't be kind for one minute. Let's see that smirk when the bills are coming in and their income has 3 less contributors. I hope he has to pawn that horse ring to pay Robyn's credit card bills.
I’m surprised that you didn’t mention that Kody said he only stays in these relationships because he doesn’t want Robyn to lose respect for him. He said the quiet part out loud. He has given the other woman just enough crumbs to convince Robyn he is trying.

Watching Meri finally get her answers and not willing to keep Kody’s secrets as the “good” guy. Meri being shipped out to the Barndaminium was the saddest part of the episode for me. Kody is holding on to Meri only for her money which he needs to build on Coyote pass. She sees it’s just a place for Kody to store all his extra crap - including her! Run Meri!
That's when she missed up her basically cut that tie but then tried to come back and act like nothing happening when she knew how petty Kody is because she didn't believe she can be alone and now it's hard for people to feel sorry for her because she is asking to rejected. I still feel sorry for her, but it is frustrating seeing Kody constantly disrespect her and then have the nerve to say " why won't she leave" instead of telling I don't want to be with you anymore.
Robyn isn't missing nuances, she is performing. K&R's need to display what a great relationship they have & present themselves as martyrs this season is disgusting & puzzling. To come up with this to make themselves look both considerate & like victims was a really strange choice.
So the premise is Meri has told Robin earlier and now this is the big reveal to Cody. They even come in separate vehicles to set this up. But you KNOW Cody and Robin have already discussed this. What KILLS me is Robin’s face trying desperately to get Cody to say the right thing. If you haven’t noticed, watch the show again and just watch Robins face and twitches and Cody’s eyes😂. And if you watch him,he looks at Robin way more than at Meri throughout all of this. He completely sees what Robin is trying to communicate and doesn’t do it. Just won’t do what she wants. And this drives her crazy- I’d say they discussed a plan, decided how he’d react, and in the moment he was: Nope. Not gonna do it.
When I watched the scene with Kody being so proud that he got the impossible reservation at Mariposa, I went to Open Table and was able to get a 7 pm ( prime time for restaurant reservations) ON THE SAME DAY! So Kody use the app and stop bragging.

There are two other talking points I would have loved to see you include: 1. The ‘Barn-dominum idea’, and 2. When Kody states he feels pressured to maintain his relationships with his other wives as he is afraid of losing Robyn’s respect if he doesn’t…..very telling.
Meri is being given false hope by Robyn! Hands down .. and Meri wants so bad for Kody to love her she gave up everything divorcing him to make Robyn happy and so the could supposedly marry for insurance reasons. If their marriage wasn't over that divorce would never have happened. I can't wait for her to yell at those two ..that it's over!! Robyn also gives Meri false hope cause meri is a big money maker for the family and no questions asked! They have used and used poor meti and Janelle too for same reasons.

Meri’s said before… “she started this family and she’s not giving up”. (on Kody or her TLC $$) They’ve been filming with iPhones in fields, inside cars, back porches, Fat Olive & Salsa Bravo to keep production costs down. The show has been on the cancellation block since 2016. Kody renegotiated contracts that cut their pay in half …to film the continued alienation of Meri & demise of Christine’s marriage all while airing the family’s dirty laundry and doing irreparable damage to the kids for pennies on the dollar. My friend Sarah lives in Arizona and she did TikTok where she showed it’s possible to get same-day reservations at Mariposa if you’re flexible on time, and for a specific time during the dinner rush all you have to do is plan a week ahead. Apparently it’s hard for Kody to get a reservation because he doesn’t give a shit and doesn’t think about it in advance. 😂
Kody has made it abundantly clear that NOTHING will change his mind about Meri. It's got to be frustrating to see how angry he is about losing Christine all the while kicking Meri to the curb. Robyn's wanting Meri to stay connected is cruel knowing that Kody will never want her back.
It was very difficult to watch. Meri knows Kody reacted badly when Christine and Janelle announced they were leaving. He just does not care that Meri is moving. I don’t think he had the ring on when he took Janelle out to her birthday dinner.

I can’t wait when the show will not be picked up, the 3OG’s are stable. The TV money R&K make will be gone (spend faster than they get it)and Robyn will move on.
Kody has been acting for the cameras since the inception of Sister Wives. He scammed the audience into believing all is well with polygamy, ignoring glaring issues. Once the audience began to catch on and comment about this lifestyle, the women seemed to take a harder look at their situation which empowered them to break free and lead their own lives.
The thing I struggle with is Robin basically bringing up and coercing Meri to say that she isn’t leaving Kody and wants to make sure he knows that. At that point it was super evident Kody didn’t care at all and Robin still brought it up, like I remember friends doing in junior high making things way more awkward then they had to be. Is TLC just scripting this stuff for the drama?
Meri has sacrificed herself several times to try to win Kody's favor. She seems to have a pattern of believing that if she gives Kody something very special and exciting he will love her more. The first time was finding Robin and encouraging Kody to court her. If you watch the earlier episodes, she says that's why she did it because she wanted to be special in Kody's eyes. Then she divorced Kody to allow Robin to legally marry him. Hopefully she will figure out that it doesn't work that way and she can have someone who genuinely loves her for who she is!

Janelle and Kody in the car was so interesting: Kody thinking this date was going to fix everything and Janelle realizing it’s over!

That’s exactly what I thought. Janelle was different when she separated. It was about her finally seeing Kody’s horrible behaviour. I felt Meri might have done it to send him into panic mode because he had lost his other wives. She may have thought he would pull her nearer but he doesn’t care. Its an awful way to live.
I love the new introduction. Excellent commentary. Regarding Kody, I completely agree. His level of anger and bitterness around Christine leaving him is excessive given the shallow feelings he had for her. It smacks more of narcisstic mortification.
Besides the horse ring that Robyn got Kody, the other notable part of that conversation with Meri, Kody, and Robyn was when Kody suggested the "barndominium" idea to Meri. Kody is immune to irony!
My first thought watching Kody listening to Meri tell him she was going to downsize and move was how quickly Kodys mind calculated “cash flow!” He immediately saw an opportunity to solve his money issues by using Meri’s equity. No sense of her feelings at all.
Lady is the Titanic and Christine, Janelle, and now Meridian are the passengers while Robyn is the iceberg. Kody hit Robyn and everyone thought all would be well; their marriages were unsinkable and built strong. It took a while but eventually the wives started to see that their marriages were not built as strong as they thought and Kody was not strong enough to keep them afloat. Now they are all jumping ship with their “diamonds” and looking for safer waters. These women are leaving with no lifeboats, their just trying to get out of this sinking ship. 😂
I think Kody needs a ton of psychological help!! He just can't read the room! It is the problem he has. The wives are done and they don't need him except Robyn.
I think he is beyond help. In order to be helped, you have to be open to examining your role in the conflicts. I don't think he is capable of doing that. It would threaten the imaginary world he has created himself where he is always right and absolutely perfect.
You are Spot on with your assessment of Kody. He has been that way for the entire show and I am surprised it took this long for some of these women to leave him. I think if there was not the possibility of him being arrested, this show would not have been so successful. Just started watching your reactions to this show at the beginning of season 18. Love it.
I read in a couple places that the arrest crisis was all made up. I think one of the places was "Without a Crystal Ball". One one of the sites, the daughter of the sheriff in that area said that there was never any danger of Kody being arrested. It was apparently created for the show by one or more of the parties involved in the show.
Kody shows his love for Robyn in front of the wives all the time. By the house Robyn lives in, by the respect he shows her, by the way he treats her kids in comparison to the children of the three original wives, and by where he spends his time. At this point weather he kisses Robyn or not is irrelevant.
I feel most people are hard on Meri, but she went through a divorce and empty nest at the same time. She did all that alone with little to no support or understanding from Kody or the other wives. Set her up perfectly for the catfishing to happen, and then he completely blames her for being disloyal when he basically abandoned her.
Oh, please - That’s just life. She always had a choise. She chose not to reach out to Kody or her sister wives or daughter. She chose not trying to get another child. She chose polygamy and she chose to seek put a relationship online. Let’s face it - had Sam been real, she was out of there! Mariah even warned her. She could have gone to a tennis club, a book club or anything else if she was lonely. She could even have said: “By family, this is not for me anymore!” She chose this. She feeds of being a victim!

I honestly think Cody got tired of trying to keep up with so much, enjoyed the young new wife, and unfortunately, feels it’s ok to abandon/stop trying with all the other kids. I think during covid, he got comfortable, and decided to start pushing everyone away. On several occasions, K told J that concerning his boys, he didn’t want to act as if nothing had happened without having a discussion. That is precisely what he tried to do with Jenelle after their big argument.
Kody gets that it causes Meri discomfort. He doesn't care and enjoys her pain. She wounded his ego with the catfish. She rejected him, was going to abandon him and embarrassed him. He will make her pay for that forever.

The fact it replaced the Claddagh ring that ALL the wives gave him which was basically their wedding ring says everything......he only cares about the one wife because she is "loyal to him". IF Robyn was the one that bought the ring then she knows full well the implications of which finger he is wearing it on and that it shows his "loyalty" to her and only her.

I was watching an episode from last year where Christine was telling kody she was leaving and his reply was my fear is you will move to Utah find a boyfriend and take my money. I think that tells everything about him. He doesn’t love them just uses them as a meal ticket
I cant imagine being raised like Meri was, then being married to a man like Kody for so long and being so mistreated, then when you do put your toe in the water and think youve found someeone who sees you and loves you they turn out to be a dangerous manipulator trying to harm the family you love. She's gotten very little psych support as far as we know to heal from all of this. This season, it becomes very clear why she has grown so dependent on Jen. Im glad she has her, and I hope her circle grows. Oh. And Kodys is a hard to watch ass.

That’s why it makes more sense of Jenelle saying in the next episode (tonight) he’s better connected with the younger kids because they show value to his thoughts. While his older kids are able to make their own judgement and he doesn’t connect with them so much
I think he was stringing Meri along to get her to continue donating funds for the "family." I also feel that is why he is trying to get Janelle back, she has said she contributed the most $$ in the past.

I have felt for awhile that something pivotal happened between Cody & Meri after the cat fishing incident was revealed. Meri probably felt tremendous guilt for what happened, and knowing Cody, he likely threw it back in her face and said something like “see, I knew you’d leave me, I knew this would happen, which would have put Meri back into a compliant position in the relationship. So now they’re playing “relationship chicken.” Both are saying “I’m not going to end this relationship” and keep trying to outlast the other one. It’s a poorly played power move, as it’s not helping either one move forward.
If Meri is playing Kody to see who outlasts the other, how does Meri win by losing at least a decade trying to get kody back? Aside from some TLC money, how is it worth giving up time wasted on that idiot & his monster wife.

I think Kody is intentionally cruel towards Meri. He knows she still wants a relationship, of any kind, and he doesn't care one whit. It was obvious that Robyn had already told Kody what Meri's plans were by the way they kept looking at each other when Meri was speaking and Kody couldn't keep that sh** eating smirk to himself. He couldn't be kind for one minute. Let's see that smirk when the bills are coming in and their income has 3 less contributors. I hope he has to pawn that horse ring to pay Robyn's credit card bills.

So the premise is Meri has told Robin earlier and now this is the big reveal to Cody. They even come in separate vehicles to set this up. But you KNOW Cody and Robin have already discussed this.
What KILLS me is Robin’s face trying desperately to get Cody to say the right thing. If you haven’t noticed, watch the show again and just watch Robins face and twitches and Cody’s eyes😂. And if you watch him,he looks at Robin way more than at Meri throughout all of this. He completely sees what Robin is trying to communicate and doesn’t do it. Just won’t do what she wants. And this drives her crazy- I’d say they discussed a plan, decided how he’d react, and in the moment he was: Nope. Not gonna do it.
When I watched the scene with Kody being so proud that he got the impossible reservation at Mariposa, I went to Open Table and was able to get a 7 pm ( prime time for restaurant reservations) ON THE SAME DAY! So Kody use the app and stop bragging.
Kody and Robyn dine at Mariposa regularly. There are many pics of them there over the years since moving to Flagstaff.

My friend Sarah lives in Arizona and she did TikTok where she showed it’s possible to get same-day reservations at Mariposa if you’re flexible on time, and for a specific time during the dinner rush all you have to do is plan a week ahead. Apparently it’s hard for Kody to get a reservation because he doesn’t give a shit and doesn’t think about it in advance. 😂

Kody has made it abundantly clear that NOTHING will change his mind about Meri. It's got to be frustrating to see how angry he is about losing Christine all the while kicking Meri to the curb. Robyn's wanting Meri to stay connected is cruel knowing that Kody will never want her back.
It was very difficult to watch. Meri knows Kody reacted badly when Christine and Janelle announced they were leaving. He just does not care that Meri is moving. I don’t think he had the ring on when he took Janelle out to her birthday dinner.

Kody has been acting for the cameras since the inception of Sister Wives. He scammed the audience into believing all is well with polygamy, ignoring glaring issues. Once the audience began to catch on and comment about this lifestyle, the women seemed to take a harder look at their situation which empowered them to break free and lead their own lives.
The thing I struggle with is Robin basically bringing up and coercing Meri to say that she isn’t leaving Kody and wants to make sure he knows that. At that point it was super evident Kody didn’t care at all and Robin still brought it up, like I remember friends doing in junior high making things way more awkward then they had to be. Is TLC just scripting this stuff for the drama?

Meri has sacrificed herself several times to try to win Kody's favor. She seems to have a pattern of believing that if she gives Kody something very special and exciting he will love her more. The first time was finding Robin and encouraging Kody to court her. If you watch the earlier episodes, she says that's why she did it because she wanted to be special in Kody's eyes. Then she divorced Kody to allow Robin to legally marry him. Hopefully she will figure out that it doesn't work that way and she can have someone who genuinely loves her for who she is!

Janelle and Kody in the car was so interesting: Kody thinking this date was going to fix everything and Janelle realizing it’s over!

Growing up in polygamy channel did a video the other day that gave a lot of insight into the flds and lds religion and culture that spoke about how and why the wives are reacting the way they are. It’s foreign to us watching from this side of it. It’s pretty eye opening.

That’s exactly what I thought. Janelle was different when she separated. It was about her finally seeing Kody’s horrible behaviour. I felt Meri might have done it to send him into panic mode because he had lost his other wives. She may have thought he would pull her nearer but he doesn’t care. Its an awful way to live.

I love the new introduction. Excellent commentary. Regarding Kody, I completely agree. His level of anger and bitterness around Christine leaving him is excessive given the shallow feelings he had for her. It smacks more of narcisstic mortification.
Besides the horse ring that Robyn got Kody, the other notable part of that conversation with Meri, Kody, and Robyn was when Kody suggested the "barndominium" idea to Meri. Kody is immune to irony!

My first thought watching Kody listening to Meri tell him she was going to downsize and move was how quickly Kodys mind calculated “cash flow!” He immediately saw an opportunity to solve his money issues by using Meri’s equity. No sense of her feelings at all.
Lady is the Titanic and Christine, Janelle, and now Meridian are the passengers while Robyn is the iceberg. Kody hit Robyn and everyone thought all would be well; their marriages were unsinkable and built strong. It took a while but eventually the wives started to see that their marriages were not built as strong as they thought and Kody was not strong enough to keep them afloat. Now they are all jumping ship with their “diamonds” and looking for safer waters. These women are leaving with no lifeboats, their just trying to get out of this sinking ship. 😂

You are Spot on with your assessment of Kody. He has been that way for the entire show and I am surprised it took this long for some of these women to leave him. I think if there was not the possibility of him being arrested, this show would not have been so successful. Just started watching your reactions to this show at the beginning of season 18. Love it.
I read in a couple places that the arrest crisis was all made up. I think one of the places was "Without a Crystal Ball". One one of the sites, the daughter of the sheriff in that area said that there was never any danger of Kody being arrested. It was apparently created for the show by one or more of the parties involved in the show.
Robyn will not leave until she has somebody else set up to take his place.
Kody shows his love for Robyn in front of the wives all the time. By the house Robyn lives in, by the respect he shows her, by the way he treats her kids in comparison to the children of the three original wives, and by where he spends his time. At this point weather he kisses Robyn or not is irrelevant.

I feel most people are hard on Meri, but she went through a divorce and empty nest at the same time. She did all that alone with little to no support or understanding from Kody or the other wives. Set her up perfectly for the catfishing to happen, and then he completely blames her for being disloyal when he basically abandoned her.
Oh, please - That’s just life. She always had a choise. She chose not to reach out to Kody or her sister wives or daughter. She chose not trying to get another child. She chose polygamy and she chose to seek put a relationship online. Let’s face it - had Sam been real, she was out of there! Mariah even warned her. She could have gone to a tennis club, a book club or anything else if she was lonely. She could even have said: “By family, this is not for me anymore!” She chose this. She feeds of being a victim!

Not just someone who has an opinion. I love that you help us understand how a marriage/relationship should work, and how to fix problems, say things correctly, the psych behind things. I like that your wife gives her point of view. You’re doing great. If it’s not working for you, plz know that I (we) love it. I honestly think Cody got tired of trying to keep up with so much, enjoyed the young new wife, and unfortunately, feels it’s ok to abandon/stop trying with all the other kids. I think during covid, he got comfortable, and decided to start pushing everyone away. How sad Mary had been so lonely for so many years; he is unforgiving, doesn’t acknowledge all these women working so hard all these years, both in and out of the home. He has been tripping thru all the attention. There’s my 2 cents. Have a good one.
On several occasions, K told J that concerning his boys, he didn’t want to act as if nothing had happened without having a discussion. That is precisely what he tried to do with Jenelle after their big argument.

I was watching an episode from last year where Christine was telling kody she was leaving and his reply was my fear is you will move to Utah find a boyfriend and take my money. I think that tells everything about him. He doesn’t love them just uses them as a meal ticket
I cant imagine being raised like Meri was, then being married to a man like Kody for so long and being so mistreated, then when you do put your toe in the water and think youve found someeone who sees you and loves you they turn out to be a dangerous manipulator trying to harm the family you love. She's gotten very little psych support as far as we know to heal from all of this. This season, it becomes very clear why she has grown so dependent on Jen. Im glad she has her, and I hope her circle grows.

That’s why it makes more sense of Jenelle saying in the next episode (tonight) he’s better connected with the younger kids because they show value to his thoughts. While his older kids are able to make their own judgement and he doesn’t connect with them so much

I wonder what the conversation was like at that dinner. Did Kody talk about Robyn and her kids? Christine? All the jewelry and stuff he’s bought?? I think you give Robyn way more credit than she deserves.
There once was a time that I actually liked Kody and the plural marriage thing( the idea of it). But now I only see a narcissist who completely ignores everybody except Robyn. The gaslighting is almost laughable and so ridiculous and toxic. Robyn is either a codependent and acts totally in favorite of Kody or she is just stupid. Meri needs to run as fast as she can, what is she still doing there? She should be gone 8 years ago
it's amazing kody thinking other wives/kids would accept how he treats them versus how good he treats robin/her kids.
Kody is at the point in his life where he expects everything without earning any of it.
I have felt for awhile that something pivotal happened between Cody & Meri after the cat fishing incident was revealed.
Meri probably felt tremendous guilt for what happened, and knowing Cody, he likely threw it back in her face and said something like “see, I knew you’d leave me, I knew this would happen, which would have put Meri back into a compliant position in the relationship.
So now they’re playing “relationship chicken.”
Both are saying “I’m not going to end this relationship” and keep trying to outlast the other one.
It’s a poorly played power move, as it’s not helping either one move forward.
If Meri is playing Kody to see who outlasts the other, how does Meri win by losing at least a decade trying to get kody back? Aside from some TLC money, how is it worth giving up time wasted on that idiot & his monster wife.
