Newt (Carrie Henn) had so much fun sliding down the vent slide that she kept blowing the scene. Cameron, showing uncharacteristically high patience, told her that if she did the scene properly that she could slide on it the rest of the day. She nailed it on the next take and spent the rest of the day on that slide.

Aliens one of the best sequel movie ever.
This is one line I wish I could use in real life, but I did get to the line from "Highlander" when Garfield questioned Connor's sexuality and his response was classic. I actually got to use that on my assistant manager boss causing his boss to spit his meal on his monitor with my response.

Actress Jenette Goldstein is an amazing actress. She was in the Terminator movies and in the move "Titanic" as the mother telling her kids a fairy tale on the bed before they sink.
The actor playing Vasquez is underrated. She is also in Terminator 2.
and one of my under-the-radar favorites, "Near Dark."
And in Cameron’s Titanic as an Irish immigrant in steerage, and in Cameron’s wife-at-the-time vampire movie Near Dark.

Paul Reiser who plays creepy Carter Burke who died in Aliens also starred in the sitcom Mad About You (Playing a much nicer character, lol). They did an episode where his friend is getting a divorce. As he's trying to describe how his marriage is going wrong he decides to make a sci-fi comparison and says to Paul Reiser, "Have you seen the Alien movies?" to which he immediately replies, "Didn't care for the second one." Best. Joke. Ever.
Lol that’s awesome! I used to watch Mad About You!! I don’t remember the reference (and wouldn’t have gotten it anyway since I hadn’t seen them), but Mad About You is definitely the reason I assumed Burke was “a nice guy” during this movie 😂 Paul Reiser is just so likeable!
It's SO awesome you said "nuke the whole thing" when they go to investigate the 'town meeting', you and Ripley are on the same wavelength!

In case it wasn't clear, it appears the company forgot all about this when the Nostromo didn't return and years went by with no news. Berk learned about it during the inquiry. Berk was the one who sent the directive that sent Newt's family into the derelict space ship. When Ripley forbade returning the facehuggers, Berk trapped them so he could smuggle aliens back inside Newt and Ripley. It was so satisfying watching him become a xenomorph snack.
Actually, a scene was filmed but didn't make it into the movie. In that scene, when Ripley is trying to find Newt, she finds Burke already infected, and he says the thing is almost coming out. Ripley gives him a grenade and he blows himself up off camera after she leaves. Of course, that would be a plot hole because there wouldn't be enough time for the baby to grow inside. So, officially, Burke did become a snack.
This is one of the best sequels of all time. Not sure (yet) if you're watching the extended or original cut, but either way, it's an awesome movie. Hope you enjoy it! Here we go!

I really liked the first movie, so when I heard there was going to be a sequel I was all in. I managed to avoid hearing anything about it, and got to the theater early because I was expecting a line. I ended up getting the first ticket to the first showing. Such a good movie, so much tension (in the theatrical version, the scene with Newt's family was left out, so while you there were aliens, you didn't see one for the first hour of the movie, and it just built and built. After everything, finally, she escapes, and the facility blows up. Yay, the good guys win! Everyone started getting their stuff together to leave the theater. Then the acid drips, Bishop gets torn apart, and it all starts up again. The audience reaction to "Get away from her you bitch!" was incredible. So, it's ejected into space, and yay, the good guys win! But we'd been fooled once. The whole audience sat quiet and unmoving, waiting for the Queen to come back. After all, she'd just been blown into space, not incinerated in the engines or anything like that. Finally, the credits start... and the audience still just sits there. It took a bit of the credits rolling for everyone to recover to the point where people started leaving again. Such an amazing experience!
Yes, there are two more movies in the series (more if you count the Aliens vs Predator movies, or the weird prequels), but really none of them are much worth watching, especially Alien 3, which is an insulting slap in the face to anyone who liked the first two. I recommend avoiding it at all costs, it will just anger and sadden you.
there's a weird little acting triangle with this movie, Bill Paxton and Michael Biehn were in Terminator with Arnold, Vasquez played by Jenette Goldstein goes on to costar with Arnold in Terminator 2 as the step mom

I used to be such a scaredy cat when I was younger, Tara, and I didn't see Alien or Aliens until I was a teenager. Absolutely loved those films once I did see them. Am fascinated more with the making of movies and creature FX and prosthetic makeup etc...
When this movie first came out, more than a few critics noted that Aliens was a sort-of Vietnam War movie. You had your company man, mostly worried about profiteering and not so much about human life. You have your gung-ho soldiers eager for the fight but nowhere near prepared for the enemy to come. You have your field officer, in over his head and not prepared to handle a mission gone awry. (When the lead officer tells his men to unload their weapons, he doesn't really have a backup plan.) The leaders in the field did not know how to command or lead. Ripley yells at the officer to have his troops retreat to safety, but he sits there immobile, stunned and unable to act. And of course, far too many young soldiers died.

To be fair, the cornbread on the Sulacco IS pretty lousy. In the original Alien film, the Alien drone/worker could not lay eggs. Thus, it used the bodies of victims to turn the bodies into eggs - Brett was shown turning into an egg.

So glad you were able to enjoy Aliens. As I suspected, the more action-focused sequel wasn't as "scary" to you as the original. And as you said, it was a great follow-up and put a different spin on the story, but was still every bit as good as the first movie.

In the “Alien” movie universe, the artificial persons are in alphabetical order: Ash, Bishop, Call and David.

Yes, they can absolutely still breathe as long as there is still air in the ship rushing out of the airlock. Given the size of the Sulaco she had some time before the venting would cause a serious loss of atmospheric pressure.
A movie based on true events. That will I believe scare you is The Ghost and the Darkness. The loins stuffed can be found in the Chicago Field Museum. It is said that the experience is unnerving when seeing the exhibit

Third Officer Ripley has been found and "returned to Earth" with a Xenomorph-size case of PTSD. What will The Suits of Weyland-Yutani make of her blowing up the "Nostromo"? How do you know that "Carter Burke" isn't "an OK guy"? He starts talking... 4:14 You are watching the Special Edition version, which I bought as a Laserdisc(!) and discovered important things in Ripley's life that I didn't see in the theater. The Colonial Marines are on a Bug Hunt, but THEY are The Bugs. 10:58 Another Props department work of Art so convincing that construction companies called the studio to find out where they got them! 14:11 Why wasn't Jones the Cat taken by the Xenomorph? Too small to be a host, just like the Hamsters. 16:51 Back in 1986, I was puzzled at how Ripley was able to "get close, quickly" to a traumatized Rebecca. None of the female Marines did, and a reviewer at the time said: "Sisterhood!" After I bought the SE Laserdisc, it was crystal clear how Ripley and Newt were connecting. 19:04 Disarming troops heading into a Hot Zone always bothered me. 22:04 Ripley is all about The Team. 27:10 Sentry Gun Boogaloo, part 1. 28:49 Manual of Arms. 34:20 They went out like Klingon warriors. 36:20 The right tool for the right job made with Duck tape. 36:30 "Dwayne and Ellen" The studio NIXED this? 37:00 I read/heard that Ripley took the warrior ethos from Vasquez' example. 38:02 Egg chamber and The Queen. 40:57 It's not over yet.

I just found your channel a few days ago and your Alien reaction was the first one I watched, so it's nice to see you upload this one now. I'm glad you watched the extended edition. It adds a lot of extra scenes that give some additional context that makes the film work even better than the theatrical version. As far as the other films in the Alien franchise, most people will probably suggest that you stop here. They get worse as they go and Alien 3 in particular isn't very well liked. Prometheus and Alien: Covenant act as sequels but, again, they're not anywhere near the quality of Alien and Aliens. However, if you're really interested in the whole Alien franchise then they're all certainly worth watching but don't expect quite the same experience as the first two films.
If you haven't seen Predator, you might want to watch Predator and Predator 2 and then you can watch Alien vs Predator. It's not a great film, but it's a lot of fun to see both the aliens and Predators on screen together which fans of the franchises had wanted to see for a long time. If you do watch the Predator films, don't start with the new film Prey. It's technically a prequel, but you really need to see Predator first as Prey makes some assumptions about what the audience knows from the Predator film. There's also a small tie in to Predator 2 at the end of Prey, though it's not strictly necessary to have seen Predator 2 before seeing Prey.
You said you like action films so I assume you've seen Terminator and Terminator 2, but If you haven't seen them you should definitely check them out as well. Both were directed by James Cameron who also directed Aliens. Terminator 2, like Aliens, is considered one of the best sequels ever made. If you watch Terminator 2, make sure you see the version with the ending shown in theaters. There's a version with the original ending which test audiences hated and it's better to see that ending later after you've seen the original thetrical ending. Another Cameron film that you'd probably enjoy, assuming you haven't seen it, is True Lies with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.

One thing they don't mention in the film is there was a squad of marines stationed there at Hadleys hope with the colonists as well as a Weyland Yutani science team but to find out what happened before this movie you'll have to read the book Alien River of Pain excellent book!

The actor doing Lt Gorman also did Dr Doofus in Hellraiser 2. Both characters demonstrate similar intelligence.
A radio signal from Mars to Earth takes approximately 5 to 20 minutes, depending on orbital position. A signal from a location that's 10 months from earth, depending on velocity of ship, would take so long everyone would be beyond help by the time the message is received. On a different note, I love how Ripley's hair is soaking wet when she's going up to the compound, but once inside her hair is nice and dry again!
Maybe, considering the advancements in space travel and technology in this movie, they’ve also found ways to make that faster.

I saw this in the theater when I was 17. The television critics of the time, Siskel & Ebert, had mixed opinions on it. Ebert loved the movie, but Siskel said... no lie... "there were just too many aliens." I remember hearing him say that and yelling at the t.v. "the movie is not called HUMANS!!" :D

Given that the cockney rhyming slang term, "berk" is shortened from "Berkeley Hunt" (with the implied rhyme being a certain much stronger four-letter insult), Paul Reiser's character is well named. ^_~
I read once that he took his mother to the premiere and heard her exclaim, "Good!" when Burke opened that door to reveal the alien. Proof of how well he acted the character that she evidently had no bad feelings over seeing her own son meet such a fate.

Just a comment to tell you that Alien 3 is not as bad as people keep saying under every Aliens reaction video. It's directed by one of the best directors - David Fincher. It's different, but it's a good suspenseful movie. The Assembly Cut is the best version.
Alien 3 is very good, I loved it from its release in 1992. It's just so bleak is why most don't like it, I think. Alien 3 is a bleak 'Alien' movie the way the Se7en is a bleak serial killer movie (same director).

They Have ZERO reason to believe her at all on why she destroyed a valuable Ship.
I agree that they have no reason to believe her, but to still hold her accountable after being in hibernation for 57 years and finding out her daughter is dead is pretty disgusting, isn’t it? It doesn’t seem that Weyland-Yutani went bankrupt over that ship, which was just a freighter, and probably one of the least expensive ships they had when compared with their military stuff. That, and the condescending nature with which they were addressing her was really indicative of how evil the “Company” is, IMO.
I’m probably taking all this way too seriously, lol.

basically what happened some people from colony went out to ship got face hugged then Russ (newt's dad) got chestbursted and they grow very fast the first few victims would of been egged morphed (what happens to Brett and Dallas in alien) cocooned the aliens lay the foundations of an egg and the egg consumes you for your nutrients this will eventually produce a royal facehugger which produces a queen and then all new victims just get cocooned and face hugged the colony could of been overrun in a few days (there's a novel called river of pain which is Acheron in Greek legend also name of the moon it's set on. but it has stuff which didn't make sense the movie)

Personally, I recommend skipping the rest of the solo *Alien* films. I hate *Alien³* (IMO it actually taints what occurs in this film). And while *Alien Resurrection* has some cringe bits, I enjoyed it well enough. But many don't like it and I completely understand. It can be skipped and the world will keep turning.
If you want more xenomorph action, I suppose you can get it via the *_Alien vs Predator_* films. Some were fairly well received.
Ultimately, given all of the films yet to be seen, I just think you should stop here with the _Alien_ franchise. 😎👍

The films *Prometheus* and then *Alien Covenant* are very good. Prometheus is a prequel to 1979's Alien and Covenant is a sequel to Prometheus. To be a completist, you'd watch Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection [#4) before Prometheus.

1:00 I can relate to a fear of aliens Tara. I saw Signs in theaters and thats the only movie that ever really scared me. I also used to be both fascinated and horrified by those Unsolved Mysteries segments about alien abductions. 🛸👽😨

I saw this on television late one night sometime in the early 90s. Maybe around the time the 3rd movie was in theatres. It intrigued (and scared) me as it was the first in the franchise that I saw. And I was 13 and still easily frightened by the horror genre. Had no idea that Aliens was a sequel to an earlier film from the year of my birth. Anywho, a few months later I saw all three together on rented VHS

I just want to warn you about something. As you proceed with Alien 3, prepare to get your heart broken. A lot of people hate A3 because they couldn't get their way. But if you can suck it up, you'll see an amazing masterpiece in A3! The cinema photography is so beautiful and it's one heck of a storyline! Imagine facing an alien with NO weapons! Zero! Nada! All you have are your wits! A3 is amazing! But.... if you're wondering about aliens ever reaching Earth..... THAT happens in Alien vs Predator Requiem! Hope to see you there! A3, AResurrection, AvsPredator, and AvsPredator Requiem! Just make sure you stop and watch Predator before you see AvP!
Amazing masterpiece? Sorry, have to disagree, and so do the majority of other viewers and critics. 47% critic score, 46% audience score. I'd say why it's rubbish, but I don't want to give anything away in case she does decide to watch it.

@@elteescat Think what you like, but I know a bad movie when I see one, and Alien 3 was rubbish. Bad script, bad direction, bad acting (even Sigourney was phoning it in), nonsensical plot elements, characters you mostly don't care about, tedious plotting... just terrible. But again, not going into details because she might decide to actually watch it despite so many people warning her against it.

Nice reactions Girl. This is one my favorite Horror movies. The First one and this one are good. Forget about the others they are JUNK. Maybe ""Promethius" ..It's like the ""Pre-Alien" movie. It's pretty well done. I'll give you credit for making a good review. Some of the other reviews Ive watched really not good. The first one was suspense/Horror. This was more Action/Horror. Well next Halloween movie can be EXORCIST., THE SHINING. Maybe JAWS. ok Im a watching

Next, I'm certainly Not an Expert but I do think that You were Right: when Ripley opened that Outer Hatch into Space. Even if there was still plenty of Oxygen within the ship, such a sudden loss of "Cabin Pressure" should have had them both (Ripley & Newt) gasping to breathe! ...Or worse, such an exposure to deep space should have also caused an extreme drop in the temperature: meaning that they could have quickly frozen to death before She'd even closed the Hatch.

The preview at the beginning kind of lessened the intrigue of watching.
I feel the same way. So many people do that, and I just have to skip around to find the actual beginning of the vid.
I appreciate your input on that… unfortunately about 90% of commenters are telling me they LOVE the preview, and it gets them really excited for the video.. while you’re both in the 10% who don’t like it..
Would it help if I added a chapter for when I start talking AFTER the preview?
