    Sure you could go absolutely crazy, but why not do a super budget build? That's what most of us can actually afford, and if we can watch this and picture ourselves doing it, I think that might sell! Like why not a junkyard LQ that you do a quick refresh on? And then show the most cost effective t-56?

  • @lukeworsley5759
    @lukeworsley5759 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    A high reving de-stroked LS3 with a CD09 was what I was thinking of building. 265’s are about the max you can get on the car without a body kit so no need to worry about the torque loss of a lower displacement engine. High rpm naturally aspirated would make a great weekend track car. LS3/T56 is great but it would be nice to see something different.

    • @SikkyTV
      @SikkyTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      T56 Magnum F is the way to go if it's in the budget. The TR6060 is a great trans but it's a bit tall as far as the housing is concerned and the way the shifter sit on it there is some tunnel clearancing that is needed so will require some cutting and a little extra work. The regular t56 and the magnum F are the most bolt in friendly of the options.

    • @kenn.4207
      @kenn.4207 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    LS3 and TR6060, possible HSV diff, for us aussies anyways

    • @SikkyTV
      @SikkyTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah love the tr6060 trans but only issue is it does not fit that good in this car. It fits and works but you need to mod the tunnel top side a little for clearance. Plenty have been done this way just don't expect tr6060 to be bolt in. The trans is set at the theoretical perfect angle but you could space the trans cross member down a little to gain more clearance at the top of the trans but your getting away from ideal geometry as far as the driveshaft and U joints are concerned in relation to the rear end.

  • @tony-does-stuff
    @tony-does-stuff 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks like your website has a list of LS engines, and the LSA looks like you get the most horsepower per liter? That's my current goal when I eventually get to swap a BRZ. LSA with a T56 Magnum.
    I'm also still new to the car world lol. I specialize more in bikes so I could be dead wrong here.

    • @TrojanLube69
      @TrojanLube69 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You gonna need some hard cash for that. Is not only engine and transmission and call it a day. There is a shit ton of drivetrain replacement to handle that power.

    Something LS2, LS3, T56 or TR6060.
    Have you guys got any recommendations as to which is a nicer gearbox out of the T56 or TR6060? I've driven the older T56 and felt it was very clunky, I've always owned Nissan's and they're usually really nice for gear shifting etc. I'm umming and ahhing about which gbox.
    I also hope the AUD strengthens, paying 30% more on top of your asking price with the LS will hurt my wallet!

      I just bought a TR6060, would rather not have to deal with bellhousing kits etc. Thanks for the info anyway, greatly appreciate it

      Out of the trans you listed the t56 would fit better in this car. The TR6060 is a better trans though. You can have the best of both worlds and go t56 magnum F but that obviously costs a bit more. Bulletproof trans though.

      Does the tunnel need more massaging with the TR6060 or is it just tight to get access around it?

    I think a 4l80 with a 6.2 truck motor that would show what most guys would do

    • @SikkyTV
      @SikkyTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I like the idea of the more budget minded build. 4l80 will likely be a tight fit in that tunnel though. We never tested a 4l80 just a 6l80 and 4l60.
