When Boy Scouts are promoted to the life long title Eagle Scout, they do a project that gives back to their local community. Often people clean places or build or repair structures that can be used all.
It's too bad Eagle Scout doesn't carry the weight it used to a long time ago. I wasn't a scout, but I think it used to be an outstanding organization. The decline of Boy Scouts is reflective of the increasingly rapid decline of our American society over the last 40 years or so.
The golf course, I believe, is called Hunters Oak. Back in the day it was a really nice course. It fell into financial issues and other problems. It's changed hands multiple times and currently, from what I last heard, someone is trying to bring it back to its former glory. 1 of the 3 courses is was open last time I was there, but that was a while ago.
The eagle sign is referring to boy scouts who have to do a big project to be granted the almighty Eagle Scout promotion. Not a Boy Scout but I had a few buddies in high school who had to do Eagle Scout projects. Lol
Dude, I recently found out about the SCL500, and I found your channel and have been bingewatching your videos! You're so fun to listen to and I just wanted to say thank you for your content. I currently have a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and looking to sell so I can get me this Honda scrambler!
As a former resident of Ocean City, MD, I can tell you that the Eastern Shore is one of the best areas to drive around and just discover things. There's so many areas that are off the beaten trail to see.
I just got this same bike a few weeks ago, As I'm barely learning to ride, i can already tell that it handles rain way better than my previous owned 2017 Nissan Versa..
Duuuuuude. I have been watching your videos for so long. Always wanted a grom but after watching the videos of your scrambler..... this video makes me want one sooooo bad. Awesome vid man.
Eagle as in "Eagle Scout" lol. Just a boyscout project, I think they have to do some big project to become eagle scouts or something? I don't know, I have family who were scouts but I never was.
Yup, correct lol. I became an eagle scout, my project was helping an old lady fix up her old house. So obviously I didn't put a plaque on her house or anything marking what I'd done 😂 but the final project is just anything that displays your personal skills and leadership skills to assist your community in some way
Hey Burch! Love the videos (: I had a question about your 1100, what are the highway bars? Where did you get them? Have you done a vid about them? Please let me know! I’d love those that just stick out like that to rest my legs! Thanks!
They’re crash sliders from Burly Brand! I didn’t do a video strictly about them, but I did show them, talk about the install, and show bit of how I can rest my legs on them, in this video here- th-cam.com/video/ePm9D_EEz6o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HXBRoi7qMFqsZtNV
Dude this thing is sooo much fun!! And yea that golf course still blows my mind and confuses me 😂 I went home and looked it up and apparently it’s a functioning golf course still, but they took it down to 9 holes? I don’t know super weird…
I bet you've already said this in a video but how would you compare the scrambler to the rebel 1100? And which would you recommend to someone with the 300?
Comparing the SCL500 to the Rebel 1100 really is an apples to oranges comparison. The only thing they have in common is the Honda name. Aside from that they’re totally different bikes built for totally different purposes, so it’s nearly impossible to compare them. And as far as a recommendation, before deciding, you really just have to ask yourself which riding style you prefer, how much power you need/are comfortable with, how much tech you want, what your budget is, etc. There’s not really a one-size-fits-all answer there, especially when the bikes are so different. Hope that helps!
@@LifeOfBurch yeah thats a big help, about what i expected. I got to sit on an SCL and loved it, and coming from a dual sport 250 just trying to decide that sweet spot, one bike that can do both moderately well, or keep the Crf and add a Rebel
Love how well this bad boy scrambles! It's on my short list for a second bike, I'd really love to get a scrambler as a backup bike alongside my cruiser. I'm going to wait to make a decision until those new Triumph Scrambler 400s come to the states, those bikes look like a lot of fun too and I'm a bit of a Triumph fanboy lol
I wasn’t originally planning on changing them, but after this trip and seeing how much fun it is on gravel and dirt, I have been looking at getting some more aggressive tires! Probably not full blown knobby tires, but definitely something more aggressive like the Shinko 705’s. We’ll see!
I have a Bell Race Star DLX and absolutely love it! It has a Transitions face shield, so it automatically darkens based on the sun. I never have to worry about carrying an extra face shield if I’m going to be riding all day 🤘🏻
Was thinking of waiting for the Triumph 400x but since you've got the scl I've changed my thinking to the Honda for a commuter and fun bike. Keep up the great content
Ayy glad I could sway you! This thing really is an absolute blast!! I’ll be trying to get my hands on the Triumph 400 scrambler for a test ride when they come out too 🤘🏻
Quad Lock Pro with vibration dampener! It really is the best mount out there. We have one on literally each of our 6 bikes! You can use code LIFEOFBURCH for 10% at QuadLockCase.com too 🙌🏻
Sorry Burch, but I really wish you had a plan or goal in mind before starting to shoot a video. Really any sort of content beyond "I went to some place" really. Love your channel and your style, but the recent "I saw some seagulls / a girl on a bike / gravel" videos aren't doing it for me.
This entire video is just one huge "SQUIRREL!" XD

Just got my CL500 today. Your videos were a huge inspiration. Keep up the content!
dude ur literally verbalizing my thoughts. Love ur content! ill keep watching
Eagle project is something that every boyscout does to graduate.

Aliens !
Part of becoming an Eagle Scout is doing a community benefitting project. Those bathrooms were somebody's project.
Hey Burch! The eagle project is his eagle scout project for boy scouts! It's the highest rank to achieve and very hard to do so!
I just got this same bike a few weeks ago, As I'm barely learning to ride, i can already tell that it handles rain way better than my previous owned 2017 Nissan Versa..
I’d leave the fender (raise it with spacers for clearance) and get some 50/50 tires. Enjoy the dirt exploration Birch!
Duuuuuude. I have been watching your videos for so long. Always wanted a grom but after watching the videos of your scrambler..... this video makes me want one sooooo bad. Awesome vid man.
I would keep that rear fender. It doesn’t look so bad. I put a tail tidy on my ninja Z 400 and regret it when I go through puddles of water😂
You should trt customizing the bike into a tracker style of bike, trackers look like cafe racers but with off road tyres and tracking handlebars
Eagle as in "Eagle Scout" lol.

Yea I realize that now…but in the moment I’ll be damned if it didn’t look like an eagle nest 🦅🚽😂😂😂

The saint Andrew’s golf vibe means lots of “heather” meaning overgrown roughs. Like the real saint Andrew’s overseas.
Next month, October, is the 25th anniversary of the Wye River Memorandum. Look it up cuz you was in .... then!😂😂
Fun way to follow your heart!!
Nice motorcycle. I love the off road capabilities.
Where did you get the mirrors? Or what kind are they?
Just crossed 1,000 miles on my Navi and got the speedometer cable recall addressed. The same week crossed 10,000 miles on my Rebel 500
Hell yea, hittin all the milestones!! 🙌🏻 I still need to handle my Navi’s speedo cable recall 😅
Really thinking about getting one as a first bike. I am 5'7". I may go Monday and sit on one to see how it fits.
how did it go? from the sound it might be a touch high for you
Getting big The Walking Dead vibes from you riding through those fields with flocks of birds coming over, no one in sight.
Hi Burch. Have same motocicle. Did you know that you can change gears without a clutch ;)
Are you using the Quad Lock with the Fork Stem Mount or the Handle Bar Mount?
Great video Burch !!! 🤙🏽
How do those mirrors fair on the scl? I put very similar ones on my grom but they rattle too much to be real reliable
I have a question, I know that this bike have ABS only, but can you tell me that the Rebel have ABS only, or it you can disable it?
Man what I would give to ride in areas like this, hardly anybody in site. Might need to move haha.
I think I mentioned the fender delete thing.
Scramblin' on the Honda Scrambler haha that thing looks like so much fun.
Also yes, that is a shit golf course. They are usually VERY well kept.

On my KLR the only thing I clean is the chain.
4:20 Out of Body Experiences man, crazy shit.
And it happened at 4:20! 😳🤯

Honestly same! I'm hoping the Triumph is as good of a bargain as it is in India - it's gonna give the CL500 a run for it's moneyyyyy
Went out to ride scrambler
Ended up in Silent Hill
What rear suspension do you have on your 500?
The suspension on this is all stock still!
Damn, second this time! 😉👍 --QM
Still made it on the podium though! 🙌🏻🏆
Any plans for upgrading the tires on the scrambler's tires to something a little more aggressive?

Random question, what kind of helmet do you have? I’m leaning towards a shoei
