The CURSE of My $1M (!!!) Ferrari Purosangue!

- I can't believe this has happened again! My Ferrari Purosangue has been cursed during this Euro tour, but it's time to drive all the way from Monaco to The Shmuseum. Along the way, we need to talk about the current insane values of the Ferrari Purosangue and the offers I've received!
We've been on the road for two weeks, and it's been a fortnight filled with cancellations, delays, holdups, problems and not one puncture, but now a second as well! After picking up a nail in Belgium which we luckily were able to resolve with a new tyre at Maranello Motors Ferrari Koln, I never thought we might get a second on the same trip, but thankfully this one is easily repaired and a trip to Le Pneu by Stars MC just outside of Monaco is the solution we needed to get the drive underway.
After setting off from the South of France, the route takes us up the Autoroutes to a night stop in Lyon, before continuing onwards via a checkpoint at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It's then onwards to the Eurotunnel crossing under The English Channel and back home to The Shmuseum. Along the way, we can talk about what's happened with the market value for the Ferrari Purosangue; of course a car in very high demand but with exceptionally few cars already delivered - and those only offered to customers who like myself are passionate about the brand and have no interest in selling them.

@@OriginalNoseBleed that's not just Ferrari, other brands also have similar politics to make sure their clients are indeed buying cars for themselves. John Cena had issues with Ford when he decided to sell his Ford GT before the one-year minimum time
I think one of the most impressive things Tim ever does with his cars, isn't all the miles, or refusing to sell for massive profits, or the crazy colour schemes, it's that he willingly takes them to not only deal with Parisian drivers, but he also willingly takes them around the Arc de Triomphe roundabout!
He (any owner) is not allowed to sell the car as Ferrari contracts do not allow it - they have the right to buy it back at original price if he upsets Ferrari in any way.
@@BMH1965 There are ways around that though, it's been done plenty of times. Obviously, doing so can make it harder for you to get Ferrari's in the future, especially the limited/special ones, so it probably wouldn't be a smart move on Tims part. However, it's certainly possible to sell cars like these for the massively inflated amounts they go for when in high demand.

Tim..This is what you do best….travel reporting and showing us just what it is like to own and drive cars few will ever own. It is totally correct to drive yours..a 2 mile garage ornament is not a car but only a possession. Yours has miles and history which I don’t think will dent its value long term…it might even enhance it! Have a wonderful Christmas and keep driving…I’m looking forward to the Roma Spyder….that is just about the only new one I could aspire to….then the insurers would laugh at the idea! The Purosangue is a stunning car that has grown on me. Your spec is beautiful (even though I am not a fan of the repetitious blue Ferrari specs) and am glad that you not only got an early one, but are really putting in the miles and enjoying your ownership.

And on top of that you got the model wrong, it doesn't look like the Crown SUV (It's actually called the State) it looks like the Crown Sport which is a smaller Crown SUV.

Glad you found the E-Movis tag helpful, I found it worked sometimes or not, and it took ages to raise the barrier, at least twice I had to reverse out and approach a different barrier with resultant swear words from other car users, and I notice you just waved the sensor about rather than affix it to the windscreen. It spoiled my holiday, approaching dozens of tollbooths with dread in case it didn't work. I'm not sure it's cheaper either.

I know another of the lucky ones that has a first allocation Purosangue. He has had a number of Ferraris as well as a few other high end supercars and he says this is an absolutely fascinating automobile. To date, his most favorite car he has owned because it fits seamlessly into every road car desire category he could have in a car he could literally drive everyday. Personally I think it’s uniquely beautiful in pretty much every way. Ferrari smacked it out of the park with this car for sure. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

How blessed are you to travel the world in exotic cars. I've never been to Europe. I have never seen any TH-cam video, where a car drives out of Monaco somewhere. I also have never seen that train before. Does go under the channel? I've always been a poor man, never seen the world. At my age 64, I probably never will. I have. Between travelling with wifey andcfriends, I’m probably taking 15-20 outbound flights per year. On top of that, I love road trips. There is not a month where I don’t travel. In December alone, I have been to the UK, Dubai and Italy. In November I was in Berlin, Barcelona San Fran and Helsinki.
Take the $1m offer and run man! These will drop big time in 1-2 years

In 2014 I bought a new Ford Ka on PCP. In 20 months and under 10,000 miles I had 3 punctures, the last one just a week before I changed it for a Fiesta - was going to go to the dealers to sign the papers and had to change a flat first :-( The first one was when the car had less than 1000 miles on the clock. Some cars just seem prone to punctures. Tyre technology is rubbish, really. Part of the reason I changed it before the initial 24 month PCP was up was that the punctures were getting me down

Tim don't underestimate how much your name adds to the value of the car. Everyone knows a Tim spec will be fully optioned and optioned correctly like it should be. You've owned lots of high end cars so you kniw how to order a car and get what needs to be on there and what doesn't.

I have never heard of anyone in the Ferrari or exotic car community who are interested in his cars on the used market. If that was the case, do you really think his Senna would still be up or sale?
There is not much what did me scare, but the the roundabout at arc de triomphe certainly falls under this.
Telepeage tags are great but there's no discount for using them - in fact theres some modest admin charges on top of the tolls. As you were .

I made a similar trip in a rented Audi A5 TDI 3.0 and it seemed just as nice as driving that Ferrari. The four-wheel drive really stuck to the road driving from Switzerland to the French Alps.
Frankly, once you're on the Autoroute, I don't see what difference the badge on the nose of the car makes.
Ya kno, you can buy a good kit for £20 and you can do it yourself? It’s pretty straightforward, take a pair of pliers, take out whatever is in it, ream out the hole with the ream tool and make it slightly bigger and rough up the rubber, then use the other tool in the kit to install the plug with some rubber cement on it and then trim the plug. It could keep you on the road and will last til you get back to the UK…
Or you pay a tire shop £40-50 to do it and they use a patch by taking the tire off the rim and seal inside. Just a thought
I don't have a good feeling about the Ferrari prices. No matter which model, from the 360 to the LaFerrari, they've all gone up. This is a clear sign of a bubble, but I have no idea when it will burst.
1 million for an SUV is just too much, especially because the predecessors FF and GTC4Lusso were not really successful, there was no oversticker and Shmee bought them used instead of new.
I trust Manny Khoshbin. He canceled his SF90 allocation because they wanted to sell him numerous other cars like the Purosangue. He doesn't currently have a Ferrari in his collection, even though his son is called Enzo. I know other collections who have every car from Porsche to Pagani except Ferrari.
I had the same feeling at Ferrari Munich. Unbelievably unsympathetic. I wanted to find out about the 296 GTB, which I can't afford at the moment, but maybe in 1-2 years. Then I decided I'd rather burn the money than give it to these morons and ordered an M3 xDrive on the same day and have had a lot of fun ever since. Next goal Lamborghini.

Without failure, no matter what precautions (e.g. angle, location, etc.) you take to isolate your parked vehicle some oblivious clown will somehow manage to ding your doors... It's one of autolife's unfortunate realities.

At minute 6:50, looking at the piece surrounding the yellow upper component, that darker ring around it looks like it's soaked in hydraulic fluid from the suspension indicating a possible leak. I hope not though.
Love it! But my £8k 4.4 TDV8 L322 is also amazingly comfy and a probably costs the same as a single wheel on the Ferrari!!

It’s not just you, in September I purchased 4 new tyres for my 2019 Mustang GT. Last week on Thursday I got a low pressure warning for the offside rear, damage right by the sidewall so irreparable, new tyre required. Tyre replaced on Saturday and all tyres checked as part of the Tyre Shops usual practice. The next day I get a low pressure warning for the near side rear, this time a screw which turned out to be repairable when I visited the same Tyre Shop on Monday!
Most likely there are screws laying around on your street. Anyone doing a renovation? Had the same thing happen to me as well

Hey Tim, sorry to hear about all the bad luck you've been having im sure things will return to normal soon. I've got a quick question. With all the countries you visit and drive through I wondered, how many different languages do you know fluently to be able to communicate on your vast travels?. Cheers.
He's English so probably none😂we are notoriously bad at learning new languages because basically everyone speaks English.

You must know that we have "EZ Pass" here in the US, which does much the same thing as far as your Euro pass, speeding you through toll booths. Shortened my drive time to NYC from DC by at least 20-30 minutes when we got an account, about 15 years ago, at least. Thanks for the tour through Paris. One never forgets its landmarks and great beauty, and yes, the craziness of the traffic.

Tim have you thought about using tire plugs for punctures? I know you wouldn't want to go silly speeds with one in a tire, but much better than all the hassle and could get you out of a tight spot.
I'd say we all need a big dose of Tim's "bad luck" in our lives... wtaf does this guy achieve?
Plug would be good if needed to get you to the tire shop, but a proper vulcanized internal patch gives one peace of mind when making a 900 mile journey with a $500k plus car.
@@pedalmike Yeah I get that, but it would be much better and safer to drive with a plug in for a few hours or even a day or so instead of driving about with a nail in it, that could fall out at any-time.
As long is they put a radial patch and not a plug you should be good for the rest of your journey

I’d sell it while it’s in high demand at the moment. The bubble has burst on the exotic market if anyone hasn’t noticed. Beautiful car but you have your limited Ferrari now and it’s definitely time to cash in.

Two things. One he will get blackballed by Ferrari for doing so, and secondly, here in Europe, the market hit its plateau a while ago. It is slowly coming back here. The US is different, they are just getting started, and the insane inflation there was, means that it is going to hurt, badly.

16mpg haha! 20 gallon tank, that’s about 300 miles, more like 250 around town. 10K miles a year is about 4K a year on fuel. Plus the deprecation of this car within 3 years. I’d be amazed if it doesn’t lose half its value.

We lucked out recently. Managed to bag a genuine classic MK1, 1.6 Ford Focus with only 140,000 miles on it for a song. Probably a lot less than a tyre for this thing.

currently finding fueling station to refuel definitely beats finding a fast charger.
telepeage doesn't make such a big difference when there are big traffic jams since the highway is blocked before it expands to multiple lanes so it's not like you can move ahead of the queue.
For such a high class place, Monaco has some fairly budget looking tunnels. The tunnel you went through right before getting the tire replaced looked like a mine shaft.

Shmee was probably one of the first customers to get a purosangue. Pretty good move from ferrari - they are not realy know to do stuff with social media influencers. But shmee is one of the few that allign with the expectation ferrari has for its customers. He also moved up in status by owning 3 brand new ferraris + the roma + the fxx.
Just wait a few years and puresangues will be as common as a lambogini urus or a g63 (if ferrari is able or willing to fullfill customer demand). Prices will go down. I am also pretty sure that ferrari will make an entry level puro.
its not the list price, its sold out everybody wants it, so people are offering lots of money for it. I can imagine he got an Offer for 1M

I have this 1969 MG Midget, fully restored. 1.8cc VVC engine, Ford 5-speed, Frontline fuel injected, Emerald ECU, Minilites, 0-60 on the flywheel at 3.7 seconds. A very old antique. Gosh it rattles and moans, such fun. Road legal.

If you can get 1 million or even 750 you should absolutely take it business wise. You can get another in a few months when the price goes down and you have plenty of other cars to drive. Also to be honest, i really dont like it nearly as much as the GT4lusso

@@davidmarshall6409 kinda sad then. Honestly this is the least interesting car i think tim has ever had. A poor sound, a really unattractive color and not really an SUV. To me its no more than a GR YARIS with a horse logo and a v12. I find it really uninspiring considering what other companies are doing on this end. Porsche to me nailed the concept. More keen to see Ferrari try to do a rally style car. I find the huracan to be a great concept but quite ugly. Would love to see Ferrari do something more like the GT4 Lusso as a rally car rather than this
