I am using Blender 4.1. Shortcuts have been changed except for general Knife Key "K". New Shortcuts are listed below: Multiple Cuts: "E" Changed to "Left Mouse Button" Center Point Selection: "Ctrl" Changed to "Shift" Angle Constraint: "C" Changed to "A" (or for more precise angle use "S") Selecting Cut through: "Z" Changed to "C" Note⚠: If you like to add more info, related to shortcuts, please reply to this thread so that others can get benefit from this. Anyways it's a great video Thanks for uploading this whole playlist. ❤👍😃❤👍😃
Thanks thats useful but in my case to make "Multiple Cuts" I need to use "Right Mouse Button". Idk if it depends on the Preferences with the "Select With Mouse Button" but anyways. Besides, I recommend you guys sometimes to look up at the shortcuts menu like the author said at 6:20, it always displays the relevant shortcuts of the current tool you are using in Blender (accordingly to your blender version) Have fun with learning
Quick comment: in version 3.0 the "new cut" is done with RMB instead of "e" (also shown accordingly in the bottom information bar when using the keyboard shortcut). In fact there are some other changes as well, e.g. the midpoint snap and ignore snap have been swapped around, so look carefully.
Yeah, I am using version 4.0 and I knew they must have changed some things. I first learned how to do 3D modeling in 3Ds Max, but because Blender has now become the standard I have been trying to learn all the stuff I know from 3Ds Max in Blender, and so far the knife tool is by far the worst tool. None of the keys seem to do what he said they do. 'CTRL', 'C' and 'Z' all seem to not work as shown in the video. He might need to update some of these videos. 😅
This is a great series on the basics of Blender. Never knew so much about the Knife and Bisect tools ( and I have been a Blender hobbyist for 3 years. I'm a subscriber and thumbs-upper.
Thanks for taking the effort of making these videos and sharing Your knowledge. Best regard [P.S. The "Bisect tool" only operates on selected edges, at least in the version I'm in using presently (V.3.4.1)]
I'm learning so much from your tutorials, one of the best I've found here on TH-cam and I'm so fortunate to have come across your channel, do you have videos related to motion graphics or basic 2d animations? I'm trying to learn as much as I can about that part of blender
Thank you a lot sir! Cool introduction. Helps me a lot. Could you put the keyboard-shortcut changes mentioned in the comments either in a pinned top comment or in the video description? had to stop your video and look through the comments to find the new keyboard shortcuts.
"You can't just cut a hole on the surface of a mesh." Doom guy: 4:06 Joking aside, thanks for the tutorial. I hated the UI change and thought I'd left Blender for good. Turns out it is not that hard to get used with new UI Really appreciate the lessons! Thank you very much!
I said the same thing when they changed the interface the first time. 1.3 or something like that. Now I'm comfortable with 2.6 & it's changed again. Once you get going, it's not that hard to figure it out because these are "Logical" people building this great software~!
I am very much enjoying your videos. Your information is clear and easy to follow and quite organised. So many folks are teaching by creating models or scenes which really only shows the tool being used to get the end result. Those videos really do not explain the tools used or their different settings as well as your videos. Have you considered creating a course in Udemy that contains this information and adding a section for practical application and creation in an online classroom setting? Lecture first, assignment second. I would love to be able to interact in a class where we can have a Q&A.
Hello mr. Colin, i really appreciate your amazing tutorials, they have always been clear and easy to follow, but can i suggest you to upload series tutorials about Android studio, and how to make an android application with Kotlin or Java. I will definitely share your channel and videos to all of my numerous friend if u willing to do that, once more, thanks a lot for your hard work. God bless.
HEY! Thanks for you videos! Let me suggest something. When going through the menus and options could you make very quick demonstrations of each one? For example in the "cutting a mesh in two part" I would like to know what the "axis threshold" is for, even if no commentary is added.
Hi Colin.. is there any way you can point out how to sync users short keys and tool functionality to match the ones you demonstrate in this video? the reason I ask, is your short key for edge or edge loop select using the Alt + LM doesn't seem work on my version (2.93.1) also the Bisect tool doesn't to function the way you have shown in this video on my end.. not sure why?
oh, under Linux in Blender 3 for the Knife tool they seems to have changed all the keyboard combinations: CRTL switched with SHIFT, A is angle constraint not C...
Sir please complete the tutorial of Godot 2D Platformer Game! Humble Request. I understand you are currently working on blender but please complete that thing first...
I am wondering why your not using version 2.93.1 or later whats the reason?..is it because not all short keys work as you are demonstrating in this video?
I tried this bisect tool and I cut a sphere and then I try to cut it again and there's no faces on he object. I thought I could use this to cut pieces from objects to make them look like low poly.
This bisect tool kinda fails as it can't snap to the grid :( I was trying to do a perfect 45 degree cut through some modular walls I'm making in order to get corner walls.
I'm definitely going to get back to it! I wanted to focus my summer (last July/Aug) as much as I could to Blender, so now you're seeing those videos come out as I'm editing them. Godot is also very much in my mind's eye for videos to come!
@@BornCG That's great! I started coding the game with your tutorial and I left it there in "stand by" waiting to see those upcoming videos, hopefully you bring them back soon :)

Only tutorial Intros worth watching! Tks...
This tutorial just save a tons of hours of work. You can even imagine how useful it's for some many people like me, so just thaks!

I learned a lot from this video , thank you very much.
I need to start practicing more with this tool. I think it could be a great solution for creating loops for the face.
Thanks for taking the effort of making these videos and sharing Your knowledge.

5:37 this "E" is now right mouse key
Is there a way to slice angles and my gizmo disappears when I move it

Thing is... the knife tool doesn't really cut. It just adds an edge or a loop cut.
It does not work. After clicking a next point, the line vanishes. There are no green squares at all.
It's not "E" for enter?
this took me some time to realize but its RM now
