After the wet harvest of 1956 we bought a second hand Alice Charmers 60 bagger with petrol /T.V.O. for our 30 Acres in the Severn Vale as the contractor let us down. The slide was removed and replaced with a platform so the bags could be put straight onto a trailer .There is one at Breamore Countryside Museum,Fordingbridge Hants. Vintage machinery should be seen working so the youth of today know how hard it was to bring home the Harvest.Great Video.
I have some more video of the event that I will edit soon. It includes more combines, steam ploughing and tractors cultivating. Thanks for the comment.
I love these machines from the days before hydraulics, when everything was driven by chains and sprockets and belts - and from the days before Health & Safety was thought of 😀
My grandad hahad a sail reaper at the back of a cart shed My father said he only used once when it was so wet that five suffolks abreast couldn"t pull the binder Women from the village bound the sheeefs by hand According to my dad the hand bound straw was threshed sheef were threshd with a flail on the grannery floor and the straw sold at a premium for thatching That would be about134

Just a really cool video! Love the McCormick pull type combine - I was born too late, old farm equipment is just AWESOME!
Thanks 👍
Just a great video. Nice camera work. Wonderful old machines.
Thanks for the video and your time to do it.

@@Casterton-Vintage Thanks. I’ll be watching for it.
All cutting edge in their day

There are some clever mechanisms on some of the machines that you would never see in the modern world.
Looks like great day what a sight too see that bmd & trailed combine. And all the other various machines I don’t think I’ve ever seen before
WOW, somebody spent a lot of time "refreshing" the self propelled Massey Harris combine, it's beautiful!
Thank you.
Fond memories of the Fordson Major. What's the home-made job at 9:15, a Fiat?
Lovely vid - thanks.
I think it is a Morris.
Great video, you can’t have too many combine harvesters!
Glad you liked the video. There is no such thing as "too many combines", just "not enough room in your shed"!
looks fun day out.
Such a better pace of life .
Those old combines without a grain tank we're still a lot of work.
But still better than the thrashing drum 🙂
good combine video😊
Thank you 😋
@Casterton Vintage where are you located? England?
Yes, I'm in the middle of England.
@@Casterton-Vintage, great looking old equipment! I love the older stuff!! Look forward to seeing more.

caboclinha sertaneja sua beleza me encanta
Good way to lose your family pet, through a combine or a baler!!
