Love how they went with the squared route, everything seems to be getting a little bubbly nowadays.
You have EVs to thank for that, the teardrop design is a must in EVs because it's the most aerodynamic shape to reduce drag and improve efficiency.
@@CumBrianFriesyes that is true but with computer simulations we can make a box fly 😏. Though not the most aerodynamic they can still reduce drag using different design ques
I agree! I feel SUV/trucks are suppose to have a masculine, rugged look and feel to them. Keep those feminine and dainty curved body styles for the crossover soccer moms and leave our off road tanks alone!
Yes, 4x4 utility vehicles need to be squarish to facilitate, mods, fixtures, etc. Just like the famous land rover defender.

As a past Lexus owner and enthusiast since their inception, I have to admit that one looks incredible … seemingly evoking the original LX450 from ‘96 - can’t wait to see them out in the streets.
I thought exactly the same thing when I saw the back end. It looks like my 80!

Only gripe I got is the AC/Heated seats integrated in the touch screen. Hopefully in future year models you will have physical buttons for it. Literally all manufacturers need to stop doing this

This is the first new Lexus is the last 10 years that I was immediately impressed with the styling and design. It’s handsome, aggressive, but also subtle and refined. Please, continue designing your vehicles with this same language. I guarantee Lexus will see a massive jump in popularity. The past designs have actually been what kept me away from buying a Lexus, but I would be proud to own one of these. Great job.
Completely agree. The previous ones- any with that obnoxious 'spindle grille' concept- are too dispiritingly ugly to drive. Looks like they finally fired the tacky running shoe designer responsible for that. Will be getting one of these.
I don't care what anyone say I really think Lexus Did a good job with the GX design, as Lexus is starting to introduce more SUVs into their line up with the new TX coming soon, they really made a point in making this SUV stand out from the more generic design on the LX and prior Lexus SUV models. I almost get Land Rover vibes with this new brawny off-roady and more upright design.

I gotta tell you, I'm loving the new GX's off-road capabilities! Those 33" tires, center and rear locker, and that 8,000 lbs towing capacity are just awesome. Off-road enthusiasts are totally raving about it too, and I can totally see why. It's got this rugged and aggressive look that sets it apart from other Lexus SUV models, and it's even drawing comparisons to legendary off-road vehicles like the Land Rover Defender and the Mercedes G-Class. I dig it!

Former owner of a new GMC Denali, a Ranger Rover Sport V8 Supercharged, and a Range Rover Sport V8 naturally aspirated, I just purchased a new 2023 GX460 Premium Plus with a handful of options, including a must have trailer hitch. Call me boring, but I wanted an old school balanced and tuned to perfection naturally aspirated V8, no hybrid nonsense anywhere to be found, and with such a refined smooth transmission, Mark Levinson Surround, this GX is truly a work of art inside and out. I loved my GMC Denali, it was super reliable and the engine note was otherworldly along with having a ton of power, I think this GX is going to be a much better fit for me realistically.
Finally, back to the box and no oversized grills. Looks amazing!

I am just really hoping there is some sort of semblance of the 2000 LX470. Ever since I heavily modified my 100 series 7 years ago I fell in love with the car. Ever since then I have always said that if Lexus ever released an updated model it would easily compete with the G-class’ from Mercedes. I can’t wait to see what Lexus has in store for us! Time to give Mercedes a run for their money! 💪

Looks like a combination of the LX 600 and current gen 4Runner? Probably what the next 4Runner will resemble! I absolutely love the new GX. I can definitely see Toyota hanging their own version of this.
Looks like a Defender, Bronco and Wagoneer all rolled into one. Not that thats necessarily a bad thing.
Absolute BEAST mode. Love the utilitarian look of this car. Lexus killed it! Hoping this gives us a little tease of the next gen 4Runner design.

Thank you for adding the hybrid. It was the main criteria for upgrading to a GX from the wife (she did not say it had to count for mpg). This will compliment my GSF perfectly in my garage!
I am absolutely not disappointed with this redesign. Always liked the GX but couldn't get around the dismal gas mileage. Hope this will solve that problem.

I've owned a GX for almost 10-years - fantastic vehicle. Love the look of the new 550. Wish it kept a V8 though.
What keep a very reliable v8 and change it out for some pile of junk turbo 6....?????, that make too much sense, Lexus Management like to screw things up....they are moronic

Wow team. You've really outdone yourself. It looks great. Even the front grill that everyone is getting tired of just has a minor change to make it look really awesome, by cutting it off at the bottom a little. I aspire to own one of these someday!

Toyota not giving this a power tailgate window like in the 4runner and last-gen Sequoia is a huge missed opportunity because the boxy upright rear profile looks like it could have easily accommodated that!
