It’s like the more I learn I learn about anxiety, the more I realize it’s all about allowing your body and mind to do what it needs to do, and not doing anything about it and doing the OPPOSITE of what your brain tells you. I suffered with extreme insomnia for a couple of months and it’s only when I went to my room and allowed myself to experience the panic and the physical symptoms without forcing myself to try to sleep, but staying up. It’s like tour reaction and response tells your brain that it’s no longer a threat.

I have had many phases of insomnia coming and going, currently in one. I can definitely tell though that I respond in a much less reactive way. Though after a week of it, I do get a bit emotional about it...but that's what happens too when you don't sleep well. But at least it's not a full scale panic attack and docotor visit and more new supplements every time. I do breathing, or somatic release exercises, or revisit happy memories, or imagine positive future events, take a spoonful of honey.... and just focus on doing things to make myself feel safe.

Irritated right now. Feel like I understood everything, I was responding perfectly, wasn’t even threatened anymore by it. Suddenly I got hit with a lot of fear and I’m stuck in a loop right now. Just not letting it go like I was. Hopefully I get through this soon

I was good for 4 mnths..nothing ..I was in heaven for monrhs, even slept, Finally.
Woke up 2 weeks ago. And about an hr later I got the weird negative thoughts again and that falling light headed feeling just making food in the kitchen and. Voila...anxiety . And it was so so soon hard not to try and fix it. So I had to stand there and take it. I felt like it's bitch 😂
I kept cooking while a full panic attack was starting, I just let go like he suggested. Usually I would put my shoes on grab the dogs and run out the door to try and get some air and go for a walk....but that's running from it.! So I didn't. So hard to do.

Once you understand it's a protective mechanism over firing, it helps alot. It just means you felt threatened on some level and your nervous system launched a full scale response to protect you. That's why your response is key. If you respond the way you used to, then it knows "this is still a legit threat". If you have a new response, it goes "hmm..ok..maybe that high level was not necessary..aybe we can scale back on that next time." So it's gradual, but you can really retrain this.

Shaan, do you have any videos for caretakers of people with anxiety and what they can do to support and empower someone while they're panicking or having high anxiety? It's hard for me to think straight when Im very anxious and I'd love for my husband to have some tools for supporting me instead of just sayd "you need to do this..." I understand it's out of love but it doesn't help.

My son feels the same way and it’s when he is almost in a panic attack. He worries the doctors have missed something. He has a GERD cough, been diagnosed with GERD but because he’s worked at a chemical plant a few times out of a year, he thinks something is wrong with his lungs. So he forces a cough, which spirals into hyperventilation and then comes the weak legs and feeling like he can’t walk. I feel so sorry for everyone that experience these symptoms. I am researching and sending him these videos while he is searching on lung cancer, etc.
If only he could figure out how to take responsibility …. How does someone in panic do that?

Phobias are def dear related...and they can cause anxiety...when u settle down and feel more in control phobias will slowly subside. U just have no faith in yourself right now due to all the anxiety. It strips you of your pride and faith in yourself ....don't let it. When you swallow you don't choke or die. I've been there. It feels weird and hard to swallow but nothing happens. I scared myself for nothing. Sip water throughout the day ..cool was tea in a Thermos. Loosens the throat muscles.

It’s not a scam. But some people that don’t see improvement right away quit the course and say it’s a scam. I have recovered a lot just by following his videos. Some people really think anxiety is forever but it’s not true. Remember when you didn’t deal with this ? Yeah , lowering stress and anxiety is more than possible. I had panic attacks every day in 2016 however at that time I thought it was because I used to drink a lot of alcohol so I stopped drinking and thought that now they will go away. I didn’t fear any situation because I had panic attacks even while I was asleep so there was no “safe space”. Every place was equally vulnerable. With a lot of exposure I completely healed myself. For the next 3 years I travelled to many countries alone and did crazy adventures like trekking to Everest base camp, flying to the most dangerous airport in the world, cycling in national parks in Kenya, camping in remote places and never had anxiety again! I was in some really crazy situations that would scare anyone but I never had a panic attack again so trust me, you can heal completely! I hope you will 😇
