These are wonderful videos! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm. When I lost my job in March of 2020 due to Covid, I found you and started doing Yoga. I now can stand on one foot, do stairs without pain in my knees, clasp a necklace, shovel snow with no back pain. Thank you for changing my life! I really liked the videos during the lockdown with other people. I didn’t feel so isolated. Thank you!

I've been through all these sessions at the Ranch. I have a couple questions. Many times when I tighten muscles I automatically tighten my neck muscles. Should I be working on relaxing those muscles when I'm working on other parts of my body? Also some of the positions are difficult for me. I had my left knee replaced 3 years ago, and that leg is now really doing much better than my right. Should I do this exercise over and over or go through them all and then do them again, so they're not together.
Hi Esther! Congrats for doing all 7 sessions! That is amazing! In regards to you first question about tightening your neck muscles... this is a pattern that you have gotten yourself info and now you are aware of it! That is the first step towards change. Now, notice when you feel your neck tight... and just take a deep breath and let your shoulders drop on the exhale. Do this every time you start to feel that tension in your neck. Elevating your shoulders up toward your ears is a VERY common unconscious behavior pattern. Now that you are aware, you can change that pattern! As for your second question about the uneven-ess in your body. Many of us have a stronger/weaker side based on our anatomy, injuries or usage patterns. Ideally, you would work the weaker side twice and the stronger side once during a specific movement pattern. Because you are following along with me on these videos, that would not be easy to do. Thus, I suggest you can pause the video and do the weaker side twice, then continue the video and do the other side. Or, after the video, you can do a few more rounds of movements on the weaker side. I hope that helps! You are doing GREAT! Keep doing what you are doing and you will surely reap the benefits. Not only in your physical body, but your emotional and mental state as well!
