No there’s factually 9. 3 great movies (OT), 3 horribly laughable movies (PT), and 1 good, 1 ok, and 1 terrible movies (ST).
The prequels are not better than the sequels by any stretch of the imagination. And things like The Mandalorian, Obi Wan, Clone Wars season 7, Jedi:Fallen Order are all the best Star Wars content we’ve gotten in decades.
That's why I'll always say that Episodes 1 through 6 is the complete saga as it has a definitive beginning, middle and end and the "true" Skywalker saga.
The of 6 show the rise and fall of the empire, the sequels are just "oh the empires back idk how oh there they go again"

@@bacon7149 how did it suck and ruined Star Wars as a whole? Yes, Jar Jar was annoying but what about everything else? The chemistry between Anakin and Padmé is believable when you realize that they're both romantically illiterate, having spent most of their time in the service of roles that never allowed them the opportunity to get romantically connected with one another. And now after all these years when they finally get a chance to express themselves and get acquainted with one another, it's difficult for them. Coming from someone who is socially awkward who tries to express himself with the best intentions but comes across as awkward, I found how they had to reconnect believable and as such, their romantic chemistry as well. Also, the visuals might not look the greatest nowadays but back then, they were some of the greatest. They helped revolutionized visual effects that so many current movies would be lost without films like these introducing the tech for newer generations. As a matter of fact, I compared the visuals of Attack of the Clones to Spider-Man (since both movies were released the same year). I found the visuals in Spider-Man have dated worse than Attack of the Clones. Unless there's something else you had in mind that made the prequels worse in your eyes that I've overlooked.

George is 78 now. He created Star Wars when he was 28. We’ve celebrated 50 years of stories from this man. Now the next generation has the adaptation of SW to enjoy.
Yup!!!! Why I own the 4K blu ray of episodes 4-6 and have great memories of the old games when LucasArts existed making games. Shadows of the Empire and such.
Lucas was a visionary and I’ll never not recognize that. He is a good guy and hope he and his family live a peaceful happy life.

@@austinwalker2000 George literally said in the vid that Star Wars is going towards a different path of what he intended meaning it became something that he did not originally set it out to be nor how he wanted it to continue. He “lost control” over it. There’s more interviews out there expressing his thoughts with a slight distaste towards Disney SW. Also, Legends was a continuity he green lit so it didn’t just get passed out and published.

For me there are six main Star Wars films. And then Rogue One, The Clone Wars and Rebels. Nothing more so far. Some comics are great and The Band Batch has been very good, but I'll wait a bit more.

I own the Blu ray collection of 1-6 that says "the complete saga" on the front. I love it. 7,8 and 9 are just goofy fan fiction.
I have the DVD special Edition with all 6 and, even that says the complete Saga, nothing more nothing less. 6 movies and clone wars.
And all the books an games that came out before Disney, every Single one if them is better than anything Disney has done with it. Rouge one take the scene with vader out and even with it you have a movue that created plotholes for episode 4.

There's no going back, unless by some miracle George Lucas regains FULL control over SW; not saying it's impossible, but I'm not going to hold my breath either. George himself even had a plan for sequels so even George didn't think episode 6 was the perfect end. And legends explored content after episode 6 as well. It was never goin to end with episode 6

Example: Harry Potter was written all by one author JKR! The movies may have different directors who help make the books become reality in the form of movies! But the curse child was never written by JKR, only “okayed” by her for the play to be a thing. It’s written by Jack Thorne based on JKR’s work. There for it’s not canon of the original universe.
It’s the same for Star Wars. After George Lucas sold the rights of star wars to Disney, the universe of star wars branches off into a different timeline and/or is straight up a parallel universe in the multiverse that is Star Wars.

@@TechMan042 not sure if you know how that works but several factors affect stock, not just one movie or a series. Every Star Wars movie and series has been a major success for Disney, but I can’t say the same for their other projects such as light year.

#1 Episode 7, #2 Episode 8, #3 Episode 9
@@TKDPWR 1) Some of the best music to grace Star Wars and any other movie. The Clone Army theme is probably one of the best themes in the whole series.
2) The best lightsaber fights in the series, especially the Obi-Wan vs Anakin fight that might have been the most emotional fight in the whole series.
3) Getting to see the backstory of the Dark Lord of the Sith of himself, Darth Vader. Anakins fall from Jedi Knight to Sith Lord is heartbreaking to see. We see why Anakin fell to the dark side and how it was out of love to protect the ones he cared about.
4) Getting to see why the fall of the Jedi occurred. It being due due to their own mistakes and dogma, mistakes that we see they still continue to make in the Original Trilogy in Obi-Wan and Yoda.
5) Without the prequels we would never have gotten the Clone Wars animated series which is one of the best pieces of Star Wars media we’ve gotten. It expands on every basically character from the Prequels and even adds that Anakin had a padawan himself which is a great addition, a padawan that was betrayed by the Jedi Order and further cemented Anakins disdain for it.
I read about it and the reason he sold the rights is not related to prequels criticism. More about he getting old, and wanting to spend time with his daughter.....

@@robinanwaldt While I don't disagree with you, that doesn't change the fact that the EU was signed off on and approved by Lucas, whilst the Disney Star Wars projects are made without Lucas' approval.
To be honest, there are parts of Star Wars that I dislike in both the old EU, and in the new Disney "canon". So these days, I think the best way for fans to enjoy Star Wars is to just choose what is canon in your own version of Star Wars.
I think the Kenobi series did well to fix Leia's "memory" of Padme, and gave us a more appropriate parting between Vader and Obi-Wan to lead into A New Hope. Rogue One also made the biggest flaw of the first Death Star make sense. The Mandalorian series is cool...
...but Boba Fett was lame, the Solo film was god awful, and the Sequel Trilogy is even worse! I also dislike the High Republic, and much prefer the Old Republic stories from the old EU.
So really, I think fans should just stop in-fighting, and enjoy what we like. That's my view.

He's a blue-skinned, red-eyed master strategist and he presents a formidable foe against the developing New Republic. Definitely a cool bad guy with a history. He's not Jedi or Sith, though. However, he knows how to manipulate people, even those who are strong in the force.

Lucas never wanted a sequel trilogy for years, it was always 1-6 for him; his plans for one were only after Disney announced it because he thought he would be the source of the storyline, but those plans got tossed.

You’re not allowed to talk about what’s in those stories if he signed a non disclosure agreement with Disney as part of the deal. He could have quite easily hired a few people to make the sequals in his stead, stayed on as creative director, and still spent time with his daughter. But he doesnt get the right to complain after selling out.
