You can't turn back time even if you went at the speed of light. It's not physically possible. According to the laws of physics you can only go into the future not the past unfortunately. So yeah theoretically if we could even get close to the speed of light let's say Mach 120 which by the way is 92,000 mph around where asteroids travel we could start feeling like we getting younger and the guys on earth start getting older. By the way Mach 120 isn't even close to speed of light, but it's possible to travel at those speeds given enough time and as close to light speed as we will ever get if we get there without burning to crisp would probably be Mach 140 or 107,000 mph. Again we really haven't come up with ways to physically travel light speeds so no it's not possible to go back in the past nor future for maybe never.
@@BrayanCarmona-kr7vt IIRC NASA has actually designed a space craft that could theoretically go faster than light or effectively do similar through a pseudo contraction and expansion of space, and have figured out the individual technologies that we need to work out how to create to be able to do so. I love that word "brutality" to describe stuff like this. You can use aerodynamics and fancy technology all you want, but once you're pushing hypersonic speeds, you need a beast of an engine to power your plane. Seeing an engine like that in action would be nothing short of incredible.

I love the character he plays. “One last ride.” he says with contentment as he lays his life on the line. There’s something beautiful about risking it all on the man you’ve spent your life becoming. Pushing a boundary you don’t know if you’ll survive to stay true to who you are, knowing that if you die, you died as the best version of yourself. The version who’s will does not bend for anyone. Not for man, or beast, or nature, or even God. Let’s all be more like Maverick.
What if they made this the ending of the movie? How sick would that be!? Maverick going Mach 10 in to the heavens, a testament to the irreplaceable human fighter pilots. Calling out to his beloved friend Goose, ensuring him his son is doing just fine.
how can you not get chills seeing such speed and tech. i hope one day humanity will reach the stars and wonder if anyone from our time ever thought we'd make it.
I like how this movie basically gave the big middle finger to China. They wanted the directors to edit some things out for it to be released in China. And they basically said no... So now it's not allowed in China
Almost. They actually did katow to China in post production. One of the 1st trailers had the Taiwanese flag on Mavs jacket removed. After covid hit, and China started to backpedal on letting hwood movies in, they pulled financing from Maverick. At that point, the filmmakers put the flag back in. But they absolutely let China dictate some things early on. A great book just came out on how much power China wields in hwood. Its called Red Carpet. Written by a WSJ reporter.
@@kingofswing3000 I will have to check that out. Either way it's not allowed in China. I think this movie is setting precedents that they do not need to bend over for China anymore. Hollywood is learning that they can still do incredibly well, it made billions of dollars without the Chinese market. This movie shows that. It did incredibly well. And to this day it is absolutely smashing records still. I mean it did well enough that it caused the Chinese version of Top Gun to not be released they were afraid of it being ridiculed from what I heard. And with the way current relations are going with China, what you're saying is not really going to matter anymore, because things have deteriorated so much anyway. So the days of relying on China are coming to an end. Currently the US and Canada are working together to ban some exports to China. And it looks like some of them have just been approved. China collects a huge number of natural resources and semiconductors that it needs from North America.

So when he said “I know what will happen if I don’t”….. that hit some type of way for me. All the best to my MIL, GS, and CIV brothers and sisters…. Wherever you are 🫡 🇺🇸 🇧🇭
It'll take nerves of steel to even fly that thing. The X-15, the current fastest manned aircraft although reaching Mach 6.7 was already stressful enough to fly because the faster you are, the harder it is to control your flight path. One wrong move and you'll be up in flames. However, flight isn't the most dangerous part of the mission, getting back on the ground is.
As a pilot I love Maverick’s communication with ATC (or ‘tower’ or whatever they’d be called here). He tells them he has the current weather (“with information Alpha”) and flight control clears him to taxi to the runway that most favors the weather, then reads to Maverick the wind direction and windspeed (210 is the direction of the wind, 10 is the sustained windspeed in knots). I saw the movie seven times in theatres and seen clips on TH-cam dozens of times, that first time watching it on opening day in late May 2022 was the greatest cinematic experience of my life! Little details like these made it special.
Mav saying "All right sweetheart, one last ride" while the opening notes to Top Gun's main theme plays in combo with the theme when the Darkstar's zoomin in the air made me start to tear up lmao
This scene reminds of when the NX-01 achieved warp 5. The build up to that moment was amazing, the crew was pushing humanities best technologies to its breaking point and beyond.
I've been playing this on a loop sometimes that the intensity and *emotion* of this Darkstar segment brings me to tears--because it's so profound and hits you right in da feels. I sometimes wonder if this kind of scenery is what my late wife is looking down at--since she passed away on January 13th, 2023. I now know that this movie gives us hope for a better future--where the technology we create today, tomorrow and in the decades to come--will usher humanity beyond the skies below and the stars above...
In my opinion, this is the most breathtaking part of the movie! Beautiful shots. Beautiful music. I got chills the first time I watched it. Reminds me of Interstellar. Amazing movie. There is no green screen and the use of CGI is minimal. Many of the stunts may look like CGI, but they are real. That's why this movie is so amazing.
Actually there was green screen when they we're showing Tom Cruise flying in the sky with the Darkstar (Cockpit Shot). The real shots of the darkstar was when Tom Cruise entered the plane and when they were pulling it out of the hangar the rest was CGI for the Darkstar takeoff and flight (F/A-18 Disguised as a Darkstar via CGI during Takeoff) But the Darkstar flight shots were all CGI. Saying "there is no green screen" is misinformation there no offense.
This movie had nearly 2,500 VFX shots. This entire sequence with the dark star is almost fully CG. They created a practical mock-up of for the on-ground scenes, however, all the flying is 100% CG. Most of the flying scenes in this movie were in fact heavily heavily altered by CG. The enemy planes are all CG, the F 14 escape plane is all CG, the actual planes used for shooting were mostly L 39's, and then later digitally replaced. The only flying scene that's assured to be not CG is the P51 Mustang scene with the Lady Gaga song at the end of the film. Hollywood marketing campaigns will have you beleive otherwise, but this movie is hardly a "Minimal CG" movie. I encourage you to watch this video on the subject: th-cam.com/video/7ttG90raCNo/w-d-xo.html

As a fighter pilot myself always going to these types of movies and like military or war movies in general with a precaution because a lot of the times some of the stuff you might see is fake or even half of it but I can tell you from personal experience that throughout the entire day of the scene and even the movie I sat in my seat in the theatre with a childlike grin on my face because it was accurate and captured the feeling of not only how I feels to be in the air but also the freedom you have when you up there as close as you can get to God
I was 42 when the movie came out. I cried a couple times in the movie. It was so emotional for me personally. I watched the first top gun 100 times, and this movie was great, amazing but it was empty in the sense of not having most of the original cast… it got me to me younger years… and people and moments that I will never have again! The movie was amazing! Really amazing !

The is the best part of the entire movie; in fact, this could have been the ENTIRE MOVIE, and would still have perfectly summed up and completed the entire Top Gun arc 😎
Ed Harris was meant for this scene…and although it was a limited amount of screen time, he made a huge impact. Definitely commanded the room. I was so reluctant for them to have a sequel to such an iconic movie, but they did an amazing job and understood the assignment. Adding Hans Zimmer as the composer took this sequel to another level! *slow clap of admiration
Ed Harris definitely commands the room. Look at his role in 1996 action film The Rock (starring Sean Connery too), throughout the movie, u can feel him as a real commanding no-nonsense, caring but tough General.

Again we really haven't come up with ways to physically travel light speeds so no it's not possible to go back in the past nor future for maybe never.
@@BrayanCarmona-kr7vt🤓🤓🤓
@@BrayanCarmona-kr7vt IIRC NASA has actually designed a space craft that could theoretically go faster than light or effectively do similar through a pseudo contraction and expansion of space, and have figured out the individual technologies that we need to work out how to create to be able to do so. Its all super future science stuff, but they've mapped out a tech tree to build through in order to achieve it which is pretty cool. I love that word "brutality" to describe stuff like this. You can use aerodynamics and fancy technology all you want, but once you're pushing hypersonic speeds, you need a beast of an engine to power your plane. Seeing an engine like that in action would be nothing short of incredible.

@user-rf7lf5yn8p they actually designed this plane for the movie 😂
I love the character he plays. “One last ride.” he says with contentment as he lays his life on the line. There’s something beautiful about risking it all on the man you’ve spent your life becoming. Pushing a boundary you don’t know if you’ll survive to stay true to who you are, knowing that if you die, you died as the best version of yourself. The version who’s will does not bend for anyone. Not for man, or beast, or nature, or even God. Let’s all be more like Maverick.
One line makes you look stupid please be cautious never use the name in vain
Sweet words
What if they made this the ending of the movie? How sick would that be!? Maverick going Mach 10 in to the heavens, a testament to the irreplaceable human fighter pilots. Calling out to his beloved friend Goose, ensuring him his son is doing just fine.

@@kingofswing3000 gonna look into that book, thx 👍

God I wonder what it feels like to fly like that… It looks so peaceful
its not
It'll take nerves of steel to even fly that thing.

The intro music gives such a solid 80s vibe, and I absolutely love the nostalgia trip. 💕
You bet and it's fun for some of us who are aviation mavericks.thank you Mr Oetti

The bit where the Sun appears and that music point always gets me.
It seems Humanity's best moments are when we get together to go faster than ever before. Just look at the last time the Land Speed Record was broken.

@@darkstar_sierra1588 None taken, but thanks for providing accurate information. :)
