Story Summary :-
OP (25, F) is an artist who does not adhere to social norms, which has created a contentious relationship with her rude and entitled sister Patty (23, F) and the rest of her traditionalist, conservative family. Her Grandpa (80, M) does not approve of OP’s free-spirited lifestyle, so much so that OP kept her own marriage to her husband Vince (25, M) a secret from him. One day there is a particularly bad argument between OP and Patty, so in retaliation Patty tells Grandpa about OP’s secret marriage to Vince. Grandpa reveals this at a family function and threatens to remove OP from his will. Patty smirks and takes credit for spilling the secret. OP is furious so she reveals to Grandpa that Patty had an illegitimate child she put up for adoption. The family is shocked, and a huge argument breaks out. OP has come to Reddit asking for advice, because her family is upset with her for bringing this up at the function.
In update one, OP sees a fake profile impersonating her on Facebook, spreading rumors about her to make her look bad, as well as badmouthing family members. OP thinks Patty is behind the profile.
In update two, OP’s family is asking her about the things the fake account is saying on Facebook. OP denies everything but her family does not believe her.
In update three, OP creates a profile pretending to be Patty to get even with her. OP contacts the account and realizes whoever is running the profile types suspiciously like Grandpa. Patty continues to deny being the culprit behind the fake account.
In update four, OP attends a family function and comes up with an excuse to go into the computer room. She notices Grandpa is logged in to the fake account impersonating her, proving Grandpa was purposely spreading these rumors about OP. OP confronts Grandpa who admits he made the profile to justify his decision to remove her from the will and to turn the family against OP.

At least you got an apology from someone in the family! I’m the family black sheep. I have never gotten any type of acknowledgement of the wrongs they have done. With the fraud facebook account, especially tied to business, the easy solution there would have been to get a lawyer involved for pressing charges, while it might have some costs, it's doable there and easy enough to get a subpoena put in to find the identity of the one using it.
Fake Facebook account leads to an email address to that person who set it up. The leads to the person computer.

It's disgusting how many people use religion as an excuse for their bad behavior to get people on their side, and yet their behavior tells you they haven't read about the same religion they claim to practice. I wouldn't be surprised if OP's family never stepped foot in a church....
OP's grandpa seemed to constantly keep insulting people, and in the process, was making things worse for himself. I don't get how he can be comfortable not being able to do something a literal child can, or spreading so much hate, which is the very thing Jesus wanted to get rid of!

@@prxfade1410 The only way that she would not be able to do that if she was under age. But at that particular time she was not under age. Even now, they get it sold if even if you will 15 or 16 years old, you can't take in research and see if you are adopted enough.
I don't usually read the comments but did this time to see if anyone else had the same issue or it was something with my device but there's different comments mentioning different timing in the video so I'm not going to note the timing on my comment for that reason and because I didn't pause the video immediately when I started noticing the issues.
First, you are indeed not always reading the subtitles in the same wording as they are written so that's a bit confusing.
Second, the subtitles started out at a similar pace to your reading but at some point (& I honestly don't remember when exactly but I'm currently paused at 14:38 so sometime before that for sure) the subtitles started going MUCH faster than your reading voice...and much faster than I can possibly read them at least while listening!
Third, I'm not sure if it's because of the disconnect between the reading and subtitles but at some point it seems like the animation doesn't QUITE fit where it's supposed to be.
I just wanted to let you know so you can try to get it all to line up although I can't imagine the amount of work you have to put into making that happen! Keep up the hard work!

now im not an american and while its not stated if this story was set in america im just going to assume it is and i dont claim to know american law either but wouldnt she have been able to sue for identity fraud, defamation, damages to business and business income, and probably a huge amount of other things. Me, I believe in following the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ. He only had 2 commandments, 1 - there is only one God, and 2 - LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR. He did NOT state that that neighbour had to be white, with short back and sides, and had to have an office job. He simply said “Love thy neighbour “.
