    If what I believe happened actually happened, Elijah doesn't belong in jail. He belongs 6ft under! That's my personal opinion. I don't take kindly to people (male, female or otherwise) who prey upon underaged children! Those crimes are the highest to reoffend, and I don't believe they should be around to create another victim. I may be an a**hole by saying it, but I don't care.

    William showed his son that there are consequences to his actions, and he would not let him get away with the vile and disgusting things he did to his teenage cousin. I cried when I heard what happened to Amy. I love my children unconditionally with everything that is in me. But, what Elijah did. Nope, as his parents, when I found out what he did, they would have had to hold me back because I would have murder in my eyes. I, too, am a survivor of being assaulted by an older cousin. When I told my family, they all 100% rallied behind me. My cousin's father tried to hide him, but his mom (my mom's sister) showed right up at his house with the police. I have shared my experience with my children as they moved into tweenhood. I let them know that I could forgive them for almost any action they took, but if I ever found out they did to someone what was done to me, they had better run to the far corners of the earth and hope I never got my hands on them. Thank the Goddess above that my kids would never do something so disgustingly heinous.

    A lot of parents think that if you both don't love each other that you should stay with each other to give a false narrative of how loving you both are to each other just so your kid can live a better life when you will inevitably leave later on what would cause the same thing that you're trying to prevent to happen in the future anyway. If you don't love each other then split and co-parent like a normal person 😊. Even though that's what you did later on should have done it when you stopped loving each other

      I honestly think she was covering for Elijah (possibly without him even realizing it, hoping Ava would never divulge her sons horrific actions so as not to ruin her rep) up until her meal ticket of a husband stated that he was siding with OP and Ava. The fact that at the party she immediately got on aggressive defense especially when OP grilled her on why she didn't answer her phone (while her breaking her phone could have actually happened it doesn't seem likely as OP would likely have clarified that she was being sent straight to voice-mail, but OP didn't clarify that meaning that if the phone was actually broken it would have sent all calls straight to voice-mail instead of just not getting picked up. Also how had the sister have let the cousins know she possibly wasn't coming the party if her phone was beoken?) The sister knew or at least suspected as Elijah was way too certain that his dad would get him out of trouble if this had honestly been his first run in with the law. My guess is that Elijah's mom is used to throwing her husband's weight around probably similarly as in this case but others didn't have the evidence OP had.
      So no I honestly don't believe OP's sister didn't know/suspect what her son was up to...especially tge fact that she didn't even mention to OP that Elijah had returned home until OP literally walked in to her home and saw him there.

  • @MCBRUCE76
    @MCBRUCE76 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

    I kind of believe that Ava knew about her son's wrong doing, but kept quiet to protect her son, because the way she tried to protect and refused to listen Amy or OP, tells us a different story. She put on facade of her son being an innocent, until OP played the recorded conversation in front of Elijah. She could do nothing after that.

    • @antoinettejohnson6251
      @antoinettejohnson6251 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not fully defending Ava, but I don’t know that I believe she knew exactly what Elijah had done to Amy. I think she was so defensive because she believed whatever lies he probably told her about Amy being an immature, spoiled brat to discredit Amy in his mom’s eyes in case she did decide to tell someone. No mom wants to believe her child is capable of assault; especially against a minor family member. Besides, when Ava overcame the denial to finally understand her husband and processed the truth of what Elijah had done to Amy, she WAS genuinely sorry. 😢 So maybe everyone involved (except Elijah) has been traumatized by what’s happened and also needs therapy.

For many of us who dealt with SH/SA we had no choice but to try and bury our feelings. It comes out in different ways though. For the daughter it was crying and mood swings. She was visibly upset but because she had been threatened with physical violence she didn’t say anything. As a person who was SA and was subsequently threatened with violence, I understand what the OP’s daughter went through. I’m glad that OP noticed the change in her daughter when she wasn’t even in her home.

    The victims of sexual abuse are never ok. Denial will eventually crumble the psyche and can destroy a person from the inside out.
    My uncle beat my 18 yo cousin to within an inch of his life when he found out that he had raped a classmate. Then he disowned him. He was in fact disowned by everyone in the family, no one wanted him around. He was eventually prosecuted and convicted, getting sentenced to 25 years.

I wonder if Elijah's dad had witnessed prior evil acts on his part--not to Op's daughter but perhaps to friends because that one recording cinched it for him.

    As someone who experienced child SA and ab*se from 3 family members this hurt a lot. I knew all too well after you read that her mood changed after she had been around him, because I was the same way with those 3 who assaulted me for at least 3-4 years. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg of who has SAd and hurt me my entire life. My parent was too late to catch onto why I was depressed and in mental hospitals for multiple s*icide attempts. Those threes mother kicked me out in the dark alone after she found one of her sons SAing me. She called me a whore. I was 8 years old. I hope OP keeps a close eye on her daughter because that stuff will destroy you for the rest of your life. It makes my heart happy to know that piece of crap went to jail, because I never got that. I was too late to tell anyone and they got away with everything. I just knew that they would do something to someone else, and they did. They did the same thing to my sibling when they were 4. Humanity can be such a disgusting thing and I got the worst of it.

      @@cdlc5256 I really appreciate the kind words, so thank you. Life has been a challenge after all of the pain multiple people caused me, but I like to think that it got me to where I am today. I’m married and we have two cats together. The trauma will always be there, but when I look at it now from where I’m at, I can see the younger me smiling to know I made it. Life is never fair, and sometimes it deals more damage to someone more than others, even children. Sometimes people don’t see the strength it takes to live with that pain every day. Sometimes, people don’t make it out and they’re no longer alive. But I do know one thing, and that’s they can never take away your passion, your will to live; although they may have tried. It takes more courage to speak, to crawl through the trenches of that pain and make it to the other side. I only wish I could have saved others.

    Sorry to be "that person" but you really should've kept a closer eye on your daughter, and put 2 and 2 together sooner. Your little girl has lost something she'll never get back and will be traumatized for life. It wasn't hard to guess as soon as you stated the timeline between Amy's behavior and your nephews return. No parent is perfect, but especially with your daughters most recent trauma at her first school you should've been around more and kept her in counseling.. who would've definitely picked up on this sooner. Uncontrollable sobbing, showing up in the middle of the night? How many cries for help did you miss? Period cramps? Now you know what had just happened to her and you just hung up even knowing something was wrong. A mother should always trust her gut. Your nephew is obviously the responsible one. But you dropped the ball as her mother. I hope that you get counseling for this as well. Because I'm sure you'll need it as you KNOW you dropped the ball. I wish the best for your daughter and family.. except that little💩 nephew of yours. Poor girl😢
