I honestly think she was covering for Elijah (possibly without him even realizing it, hoping Ava would never divulge her sons horrific actions so as not to ruin her rep) up until her meal ticket of a husband stated that he was siding with OP and Ava. Also how had the sister have let the cousins know she possibly wasn't coming the party if her phone was beoken?) The sister knew or at least suspected as Elijah was way too certain that his dad would get him out of trouble if this had honestly been his first run in with the law. My guess is that Elijah's mom is used to throwing her husband's weight around probably similarly as in this case but others didn't have the evidence OP had. So no I honestly don't believe OP's sister didn't know/suspect what her son was up to...especially tge fact that she didn't even mention to OP that Elijah had returned home until OP literally walked in to her home and saw him there.
I kind of believe that Ava knew about her son's wrong doing, but kept quiet to protect her son, because the way she tried to protect and refused to listen Amy or OP, tells us a different story. She put on facade of her son being an innocent, until OP played the recorded conversation in front of Elijah. She could do nothing after that.
I’m not fully defending Ava, but I don’t know that I believe she knew exactly what Elijah had done to Amy. Uncontrollable sobbing, showing up in the middle of the night? How many cries for help did you miss? Period cramps? Now you know what had just happened to her and you just hung up even knowing something was wrong. A mother should always trust her gut. Your nephew is obviously the responsible one. But you dropped the ball as her mother. I hope that you get counseling for this as well. Because I'm sure you'll need it as you KNOW you dropped the ball. I wish the best for your daughter and family.. except that little💩 nephew of yours. Poor girl😢
