Clear transmitters always look cool!
2W is impressive
Hey Justin I’ve been wanting to get into FPV and have been looking at some rtf kits would you recommend the Whoopfly16 or the HGLRC petrel 85?
Start with the Whoopfly then move up to the Petrel 85
@@dronecamps ok thank you I appreciate it.
how much range do you think it can push at 2w?
There are variables that can affect your performance like clouds, radio interference, and antenna signal propagations but in an ideal environment you will run out of battery before you even get anywhere near failsafe.
I have this one for my 10 inch and on 1w I could easily fly WAY BVLOS. I would need to get a waiver to fly BVLOS and get some SERIOUS VTX upgrades to even come close to challenging it. I consider it more or less unlimited TX range. It’s overbuilt and that’s what I like about it.
Hey could you pls make a video on how to get longer range w o3 and nano? I feel like I drop off too close. How far should I be able to go!? Also, can I take it down into a valley below me or will it fail safe and plummet?
My best advice is keep a line of sight to your receiver with your radio. Typically long range we fly higher as we go out. I prefer to perch high and fly lower. You could try the Dji vtx hack. That makes it work above 1W.
@@dronecamps copy that. I did load the ham file and never got much more range. Either auto or manual (picking which channel).. all good thanks for the info.
Nice.
Slick. I didn't think flight-distances beyond unaided visual range of an observer were legal for recreational UAS (in the USA). Cool anyway.
Bigger power is for more than just long range. More power equals better penetration and less chance for failsafe of your quad.
@@dronecamps I can see how that would help with a drone. No pun intended. If I'm understanding correctly, penetration relates to getting signal through obstacles to line-of-sight, like trees, etc?
