I just bought a 92 cherokee sport. It's a 2 door 5 speed manual which I've been told is rare and hard to find. I'm so excited to upgrade it and make it how I want it. Your videos have really inspired me. You've got my likes and subscribe 🤘
I’ve been pretty stuck on either buying a bumper or building and I think after watching this I’m just going to get the kit and build it myself. Great vid bud
@@JimGray-od4bb my grandfather in law was a collector of everything Colman. When he passed I hung onto them cause they are easily stored hanging. There were over 100 in the beginning with an equal amount of stoves. I think they are pretty neat and always a conversation piece when someone is in the garage.
In a fabricator and have built a lot of steel and aluminum boats. You never make long continuous welds like that in anything and especially thin sheet metal. You'll warp the hell out of it.
That kid is gonna be one hell of a fabricator one day...."SO how old are you"...."im 18"...."Ha Ha Ha, how many years of experience do you have then"....." Ha Ha Hell I have 18 years of experience"....." Well then, You are Ha Ha Hired"
I ended up getting this kit after this, and a few other videos. One problem I had, is that I was sometimes getting gaps where my seams should have been because of the little tabs holding the parts together. I am planning on getting the rear bumper, but was considering cutting the tabs off and just tacking everything in place instead of doing the bends, and I would like to know your thoughts.
Are you building a stubby?? Wish you would describe the kit and the weight of the materials. No description or mention of what came in the kit and what it cost.
Nice video I had a JCR bumper that was on my old jeep with had been flipped 6 times and took the bumper and the JCR tie-in brackets clean outta the frame, I'mma try and use this kit to rebuild the JCR bumper if even possible. Question tho, are you just using regular flux core welding wire or do you run gas.
Great video, nice work. Can I get the drawings of this work with the sizes so that I can do it for my car xj, as I am from Egypt, I would be grateful if you send me the drawing, thank you very much
Except you need to add in the cost of welding wire electricity primer paint and your hours of doing it equals out to just buying a bumper but a nice little welding project
So all in all I’d say I’m about $250 into it not including time. Can’t factor in time because I have more time than money and even cheap bumpers go for $400 or more for the xjs
What kit did u git?? No views of parts or anything. Just said ya git a kit and started bending. We can't know what you have to work with?? You're supposed to be sharing info. What you have and what came in the kit... .source price no show and tell.that'd why it's called a video. See ya. Gonna go watch bleepin.
Great work, looks really nice. I managed to rework the factory bumper and now I have a hidden winch. 🙂
That’s cool. I always liked those.
@ProjectVenture A lot of work, but I wanted a hidden winch and I like how it turned out. 🙂 I also have a video if you want to check it out.
Cheers!
Great video man. I like that you included info about the vacuum canister at the end. Keep up the good work with your channel

Thanks
That was awesome.
Time to learn how to Weld.
👍
Great video, thank you! I plan to adapt this bumper to my Geo Tracker
Those things are awesome
Haha nice Coleman collection I have about 40 of those old lanterns!
Awesome video I think I’m gonna go and buy that kit.
Thanks. I was never really into them until I inherited a large collection. I had a bunch of stoves for a while too but they take up a lot of space.
Looking good on the bumper. Whats up with all of the lantern's? Love Coleman lanterns. I have 3.

The trick is to weld a little bit at a time and jump around. Otherwise as you said, It will turn into a potato chip.

In theory it shouldn’t be an issue. My only concern would be if it offsets where it mounts but it should be close enough it shouldn’t matter.
What bolts did you use for the passenger side diameter wise you said 4 inch did you use 1/2 inch
I believe they were half inch.
Wish they had a receiver version besides the winch one too. Nice build though
Did you have any problem with the protection pieces for the wings
I’m not sure what you are referring to.
Will a badland 12,000lb winch fit these?
That is the exact winch I put in mine. I had to shave about 1/8th inch on the top towards the front though.

What is the distance from front of grill to front of bumper? Curious and not sure If this is the right kit for me.
I will check for you when I get home today.
@@ProjectVenture thank you. Would greatly appreciate it.
The face of the bumper sticks out roughly 8 inches from the base of the grill. This is not including the shackles and winch fairlead.
Good video, keep up the good work. You can never start kids to young 😆 lol
He loves it. Now that he is walking every time I go out in the garage he heads straight for the door.
