- Spent a few days wandering through Bangkok's Chinatown with the Sony A7IV and the 35mm f/1.4 GM, one of my favorite combos for street photography. Bangkok will forever be one of my favorite places in the world for street photography, and I captured a ton of photos while I was there.

Thank you!
Great video...thank you for the upload!
5:16 is the killer shot....Nice work @Sean Dalton! Nic, Australia
Great photos! I love photographing in Bangkok but have not been back since 2011 but will go next year.
I am living in Thailand and 3-4 times a year aI am visiting Bangkok for photographing "street". Talad Noi is a must, but I like also Sukhumvit, Siam and MOCA, Museum of contemporary Art. During the day I am using A7RIII with the Tamron 20-40/2.8 and the A7IV with the Tamron70-180/2.8, in the night I change to A7IV with the Sigma 85/1.4 DG DN ART.
Lovely pictures. I'm watching this before my flight to Bangkok today, I'm going with only film camera, so super excited
That’s so rad. Such an epic city to shoot film in! Lots of amazing labs too, can get cheap dev and scan. Have fun!
Hey Sean. Great to see you out and about again. I just recently did a video on street photography. One of which is with my Canon 35mm f2. It's my go to street photography for the same reason as yours. Great shots by the way. I'll have to visit that place one of these days.
Thanks Jason, 35mm is just a lovely focal length hey? Will always be my favorite
Sean, this one is so good! Made me want to go shooting in BKK!
Much love Bank! Thanks man
Everything about this video is dope. Keep it up! :)
Appreciate the kind words, looking forward to making more of these soon. Prob a bit of a slower vibe but more or less the same
Great video Sean!
Much love Benny thank you man!
I Love this Style of Video
Really appreciate that, thank you!
Really nice Video and great pictures. Love them. Also got the Sony A7IV with the Sigma 35 F/1.4
Thinking of getting a Sigma 50 F/1.4 aswell.
Thanks man! I really want the 50 too
Thanks a lot. I had some amazing days with my camera in China Town.
Such a beautiful place hey, never gets old.
Fantastic photos and video 👏🏻
Thank you!
Dope shots brother! I wanna get out there and do some portraits
Thank you brother! Bkk is amazing for portraits
Great video, this has been my go to lens to shoot BKK street photos.
Thanks man, amazing lens hey? I want the 50
@@seandalt very much so! 35mm is just such a sweet spot. I've not even tried the 50mm 1.2, I have the 24 and 35mm 1.4 love them both.
Amazing shots! I’m running the A7IV and the 35 1.4 gm as well
Cheers man! Such a great combo hey? Thinking of picking up the 50 1.4 as well
@@seandalt Don't overlook the 55 1.8 as an amazingly, small lens that produces exceptional images.
I have a a7IV and the Trio, the 24 mm 1.4gm, 35mm 1.4gm and 50mm 1.4gm, all three are Great Lenses. I was this year in February in Thailand, nice Land, maybe another time next year.
Amazing results. Especially on the train. The women through the window!!
So good!
Thank you Tiffany!
This is dope. Fair play on shooting video along side the stills!
Thanks man, not easy! Haha. Needed more footage. Picked up the new DJI Osmo action to help out with that for the next one.
35MM 1.4 GM❤
The best 🔥
Inspirational!
Thank you!
thank you for great video
Just curious what camera and lenses you are using for the video portions. It appears a chest mounted gopro for some of it but what kind for the other B-Roll footage? and were you using gimbal or handheld, any kind of tri or mono pod?
Great photos 👌
Welcome to Thailand!!!
Thank you!
Love your colour grading 🔥 do you have this preset for sale?
thank you for sharing
Absolutely man thanks for being here
@seandalt what f stop are you using on your photos typically?
I hope you had a great time in Bangkok :) Your photos are so incredible. You really reveal the new perspectives of the city I have lived in for almost 40 years...awesome! The only suggestion I have is to include details like f-stop, shutter speed and ISO for each photo so beginners like myself could learn from you even more.
By the way, taking pictures of strangers without their consent could be illegal in Thailand especially when their faces are clearly visible in the picture and when the picture is used for commercial purposes (obviously OK for personal uses). However, I believe you can get away with this as a foreigner lol. I am a beginner in photography and I am really into street photography but culture and laws here in Thailand make it a lot more challenging. This is perhaps why I prefer apsc with a Sigma 18-50mm f2.8. The set up is a lot less noticeable.
Thank you! I absolutely love shooting in Bangkok. Will def think about putting camera settings in the videos but I don’t think it’s all that important to be honest. Composition is king most of the time
Nice video ! You managed to bring back to my mind the atmosphere of the city I remember from several trips in Thailand. I love this country and those people. Good work.
Awesome photos. I am based in Bangkok and love this area called Talad Noi.
I wonder if you visited Photo Hostel finally? I am running my Street Photo Exhibition there since 10 June, and on 29 July I am doing a closing party.
Yes Talad Noi! So nice. I did visit it briefly, it’s very cool. Unfortunately I’m not in Bangkok now so I can’t make it to your photo exhibition
I like you’re shooting style. Even in video. You don’t over do it with the edits.
Thank you man, I appreciate that!
welcome to Thailand
Greate video man! :D
Thank you my man!
Welcome to Bangkok Thailand
I thought the shot at 4:24 is really great
Did you bring your trinity zoom lenses but decided to go 35mm 1.4? Figured in such a travel scenario the 24-70 would come in handier
Thank you! I had my 24-70 but I really enjoy shooting street with a prime lens. Simplifies the shooting experience and forces me to move more. I also love 35mm, all time favorite focal length
Thanks for this great Video Sean - Love it😍
I travel next week to Bangkok and shoot some Street in Chinatown too.
Thanks Alexander! Enjoy your trip man, it’s such an epic spot for street photographyb
Beautiful photos :) Hope you enjoyed BKK
Thank you! I absolutely love bkk :)
Hi, could you please share any presets you used to edit the photos or videos? Thanks!
Do you use any lens filter to avoid the sky being over-exposed? I always having issue when trying to shoot the street photo but sky is over exposed =(. Adjusting the setting to minimise the sky over-exposed but my street turns out to be under exposed =(
Try not to shoot in the middle of the day.. around sunrise or sunset is leass harsh lighting. You can also adjust shadows and highlights in editing. Make sure not to over expose the highlights.
ถ่ายรูปสวยจังเลยครับ
มาเที่ยวเมืองไทยอีกนะครับ❤🎉😊
7:44 This is char siu bao,a cantonese food.😋
Yesss, my favorite 🤤 I always get them in Thailand Chinatowns, but don’t like the non-Chinese Thai version very much. Ate them everyday in China haha
Beautiful all ❤ photos.
i can tell you're a cat person just by the amount of cats pics in this short video , am actually a victim myself which is how it takes one to know one hahaha i just take tons of street cats whenever i encounter them and they just bring lots of joy to the whole outing 😍😍
Can u share recipe for the preset for the images in this video? It AWESOME! I don't know if Is it Kodachrome 64, real ace or else... Please share the recipe!
These are all shot on Sony so I edited them with my presets :)
Very nice
Much love Jesus
Would love it if you put your photo/camera settings (ss/iso/fstop) on the photos you show on here. Really helps us new photographers 👍🏼🤝
I've done that on my most recent vid which I will be posting sometime over the next few days!
好棒
Which camera and lens used for video part ?
Sony a7iv and 35mm 1.4 GM
Oh sorry for video, Sony A7IV with the 24-70 2.8 Sigma
Most of the area you are showing in the beginning of the video is acutely south of Chinatown. Soi Wanit 2 Samphanthawong is the area in case people want to explore that area.
Is this not considered Chinatown? Samphanthawong/Talad Noi area was one of the original Chinese settlements and there's a ton of Chinese architecture
1 setting 1 lens?
come back dude!
Back soon man!
Editing tutorial for this photos..... please
You shoot jpegs?
Only with the Fuji. These are all RAW
I'm watching the video in Bangladesh. And I Wana learn photography. But I don't have camera just have a phone. How can I start photography?
Taking photos
i stay in bangkok nice to meet you now where are you
Chiang Mai!
i walked around here few months ago and can tell that some of the families are annoyed with the constant cameras shooting their private homes.
Yes absolutely, I didn’t shoot in many houses for that reason. But that’s the case anywhere, not just here
Could you try some JPEGs with the different creative looks of the Sony A7IV. Would love to hear your opinion on those. Especially the FL and IN look.
Hey Kevin, I don’t foresee myself shooting jpegs with the Sony, but certainly with the Fuji as it has much more capabilities in that regard
Do you ever get yelled at for taking photos of people? That’s my worst nightmare lol
长的像面善的阳光大男孩
As usual the ever-annoying music which is not even volume-levelled with the voice! FFS!
Love that you care enough to leave a comment. Thank you 😘
@@seandalt Not really. Shocking stuff how you expect viewers to have to turn their volumes up and down constantly throughout the video to make it watchable.
And you call yourself a photographer/videographer! Fvcking clown!
Jesus Christ man, you seriously need to chill. It’s a TH-cam video. Mistakes happen. Move on with your day. Wish you all the best, you clearly have something you’re working through. Good luck brother
@@seandalt I liked the music, worked perfectly. Wish I could create a video and story tell like you have.
Not a nice city. No nature. Everything only commerce
Everything is subjective hey. I didn’t like Bangkok first time I visited, now I love it. So much culture. There are some nice parks as well
Typical US speech and approach...
Hey, yes I am from the US! But I haven't lived there in over 8 years.
left @ 4:30. you gotta get rid of that thumping beat man. it's annoying with your looking at pictures relaxing photos. doesn't go to together.
Cheers man appreciate the feedback
