Honestly I don't know how anybody can dislike these videos. Even most full retail-released games don't have TH-cam channels dedicated to explaining them and giving out news for them. Not to mention that the production values of this channel are so good and how humble and non-sellout Nick remains despite his channel's huge popularity.

Really COOL! People keep talking about how the popularity of Pokemon GO is falling off (it always does for games after a big initial buzz), but if Niantic strategically phases in trades, PvP, new generation Pokemon, and special events where you can catch legendary Pokemon (I would love to vlog about those!!) then I think they can keep the interest high for a long time.

I love the buddy system concept, not just as a way to get rare candies, but as a bonding experience with your pokemon. They only had it in generation 2 in the main games and since then fans babe been being to bring it back. People love spending time with their favorites. Think about how many people have to abandon their favorites because the cost of powering up is too high?

I had the weirdest thing happening today, which caused me to train up a rival gym: I saw someone come up to the gym that I just took over and starting to battle my pokemon. I quickly went to train the gym, but while I was still fighting, he already made it his gym and then after I beat my pokemon it just went into the next battle (against his pokemon). I lost that battle and then the rival gym got prestige points because I defeat my own pokemon.

No way, he had no time to do that and left as soon as he placed a pokemon there. It showed me the result screen where it increased the prestige points and gave me xp for it.

Agreed. I like IVs but EVs is just too much. I'm not that big a nerd. Plus the casual player already struggles understanding IVs, let alone EVs.
Don't get me wrong. I can see and understand the side of wanting EVs in the game, some part of me wants it there to for elitist reason and further customization. I just don't want the game to be a tad bit more complicated is all, but that's just me.

Walking pokemons can work as a training function as well that can increase IV in addition to awarding candy to level up CP. If Niantic can hammer all the GPS spoofing then this function will motivate trainers to walk more effectively.

I don't think EV's in this game would be a good idea. There's just too few stats to play with. I'd prefer they implemented the speed stat in any way, first (maybe just modifying the attack and dodge animation speed, idk). Then, if they implemented EVs we'd have the possibility to make a fast glasscannon or a slow, durable tank.
Moving to Special and Physical attack systems may be too much to ask. However, the Special and Physical system as we know it, and as I love it, was introduced in Gen IV. In Gen II and Gen III we had a type-based Special and Physical system (which may be interesting to work with in this game, but may not be viable in the long run for double types like Blaziken or Charizard).
What I'm trying to say is, we may see a stat overhaul when a later gen comes out, and that would add some depth to the combat system that makes the main games so awesome and flexible.
Also, as how the stats are made right now in GO, we'd have two options for EV training: putting EV on attack, or putting EV on whichever between Defense and Health is proven by math to be more effective. The other one would just be useless.
And for the love of god, we should be able to choose which moves our pokemon know. It's kinda dumb having a useless pokemon because it has a horrible charge move and a non-stab quick move. Maybe just use stardust to re-roll the moveset. Idk.
Having moveset flexibility could be useful for introducing some kind of assistance moves. Double team, Swords Dance, Amnesia, Barrier. Even Toxic and other status effects. Hell even recover and soft boil. You could play chanseys that are so tanky that the battle timer runs out before you can faint them, without relying on damage (and attack IVs, for that matter). The possibilities are endless.

Wait. I've just thought about it and that Chansey would be stupidly broken. Nvm. No heal moves. Ever.
What about Chansey being able to heal pokemon after battles? Except for Vaporeon, it always feels like I'm wasting hyper potions as none of my fighters even have close to 200 HP. Except for the 100 CP Chansey I caught way back at lvl 15.
As for EVs, I think it just adds another unnecessary complication to the game. Look, I know most people playing GO seriously were already pokemon fans, but it's a mobile game. I don't mean to insult mobile games, but it's not chess; it shouldn't be complex.
+wherethetatosat it should be what people want... Just because it's a mobile game doesn't mean it should be simple or plain... I don't to play a simple boring game, or a shooter or a button masher, I enjoy complexity in games and I only play this to have something my whole family enjoys...

What I thought about the code 'first throw' was that it's the reference to the main games that from time to time, you can catch a pokémon with one shake. Getting the pokémon on a 'first throw'.

This is really weird but, I have caught all my rare Pokemon with great balls or pokeballs. I caught a 1500 Ninetales with a pokeballs and a 1800 snorlax with a great ball

The incense will work like the regular one, save they'll give a 'buffed' percent to a specific type. Like, grass Pokemon have and increased chance to spawn by 10%
id love if the "buddy system" would also grant stardust. or atleast there need to be another way to gain stardust, maybe for training at a gym? also the reward for catching/transferring evolved pokemon is the same as an unevolved one. sometimes youl see a low cp pidgeod and it feels like id rather want it to be a pidgey just because it will cost way less pokeballs.

You can activate a pokestop without the pokestop being within your refresh circle (the white one that circles out from your avatar). If you're close enough to the pokestop, so that the refresh circle is within the space the lure circle would take, then you can activate it. Although, sometimes when there aren't lures, you have to be closer to the pokestop.

One thing I have noticed about hives and cluster spawns is that you may get a lower amount and get the evolution instead. There is a Bulbasaur nest that I pass on my way to work every day. I can usually count on 2 to 4 Bulbasaur showing up each time I go. Every now and then they will spawn 1 to 2 Ivysaur if I am lucky and a couple of times I have come across a Venusaur instead of the cluster spawn that I usually see. I don't know for sure if this is the case in all nests or just the one that I frequent. Might be worth looking in to.

has pokemon go fucked up their Km counting for eggs again? i was riding my bike, not even at a high speed, just casualy and my gps was acting normal and from the 16Km i rode it only registered 1,5km... and then the day after when i was just walking it also didn't update the Km at all. Also feel like they did something with curve balls again, suddenly cant properly curve ball on pokemon. which i easily could before a few days ago. btw nice video as always

First throw might also refer to an extremely rare occurrence in the pkmn games where if you throw a poke ball the Pokemon will be caught without the ball shaking at all

With regards to having throw harder to hit Pokemon - If you have a phone with a larger screen,, enable your phone's One-Handed Control mode
it looks like nests don't influence what pokemon hatches. But habitat does, possibly the keyword function that indicates what pokemon will spawn in an area since habitats will not change - or not that we know of so far.

When you hatched you're eggs, you hatched a lot of water and psychic types. Those are slowpoke's types. The location you hatch them might effect the TYPE of Pokemon if near a nest.
I agree with you that they have changed something to curve balls distance now. I was able to hit every Pokemon except for Ponyta's a couple days ago, but recently I've noticed that my curve balls need me to basically use the whole screen to hit almost everything now. Another change to curve throws?
I've noticed a change in throwing curve balls. Much more difficult to get it to go the distance you want
ev's depend on the nature of that specific Pokemon as well.example a jolly dragonite will have ev's for attack which made it a massive attack sweeper.they need a way to put in natures so we know exactly what stat to focus on
What if the buddy system is for the happiness pokemon. Like Umbreon, Espeon, and Togetic? Maybe that will factor in somehow? Just a guess though.

I have noticed that the SIZE of the Pokemon seems to influence how hard you have to throw. Caterpie, Weedle, Pidgie = "short" throw. Clefairy, Rattata, Nidoran = medium throw. Rhyhorn, Slowpoke, Onyx = "long" throw. Flyers appear to be the exception - anything in the air is a medium-to-long throw.
Being able to walk and gain candy would be amazing. For those of us in rural areas, this means its possible to keep playing, and means that casual players aren't going to get completely pushed out by more hardcore players.
Being able to walk with your Pokémon to earn candies would be WONDERFUL. I really need more Gastly candy to get my Gengar
Floral could attract fairy types; Cool could be flying (a cool breeze) and Spicy could be dragons (they'll have to add at least gen 2 and/or 3 for it to not be OP)
Yes, it feels like they messed with ball throws again. Had to re-adjust my curve ball to how it was when it was "broken".
In the main series games, certain Pokemon like different flavours of berries e.g. Spicy, cool, sweet. Its likely that the different incense's will attract Pokemon based on those groups, similarly to how Pokémon's base stats are based on their base stats in the main series games :)
Another tip for the in depth players, I have really been spending more time on concentrating on collecting high IV/moves lower CP pokemon for battling the gyms for my same team. If you really want to get good at building up your teams gyms quickly then you really need to have the right set up for it. You need to have half the CP of who you are attacking to get the full 1000 gym prestige. IMO the best way to do it is to have two accounts of the same team. The first account takes the gym and slaps a Magikarp in there so its splash attack does no damage. Then the other account keeps attacking it with a pokemon that is half the CP of the Magikarp to continually build up the gym at a 1000 prestige rate. The magikarp is a water pokemon so you want to use an electric type to attack it. Once you get the gym level to where you want it put one of your big guys in there to defend it. and hope for the best. Usually others on your team passing by will see the open spots in the high level gym and easily throw in good defenders. The more Defenders a gym has the more of a chance that other teams wont attack it because they know they will have to use lots of potions/revives.
I feel like the names of the incense refer to the color of them. Spicy would be red, Cool would be blue, and Floral would probably be purple. They most likely would be for multiple types.
yea i find throwing balls for some pokemon way harder. i have to do some crazy finger flicking to catch a kangaskhan and during most occasions i have to turn on AR and tilt above it for extra distance :)
Ive actually been talking about a leash or training your Pokemon by walking. It fits the purpose of the game in exploring and making you work out as well as making finding and catching rare pokemon more worth it, avoiding the disappointment of having a low level rare you talk about in the video

what im thinking niantic could do is actually let you battle wild pokemon and if you kill it you get 5 candies for it, and if you catch it like normal, you get the normal 3, +1 if you transfer it.

Let's say that the floral incense attracted grass types. The entire road I live on is a bulbasaur nest, where I'm also starting to see Ivysaur on the sightings list.
itd be cool if they did something similar to the soot sack from the 3rd gen pokemon games. as you walked around a certain route by the volcano you could collect soot and have that made into different flutes. id love it if there was a similar system that could be used to collect star dust
