I just bought one a few days ago. Should be arriving today. I loved my steam deck but I wanted a bit more than a mobile gaming setup. I was wanting a mobile gaming setup that can also be used as a good desktop. Something that I'm not equipped enough to use a linux device as a desktop.

Ok. The legion go is actually really good. Windows os means you get to play any games that you have ever owned or "downloaded". Detachable controllers and that huge screen with the stand means you can use it as a tablet to watch your series or movies when you don't feel like gaming. The display is amazing. A little bit on the heavier side yes, but you get used to it in a couple of days. I almost got the ally but glad I chose the legion go. 👍
I was between buying this and a gaming laptop, but because of the hot sale (here in Mexico) I prefered to buy the 1 TB Legion Go and a MacBook Air (since I have been an OSX user for more than 14 years) I hope I have made a good choice. I bought it practically as an “extension” to my Xbox Series X. Do you think I made a good choice? Should I request a refund for both devices and only purchase the gaming laptop? I have to say that my main games are: Diablo IV, Diablo II Resurrected, Warzone, Fortnite, Age of Empires, Injustice, most of them are available on Xbox Game Pass. I appreciate your response please. Meh its not that bad tbh. It just fires up instead of at you. No one talks about how loud it gets. The legion gets sooooo loud
@EddiePReacts yeah have to second this. I thought it wasn't gonna be that bad, but it literally sounds like a jet engine even at idle with lower power settings.

I have a question, i want to use either steam deck or rog ally or the legion go as a dock only system to play local multiplayer party steam games with 4 or more players (like a switch). Which would be the best device to do this? Help me decide. I’d be pairing 4 ps5 controllers and dock to a 4k tv.
hmm good question - since you wont be using it handheld, and only doing steam multiplayer games, i think youd be better off saving the money and buying an LCD Steam Deck - maybe even used or refurbished!

Its a pc that can be a portable gaming machine, but how many portable gaming machine can be as good of a pc as legion go?
Not enough 3rd party support for the Legion Go and I feel like Lenovo will stop or slow the support once the newer versions are released. With the SD, at least you know Valve wont be trying to replace the deck with a newer version for at least 18 months
I have the Legion Go and sadly the weight and ergonomics are really bad for me.
Trying to decided if I go ROG ally or Legion Go.. I had the ally when it launched and returned it due to the bugs that had ( i know they worked those out ). I prefer most my games as close to 60fps as possible. I was told if you play at 800p on the legion it looks pretty fuzzy cause of the 1600p screen is that true ?

I love legion go. 2k screen is great when I am gaming on my virtual gaming machine. Also 2k is great on media.
2k screen is amazing to and is a defining reason for me.
Detach controller was a huge bonus for me as well. I like being able to make lighter and use an Xbox controller. I like that I can use it for work and strip the game look of it.

Just got a steam deck oled and loving it except for fact that so many games are not compatible or need a lot of tinkeri g to get to work (thought games were supposed to 'just work.'). I'm prob going to swap for Legion Go which can run everything easy

Great video! One thing is incorrect though, you can use the controllers separately, you just need to pair them as bluetooth controllers individually to the LeGo.
Technically, but look at the controllers… one of them doesn’t have buttons on it lol so it’s not the same experience as the switch
It seems good as an at home console since you could install mods and a lot of extra stuff regular consoles can’t do
I have one, I am new to PCs so it has taken a little time to get used to it but 2 months in I love it. Only complaint is the storage, although I have a sd card I have to install on the go and copy across. Xbox pass games wont run off sd card

Battery life is holding me back from getting another handheld pc had the steamdeck it was great but battery life was bad after every playtime had to charge it and linux isnt great for gaming unless you only want to play rpgs and other single player games haha love lenovo tabs and laptops really want to give this a try but until the battery life and compatibility as far as not needing to adjust crap to play im holding off on another handheld pc
What’s you best recommended settings for screen resolution and in game resolution with possibly amd settings?
It really depends on the game and requirements. Indie titles can go really high while cyberpunk should probably stick to 720p, you know?

I use 144hz all the time what are People talking about and use only 13w custom mode
I wish Lenovo marketed egpu support for the Legion Go. I love using my Legion Go with my Razer Core X + RTX 3080 egpu. 4k 60fps max settings for every game I throw at it when docked to my TV. Then 1600p for when I'm away from the TV. It's an insanely underrated setup.

I liked my steam deck too. This Legion Go does look impressive but the weight could cause trouble. My left hand gets numb after playing games for a while and I like to play while lying in bed.

They laid of thousands of really great people after posting record profits and bragging about moving up the Forbes list each quarter in their "All Hands" NA org sales meetings to those people that moved the needle for them. They ruined thousands of people's lives, especially those that relocated and even bought new homes during the peak of covid when Lenovo asked for their dedication to support and grow the business. Their warranty process is atrocious and considered terrible by anyone who has had to deal with service claims on top of this.

I think you should also mention about modern games.
Like skyrim and fallout, it is so difficult again. Any of The Mods to work correctly on fallout 4 and this is the reason why I switched over. I do love the steam deck. And I got one for each 1 for my kids.

@@JasonWitmerYT - i got mine, for a fraction of a gaming spec laptop price ... im not a fan of AMD honestly, but this is not too bad! a bit on heavy weight but manageable. this solves also my office desk cluttering issue, more play before sleep and just not at 4K. My game titles are not so demanding in 3D i guess...aka "Diablo Immortal". 😊

Yes if the games support an Xbox controller, but I recommend buying a game rather than cracking it, especially indie games

I considered the legion Go vs the OLED SD. I eventually went with the SD OLED for the better battery life and seamless software experience. As I watch these reviews Im actually seeing the LGO's use case closer to a gaming laptop masquerading as a handheld. Take off the controllers, prop the kickstand, connect a small Bluetooth keyboard & mouse and it basically becomes an ultraportable laptop/tablet which is something the steam deck cant do.
The legion go can be used like a switch with each joycon being its separate controller and can be used for 2 player local multiplayer

Yup it can be used for games that support joystick configurations like switch emulated games such as Mario Kart, Tennis, Super Smash etc.
I found using BetterJoy alongside it works well or even just connecting them separately via bluetooth does the trick.

BTW, one big oversight is that the Legion Go uses the Z1 Extreme version, not the regular Z1 like the standard original Ally, and the Lego has access to faster memory and faster ram.
Not true.. The Ally launched with the z1 extreme. The z1 version launched months later. Legion does have faster memory though.

I bought the ROG ally on day one. And it was the z1 extreme version. The z1 version came out in October. A quick Google search will show what came out first.

The build quality and display of Legion Go are way superior than the Rog Ally. Speakers really suck though.

STEAM DECK GANG !! The deck is just so much more convenient for lazy people like me that just want to plug & play and not deal with long setup times for every game to get settings right. Oh and not having constant updates to windows is a huge deal for me too. Windows, not a fan.
Are u high? It's not plug & play with the steamdeck. The compatibility issues plagued with Linux /Steam Os is a joke. If you windows already than it's easy. Not too mention the terrible performance the steamdeck has . Sure old games and candy crush run fine on the SD ,but not even wants too play games on dogshit settings with mins 20-24 fps.

I apparently heard that the reaosn why most Ally's were being returned is because they bought it expecting a handheld game console like the Switch but instead got a PC and that's why. Had nothing to do with the hardware issues, which the average person purchasing wouldn't know anything about. Also I like conventional handhelds personally and I don't really need a ton of weird and wacky handhelds. The Ally succeeds at this very well and is an amazing device for that very reason. Legion Go is also great too. I just need to decide on which I should get after months of looking at both.
