Thank you for positing this video! It made the task much easier for a slightly lesser mechanically inclined person like myself. How you were able to do it one handed while holding a phone is simply amazing.
@BrianB-n8g It's often a challenge to hold the camera and video the process. If I could, I'd produce better videos. I'm glad it helped someone. Thanks for watching!
2009 pontiac g6 3.5 I just had my gear shift cable busted in housing today, not as bad to replace as i thought it would be before even seeing this video ! great video though all the same i'm glad someone posted this how to video on this particular car issue
To be honest, this was really nice of you to do 🎉 My mother car needs the exact work performed. I would say with two people it will be a lot easier to feed cable through, your a one man Job I see lol thanks a lot, everything was detailed down to the last screw!!! You’re the man!
Hey man this is a killer video. Thanks for the good content. More people should be liking this video because it’s the best one out there. Thanks again.
Question I have 2009 Pontiac g6 got the old one out the new seems much shorter like 6” shorter I’ve pulled the new to stretch but still seems way to short parts both claim it’s the only one for that vechile it’s a Dorman part number 905-642 am i missing step of installing the new one cuz I’ve adjusted everything that i could think possible still to short thanks and great video I used this
It’s possible, I’m getting ready to do the same repair myself. First symptom I had was the keys getting stuck in ignition & locks not releasing when I went into park. Basically acted like a bad neutral safety switch at first. If you can, shift in & out of park until your door locks automatically release and the keys should come out too. If it’s not the shift cable then it’s probably neutral safety switch, the way I was able to determine the difference was that I have intermittent Park functionality
