The Good Old Kiwi Can-Do Attitude

  • Here I go talking about the good old Kiwi can-do attitude. Like how to have a "Land Rover" type farm truck, when a Land Rover just isn't affordable. And how to give a second life to an old farm ute.
Plus, I have a question for any farmers out there who are not in New Zealand. A question about the modern laws surrounding fertilising fields and having cows in your fields, when the fields are adjacent to an open water source, such as a river or a stream.

Thank you very much. I got so sick of waiting for someone to mod one, that I ďid it myself. It's not perfect, as the centre isn't sunken down, but I'm happy with it all the same.

Thank you very much, Johnny. I'm in Lower Hutt, near Wellington myself. Small world though, there's quite a few of us Kiwi's who enjoy FS.

Awesome video, Russell! I just had to check on "my property" to ensure it was being well attended to. 😂
I'm not a farmer or an applicator of fertilizer/pesticides, but I'm pretty sure that putting these things on the ground near an open waterway is a serious matter here in the States like it is for you. As near as I can tell, it depends on what kind of chemical it is, or what's on the label, with some things being more toxic than others. That might dictate what kind of buffer zone is required between where the chemical is applied and the waterway. But that's as far as my knowledge goes, so hopefully someone else will chime in that knows more, or to correct me if I'm wrong. 🙂

Thanks AK. If you ever want to play the map yourself with those houses there, plus the other changes I made, I'm happy to share it with you. That goes for all my viewers, too!
Interesting to read about the waterways rules. Good thing it's still the 80's on my map. Sometimes ignorance is bliss!

I know that my wife’s family farm in Florida, United States, sprays fertilizer of some sort and it’s near a marsh and small creek but I’ve never heard of any consideration like that. Theirs seems to be more of a complicated mix and catered to the chemical imbalances of the land, if you will.

@@walasy Yes, the map is called BallySpring, and is on modhub, but I have made extensive changes to it.
