Whangamomona

A very quick video just to tell you about Whangamomona, a small township near Stratford, on The Forgotten Highway, and how they keep (repeatedly) becoming a Republic - if only for a day! A story so crazy, that f you didn't understand the Kiwi sense of humour, you wouldn't believe is true. But it is!

I love Whangamomona and have ridden my bike through it a couple of times. Calling it a small town is a stretch ... the 1 horse left in the 70's 🤣. I hadn't heard about the cruise shop hub, love it! So many great stories from Whangamomona and the hotel is very cool. Definitely worth stopping for a meal and overnight stay.

That was funny! As they say, truth is stranger than fiction! 😂 I found the entry on Wikipedia, and it had more amusing details.
