'Old friends, oh mothers, dogs & brothers, there's only so much letting go you can ask someone to do' this line has me welling up every time.
When I first heard this I was in tears before I even realized I was listening so closely. Those lines and " Laying in a hospital bed eyes narrow blue and red.." reminded me of losing my Brother to a heart attack in '04 and my Mom to dementia recently. This is why they're my favorite band now. Best band I've found since Ian and James Felice released their eponymous album.

I think what I find particularly appealing about this song is the way that it not only breaks your heart but it doesn't revel in being broken and takes "walking you in my stride" to rebuild and press on with a fragile truce with mortality and a new understanding of the value of life.

I know a lot of people are bothered by the guitarist's herky-jerky movements. But, what I see is his response to the music. He feels it all.

I see an affectation. Like he's channeling an old rockabilly folk guitarist from the early 50's or something.

@@OnEvenKeel It did really jar with me when I watched their Tiny Desk set on here. However, I feel bad sniping at it online. Too much negativity in the world. He can do whatever he wants. I may have been a little irritable when I watched it.

This kid has the most beautiful voice i've heard in a long time. She's brilliant.

@@bartlettandbosc It’s all about perspective. If she’s not YOUR kid, it can be taken as disrespect. You’re old enough to know that too. Only person that gets to decide that is her. I can tell you, I have a 27 year old (same age as Phoebe now) and if you call him a kid, he’s not going to respond nicely to you.
