Book Club Options for JULY & AUGUST 😊💜📚 TBR Jar Prompts "help" me decide

- Let's pick out some books to read in July & August with the "help" of my TBR Jar! I've picked out the options and now I just need your votes! 😊 Watch the video if you want or head straight to the community tab and let me know which ones you want to read!
I'm trying to be a bit more ahead of time for summer, hopefully that will make it easier for everyone to get hold of the books they want to read.
I will read the three books chosen for each month and you can read the ones you want! And then I'll make a video about it where we can chat about what we've read. No pressure, just for fun!

The more I have a little peek into this community the more I am totally in love. This is a wonderful video, I had no idea channels like this existed and feel a bit ashamed of my ignorance! I thoroughly enjoyed, your relaxed friendly style made me feel at home alike and I relaxed really quickly/easily.

I think I might actually get around to 1984 since it's part of your list since I've been wanting to read it for SUCH a long time. 🤩 July sounds like an amazing month for me to join your book club!!
I had such a good laugh at your animation and sound effect during the August picks 😂. I think Big Swiss was screaming for you. I ALSO had Pachinko on my TBR so I think I'll be reading it in August. So thank you for having me get through all of my TBRs too 🥰 This was SUCH a good Book Club picks.
(For a school project... I did a Sula video with terrible acting... it's still on TH-cam to this day but it's been a decade+ 😂)

I’m so glad I’m not the only one with a mixed tbr haha! I feel like 1984 and Clytemnestra couldn’t be further from each other, but we both want to read both 😂
I know, the prompts were really not on my side this time haha! But I also hadn’t done my homework on these books 😂 But yes, lot’s of them seemed to fit Big Swiss!

I just added 1984 to a prompt challenge for a dystopian read. 😂 So I need to read that either way.

Clytemestra sounds so good, as well as A man called Ove. I hope you enjoy the Song of Achilles, I really loved it. Pachenko is also very interesting. I'm not sure I can join the bookclub for July, I have plans to spend July reading Jane Austen, but it is good to have the August options as well. Excellent options, I look forward to hearing you talk about these books :)
I really want to read Clytemnestra but so far the votes are against me 😂 But I’m happy to read the other ones too of course, it’s a lot more fun when others are reading them too. You join whenever you can, there’s no pressure! 😊 I hope you’ll enjoy Austen. And any of these books if you get to them 😊

For July, I will read "A Man Called Ove" - I'm going to start "The Wager" soon for June.
I need to think about August a little bit. "Big Swiss" is a possibility.

I say I’m a huge Fredrik Backman fan but I still haven’t read Ove, so this was just the push I needed to finally read it!! Will be doing that with you in July, assuming it gets picked haha. Definitely interested in Parable of the Sower, Pachinko, and Song of Achilles too 😊 Also, sorry not sorry but I could not help but laugh when you tried to pick the second prompt for the August “humor” prompt to help you out and you just kept picking prompts that didn’t work and spiraling more and more 😂😂

Never read 1984 and am slightly curious but I don’t know if I’ll get to it, haha. Excited about the August books too, since the winners were my two votes! Totally agree that it’s so much more fun to read books with other people and have discussions about it! 🎉

I was hoping for Clytemnestra but oh well 😂 I wouldn’t have picked 1984 either, but now I’ll just get that over with and maybe I’ll like it and then I can say I’ve read it! I’ve got it on audiobook too, so I might do a combo of that, immersive style, both at the same time. I feel like I might loose my concentration otherwise. But the other ones I’m very excited about! 😁

How did The Centre end up in Humor? I need to know 🤣 So sad it wasn't picked up though, I really liked it. Can I vote it back in? ^^
Haha don't ask me, I haven't read it! 😄 It was tagged as "Humor" or "Comedy" on BookBeat, and the description says it's darkly comic! Was it not funny? I'll get to it eventually! I still have to pick out my own tbrs ^^
@@ellenmadebookclub Mmm, interesting. I would not have classified it that way, but I think I can understand the "darkly comic" comment. I don't think it's a funny book, but it's not not funny either ^^' It's such a specific vibe, I have a hard time explaining. I think it might be because the character isn't necessarily super likable (and yet, not necessarily unlikeable either -- ahah, I'm the worst at describing this book), it creates a bit of distance where the "darkly comic" undertones can slip in. Meh, not sure this makes any sense. Maybe it's a sign I need to re-read it so I can describe it better!
