    I see why all the comments are focused on "Sociopath" and "Mother of all Problems" - they really DO sound like winners! My dad had dementia and I would definitely relate to "Mother of all Problems". A sense of humor helps in every situation - no doubt about that! Have a great day!

      Yes I enjoyed them both! I’m sorry to hear about your dad. I’m kind of in the middle of it so find it hard to talk about it, but it is comforting to hear that others go or have gone through it as well. Thank you for sharing that. The book was hilarious though, and I think that dementia is rare in the sense that it brings such comedy with it. So might as well appreciate that! ^^ You too! 💜

    What a great, diverse reading month! Definitely want to check out Sociopath and Galatea, they both sound interesting! I don’t think I’ve read a short story so a Greek mythology seems like a good place to start, haha. Enjoyed hearing your thoughts as always! 😊

      Yes it turned out pretty good 😄 I never read short stories either, but I really enjoyed Galatea. It said a lot in a short space of time, and there’s an afterword that also adds to it. It’s also nice to have finished a story while having a coffee or something, just a quick little indulgence.
      I’m still collecting my thoughts on Sociopath but I really enjoyed it.

    Great video! What a terrific month you’ve had. Sociopath seems very interesting, as does the book about dealing with dementia in a loved one.

      Thank you! 😊 Yes I’m very happy with my reading, Sociopath was great and thought provoking in many ways, as well as entertaining. And The mother of all problems was like a friendly hug. Very funny and very comforting. 🌸

    The Burnings sounds very interesting as a concept, but rather complicated with all the characters. The Mother of all Problems sounds good. It's on my TBR. I haven't read Circe, as it always felt intimidating for some reason. I don't know much about mythology, so maybe that's why. I keep hearing people speaking highly of Madeline Miller though so eventually I'll try one of her books!

    • @ellenmadebookclub
      @ellenmadebookclub  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I was a bit confused for a while! There were other people too, or like less important characters, so I just didn't really know which ones were important to keep track of. But I probably made it sound more complicated than it actually was 😅 It was very good though.
      You really don't need to know mythology to enjoy Circe, or Galatea. I had never heard about Circe at all before reading it, I just knew of the most known names, like Zeus and Athena, but you really don't need to know a lot at all. You could always start with Galatea to see what the style is like. It's very short and very good :) And there's an afterword that gives some more context. I wasn't familiar with that myth either.

      I’m sorry to hear that Bryndis. 💜 It’s a horrible disease, but sometimes you just have to laugh rather than cry! And reading this I did both. I hope you’ll enjoy it too.

    I'm quite intrigued by Sociopath. Also, I read Circe last month and really enjoyed the writing, so I might pick up Galathea at some point (need to get to the Song of Achilles as well, which has been on my shelves for forever). I'm curious about what software you use for editing: the visual representation you did for the first book was really cool!

      I really enjoyed both of them! I know, I want to get to Song of Achilles as well, hopefully this summer.
      Thank you so much 😊 I use Adobe premiere pro to edit, these are really just text/emojis moving around, but it did the job I needed it to!

    I love the breakdown graphics you did for The Burnings -- are you a graphic designer because that was so detailed 😍 I was looking for another book to listen to on audibook and from this video, I think I'll pick up sociopath. I took a look of the synopsis and it sounds SO interesting. I'm picking it up as my audiobook right now. Your month seemed like such a GOOD month!

      Oh I’m so glad to hear that! I have a lot of thoughts about Sociopath (video in the works) but I was starting to feel alone in loving it! I think it needs to be read with a grain of salt, but it was very enjoyable and I learned a lot about my own knowledge gaps, if nothing else.
      The mother of all problems was wonderful and I’m sure the sequel will be just as funny! Can’t remember what it was called, but I think Hot something. Hot mom? Mother of all heat? 😂
