It's a feature on the Pixel 8 Pro called Audio Zoom. When you're zooming in on a subject, it thinks you're trying to pick up the sounds in front of you. If you taking a video of someone singing from a distance and you zoom in, their voice would sound better.
This device is pure awesomeness. And this is coming from somone who also uses an iPhone. The photos, the software, call screening and overall build quality and design makes it a joy to use ❤
@@sandravanos2012 8 Pro is solid. Battery life always depends on the user and how they use their phones throughout the day. I never had any issues with the battery. Last me a full day with medium usage.

I have been considering getting one recently and switch from Iphone for a change. I'm not "married" to any brand so I will just go to any device that cover my needs, at this moment is a nice camera for when I go on holidays, concerts, etc. This week I was thiiiis close to get the 8 Pro from google website becase with the trade-in campaign I get quite a nice discount but first I want to see how 9 Pro is so I can check if it is worth the extra cost or that I can stick with the 8 Pro. Nowadays I got an Iphone 13 and have been looking for comparisons but all I can find is 15 vs Pixel 8 so it is being really hard to decide haha. My main concern is the battery but I don't know how much difference on the daily use there is iphone 13 vs pixel 8 pro

The Pixel 8a is such a good phone for the price! I'd be cautious with the foldable. I had one and had screen issues twice - I took care of it and never dropped it. I'm really satisfied with my Pixel 8 Pro, but I never use its most advertised features: - audio transcript - circle to search - all the AI stuff - call screening And a bunch of others. The camera is its single most important selling point to me.

I am switching from iPhone back to Android. I have used iPhone for the past several years. I watched a video of the Google pixel phones. Now I want one. I have debated which one to buy. I am using a Motorola Edge + right now. Hoping I get a better experience with the pixel. Watching your video made me get excited to get my pixel 8 pro!
Probably someone answered this, but you had "Audio Zoom" on in the video settings. This was why your voice got softer while recording because its trying to point the mic outward to catch someone talking from further away.
On comfort in-hand, the more apt comparison is the Pixel 9 Pro XL and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, not the 13 Pro Max. The 12, 13 and 14 had completely flat sides with sharp edges. The iPhone 15 Pro Max and the Pixel 9 Pro XL have mostly flat sides, but have the sharp corners tapered down. On the iPhones at least it's a noticeable difference.

Informative video - thank you. Presently I have a Pixel 6 - good camera, no complaints but looking forward to the launch of Pixel 9XL Pro. For me it's all about the camera. Hope the Pixel 9 is on par with the Apple 15 since I know Android and guess prefer it. Like the 7 yrs of updates that Pixel is offering.
I did that with my Pixel 7 pro. When the Pixel 8 series came out, I bought a refurbished 7 pro. I am very happy with the device. The differences to the 8 or 9 pro are hardly noticeable to me in everyday life. The device runs quickly and smoothly, the photos are very good even in low light and the battery lasts all day. The differences between the 7 pro, 8 pro and 9 pro may be noticeable on paper, but I don't notice them in everyday use. I won't buy a new used one until the current 7 pro is broken, or when there are really spectacular innovations in the 10 or 11.
What's crazy is I was looking to buy one a while back ,maybe 2/3 months is it was going for around what you showed a little lower maybe,I just got one excellent condition for 330 great deal
Another thing people need to consider is the fact that apparently the pixel 9 series are going to effectively be using the same processor and modem as this generation.
Wife has P8pro and cameras are generally great. 5x optical is not so sharp and has a bit of a blueish tint tho. Easily fixable in post on the phone even ;)

Hey there! Thank you so much for watching. I think $510 is a perfect price right now for the Google pixel 8 Pro. The pixel event is scheduled for August 13th, so if you can wait until then to see if the pixel 9 is worth it, I would. But it also depends if that deal lasts that long. If you want to save a ton of money, the Pixel 8 pro is my favorite phone of 2024. I'm planning on switching from S24 Ultra to Pixel 8 pro. How's the overheating issues? My pixel 7 constantly overheated and had to turn it off during data usage.
I have owned both and in my opinion (for what it’s worth) that would be a big step down. I had modem issues there are multiple issues with that. The only thing the pixel 8 pro was better at was the camera and that depends on the shot, lighting etc!
I prefer my Pixel 8 Pro over my S24 Ultra - subjectively. Objectively, the S24U Is better at everything, except the camera (photos. Video is better on S24U IMO). If you just want the best phone possible, that's the S24U. I have had the Pixel overheat 2-3 times in my entire ownership. I can't say it's something I even worry about. Your mileage may vary. @@Everyday_Legends My big issue with the pixel was certain places my family and I would be they would have service and I wouldn’t. Same service provider. I exchanged my first pixel and same thing. I had this issue with the 6 as well. Skipped the 7 so I can’t speak for it.

My first Pixel ever and I really love it! However, I've noticed recently that something has changed in charging and took the time to look into it. I see that with some PD chargers (most, unfortunately) I get lower speeds and that charging current (mA) is constantly jumping up and down when charging. Is anyone else experiencing it?
Hmmm, I never monitor my charging. I just juice it up to 100% in the morning before work. Are you on the beta? I do notice my charging speeds are way slower than what I get on my S24U
@@Everyday_Legends No, I'm not on any kind of beta. I did monitoring to test various chargers and the Charge Meter app was there when I noticed that it is slower. It still shows 'fast charging' but in the background it jumps up and down. Oh, and I rarely go to 100% trying to keep my battery in best shape ;)
I've got a deal of a 12/256GB P8P still in perfect condition for the same price that I can get a new 12/128GB P9 for. Which one would you recommend to get? I initially thought of the the P9 because of the improved fingerprint scanner, G4 and smaller size as I'm not a fan of big phones but then again, the performance difference of G4 doesn't look that big compared to the G3 either and the P8P being a Pro model has better camera modules w/ bigger storage and battery sizes so I'm kinda lost...
I've had the P8P since it came out, and I recently got the Fold6. I'm returning the Fold because the P8P is much more comfortable to hold - the Fold is sharp and uncomfortable.

No :( but even then, I found myself still using 3rd party launchers with my Samsung phones. I completely recommend Pixel, but the S25U is coming out in January/early next year. I would wait to see what Samsung comes up with 😎

I'm currently using the pixel 8. So far. I love the look of the 9.. But I always use a case and with it. You have to LOOK for the difference. Also. A year release cycle..makes no sense to upgrade when you compare the 2. Maybe will upgrade to the 10-11.

Video calls work fine. I use WhatsApp all the time. It does get a little hot, but if you have a case you won't notice it as much. My S24 ultra does get less hot gaming for the same amount of time, so it's probably the fault of Google's tensor chip. Thanks for watching! Subscribe for more 😎

7 years of updates is great, but how will the hardware hold over that time? With AI advancements I just don’t think the Tensor 3 processor will hold up.
The only concern would be the heat management which could be a big deal, or not. Personal experience, it happened to me maybe 1-2 times where it overheated. Other people have had more issues though. Other than that, everything else is perfectly fine. The pixel is a testament that specs aren't everything. All my Pixel devices feel better than my iPhone and S24U. I still think this is worth it for the price, but if you want a pixel and the confidence that it will last 7 years without issue, look at my Pixel 9 Pro XL review. If that is your price, you could also look at some older iPhones. Not sure where you are located, but in USA you can find iPhone 13 and 14 pro max's for that price range on Ebay. I’d try and find a store near you with a display model and play around with it. It will most likely be the new 9 pro, but the display is essentially the same on the 8 pro, other than brightness

In fact, the 15 pro max is not made of titanium, just a thin layer on a stainless steel case to imitate it!! This is almost a lie from Apple, as usual, they do not lie but they do not say everything!!!
i thought that as well, and i sort of rationalized to myself that a lot of the times if you're going to be going back in those apps, it's best not to clear them so they open back up instantly. actually this seems to be working for me, because on my old samsung galaxy s8+, i would clear my apps compulsively all the time which would result in me completely reloading apps which i didn't need to. i still clear my apps, but now it's moreso when i'm completely finished with all my multitasking since it takes more time to swipe all the way left, as opposed to the impulsive constant app clearing that samsung's layout made me do.
Hi! The iphone makes the best videos, and is also an overall strong and capable phone, the galaxy s24 ultra, in my experience is only in quantity, not quality, still and its camera is bad and the color gamut is wrong and fake most of the time, the google pixel is a bit like dramatic from the camera , while it has very high-quality photos and the phone itself looks beautiful and aesthetic and is quite capable. I currently use an iphone and xperia 1 VI. I exchanged my s24 ultra for an xperia 1 VI because the s24 ultra was unusable for me. This is my description, knowledge and experience and it doesn't have to be suitable for others! Thank you for the video!

When you start thinking that android versions are not as exciting as they where before paired with G3 and a whole bunch of gimmicks e.g: heat sensor.. Not to forget that most "cool" media editing tools are pretty much not on the phone and cannot be used offline. 😒👣 SMH..
I have the 7 pro with G2, I like it. Had no issues, except after almost every second update it drains battery and gets hot. They are some bugs with the phone app beside that best phone. I would buy currently a pixel or iPhone nothing else.

Yeah it may work well, but for the singing part.... If band is playing the audio zoom well and truly messes up, the audio gets so distorted

The pixel event is scheduled for August 13th, so if you can wait until then to see if the pixel 9 is worth it, I would. But it also depends if that deal lasts that long. I'm planning on switching from S24 Ultra to Pixel 8 pro. How's the overheating issues? My pixel 7 constantly overheated and had to turn it off during data usage.
I have owned both and in my opinion (for what it’s worth) that would be a big step down. I had modem issues there are multiple issues with that. The only thing the pixel 8 pro was better at was the camera and that depends on the shot, lighting etc!

I prefer my Pixel 8 Pro over my S24 Ultra - subjectively. Objectively, the S24U Is better at everything, except the camera (photos. Video is better on S24U IMO). If you just want the best phone possible, that's the S24U. I have had the Pixel overheat 2-3 times in my entire ownership. I can't say it's something I even worry about. Your mileage may vary. @@Everyday_Legends My big issue with the pixel was certain places my family and I would be they would have service and I wouldn’t. Same service provider. I exchanged my first pixel and same thing. I had this issue with the 6 as well. Skipped the 7 so I can’t speak for it.
@@chadchadwick1990 I have seen a lot of people talk about this issue on reddit. I use AT&T in Florida and have no issues, but it does appear that others struggle with signal. I am hoping the Pixel 9 series can improve on that. I will be picking up a Pixel 9 Pro to review, so we will see!

My first Pixel ever and I really love it!
However, I've noticed recently that something has changed in charging and took the time to look into it. I see that with some PD chargers (most, unfortunately) I get lower speeds and that charging current (mA) is constantly jumping up and down when charging. Is anyone else experiencing it?
Hmmm, I never monitor my charging. I just juice it up to 100% in the morning before work. Are you on the beta? I do notice my charging speeds are way slower than what I get on my S24U
@@Everyday_Legends No, I'm not on any kind of beta. I did monitoring to test various chargers and the Charge Meter app was there when I noticed that it is slower. It still shows 'fast charging' but in the background it jumps up and down.
Oh, and I rarely go to 100% trying to keep my battery in best shape ;)
Theres a google lens shortcut right on the homescreen, so you dont need to use the camera and circle to search!

I've got a deal of a 12/256GB P8P still in perfect condition for the same price that I can get a new 12/128GB P9 for. Which one would you recommend to get?
I initially thought of the the P9 because of the improved fingerprint scanner, G4 and smaller size as I'm not a fan of big phones but then again, the performance difference of G4 doesn't look that big compared to the G3 either and the P8P being a Pro model has better camera modules w/ bigger storage and battery sizes so I'm kinda lost...

I've had the P8P since it came out, and I recently got the Fold6. I'm returning the Fold because the P8P is much more comfortable to hold - the Fold is sharp and uncomfortable.

Very tempted to switch from Samsung to this, but I'm a sucker for customisation. Do Pixels have an equivalent to Galaxy Themes with a community that releases different themes and app icons?
No :( but even then, I found myself still using 3rd party launchers with my Samsung phones. I completely recommend Pixel, but the S25U is coming out in January/early next year. I would wait to see what Samsung comes up with 😎
The Pixel 8 Pro is the best Pixel phone design by far, probably the best phone design in my opinion
(Matte titanium would make it perfect tho)

But I always use a case and with it. You have to LOOK for the difference.
Also. A year release cycle..makes no sense to upgrade when you compare the 2. Maybe will upgrade to the 10-11.

Video calls work fine. I use WhatsApp all the time. It does get a little hot, but if you have a case you won't notice it as much. My S24 ultra does get less hot gaming for the same amount of time, so it's probably the fault of Google's tensor chip. Thanks for watching! Subscribe for more 😎

7 years of updates is great, but how will the hardware hold over that time? With AI advancements I just don’t think the Tensor 3 processor will hold up.
The only concern would be the heat management which could be a big deal, or not. Personal experience, it happened to me maybe 1-2 times where it overheated. Other people have had more issues though. Other than that, everything else is perfectly fine. The pixel is a testament that specs aren't everything. All my Pixel devices feel better than my iPhone and S24U. I still think this is worth it for the price, but if you want a pixel and the confidence that it will last 7 years without issue, look at my Pixel 9 Pro XL review. If that is your price, you could also look at some older iPhones. Not sure where you are located, but in USA you can find iPhone 13 and 14 pro max's for that price range on Ebay. If you want to stick with Android, then 100% can recommend the Pixel 8 Pro. It is such a good phone for the price. Make sure to pick it up in blue! Best color ever. I traded my Pixel 7 Pro for the 8 Pro but so far I'm not liking it very much, it gets hot very easily and the bezels get scratched and nicked even with a Otter Box Defender case on. I called Google and they said it's "normal use"...

@@chriswilson5370 hmm not sure. I’ve had many pixels and never had an issue with scrolling. Maybe I’m just not noticing? I’d try and find a store near you with a display model and play around with it. It will most likely be the new 9 pro, but the display is essentially the same on the 8 pro, other than brightness

I have the same color, size, and storage! It's such a great phone. The P8P is still a better value though in my opinion (under $500 on ebay/swappa). i thought that as well, and i sort of rationalized to myself that a lot of the times if you're going to be going back in those apps, it's best not to clear them so they open back up instantly.
actually this seems to be working for me, because on my old samsung galaxy s8+, i would clear my apps compulsively all the time which would result in me completely reloading apps which i didn't need to. i still clear my apps, but now it's moreso when i'm completely finished with all my multitasking since it takes more time to swipe all the way left, as opposed to the impulsive constant app clearing that samsung's layout made me do.

The iphone makes the best videos, and is also an overall strong and capable phone, the galaxy s24 ultra, in my experience is only in quantity, not quality, still and its camera is bad and the color gamut is wrong and fake most of the time, the google pixel is a bit like dramatic from the camera , while it has very high-quality photos and the phone itself looks beautiful and aesthetic and is quite capable. I currently use an iphone and xperia 1 VI. I exchanged my s24 ultra for an xperia 1 VI because the s24 ultra was unusable for me. This is my description, knowledge and experience and it doesn't have to be suitable for others! Thank you for the video!

I have the 7 pro with G2, I like it. Had no issues, except after almost every second update it drains battery and gets hot. They are some bugs with the phone app beside that best phone. I would buy currently a pixel or iPhone nothing else.
