Dealership experience is HUGE! The Toyota dealership in my area is terrible. However the big GM dealership is first class as is a Ford dealership in my home town.
@@justinbosley7830 yep its getting harder to find a good dealership today, especially for toyota. But they are out there. Just takes a lot of weeding thru the trash dealers
Just throwing my two cents in, my brother picked up a 2020 Frontier Pro 4X that's the old body style but in 20 and 21 they put the new Drive Line, new engine, new transmission in the old body style before they did the sheet metal change so he got a good deal on the old body with the new Driveline. he's had it for 3 years it's a fantastic truck zero problems naturally aspirated 3.8 V6, solid transmission plenty of power shifts like butter, four-wheel drive Works flawless rides good handles good he doesn't have all the new bells and whistles which he did not want like Lane departure, start stop, etc so he kind of got the best of both worlds but with this new Drive Line he's getting around 20 miles per gallon in town which is phenomenal for a truck like that so based upon the experience of the Driveline that he's had that I personally witnessed I would definitely buy a frontier especially after looking at all the problems that Tacoma is having right now if you do any kind of Internet investigation I think you'll probably run and not walk not to mention the frontier is priced significantly less.
I respect every brand and after much research this former (aircraft) mechanic, who's owned most every brand, chose a 2023 Colorado ZR2. Very pleased with decision, flawless. The 2.7I4T is a BEAST.
It's amazing how even a few years can make a drastic change you can't be brand loyal to anything anymore you have to evaluate each individual model every time. And you guys repeatedly whether you realize it or not was kind of backhanding RAM but I think that says a lot they've stayed consistent and as you admitted have made improvements to where Ford and Chevy have went backwards so I think that's worth noting.
As always nailing it on the head. I worked in shops for 17 years before career change. I've watched all brands have their moments of shine and bad ideas. I i dont discriminate much. I am a toyota fan girl. Woth the new issues and turbo designs, i grabbed the 24 pro4x. Right now i have a 21 rav4 because its a good dang motor. 24 pro4x and a 1980 camaro woth a 69 camaro motor in it. I'm all over the map with vehicles. I think right now, your ranking is pretty much dead on. I will say this. For buying experience, North Canton toyota in north canton ohio is a going place for buying. Honest dudes. Bought 3 of 4 toyotas there. For warranty, a toyota in akron ohio on market street. Those guys are good for warranty. At least that has been my experience over recent years.
I’m going to get a Nissan Frontier when I’m ready to buy . It’s my pick as the best fit for me and it’s the best one to be a dependable truck for many years. Honda Ridgeline would be a good choice as well but I’m wanting more of a truck .
I’ve been in Medical Devices & Equipment, Automotive Electronics, and Aerospace Quality Assurance and Manufacturing for the last 50 years and it starts and ends with the quality of Design and Manufacturing. A large volume of non conformance’s, recalls and TSB’s tells me everything I need to know about a manufacturer and competent service after the sale to rectify those issues determines if someone will come back and purchase their products in the future. Shit happens…but how you deal with it makes all the difference. These are not cheap toys we’re talking about and it’s infuriating to have to spend time and fight for repairs in the service department. I’ve bought GM and Ford products most of my life and have had enough of their problems ending up costing me time and money. Now I’m a first time Nissan customer buying a loaded Pro4x in January. So far so good, the truck is very nice, is easy to use and does everything I need it to do.
Excellent video! I can’t really create a list of rankings like yours, as I have not had as much experience with all the brands like you. But like the saying goes, “they just don’t make them like they used to”… I think it certainly applies to vehicles! With all the plastic parts (to help save weight and increase MPGs) and all the tech (switches, screens, sensors, wiring and computers) and with all the little plastic clips holding things together (rather than actual screws or bolts) it just seems like vehicles aren’t quite as “solid” or put together all that well anymore. And I think that goes for ALL manufacturers!! Do I think that there is a “clear winner”, someone at the top of list!!?? No, I think they’ll all about the same! And like you said, we’re splitting hairs to really separate one from the other! I have said this before, but it’s still funny… people often say “Jeep is junk”… but everyday on my commute to and from work, I see plenty of Jeep products out there on the road! Equal to every other brand, if not more than the others!! So, did all those Jeep owners really ignore all the opinions of the internet and buy a piece of junk? No. They spent the hard earned money on a vehicle that works for them and they trust. Sorry for the ramble.
Frontier all day. I got a 2019 with low mileage, pro 4x , optioned out. Add a better head unit if you want, but it smashes the Tacoma. And it's $11k less than any equivalent Taco, I have no idea why they are so slept on. Must be Nissans history with poor CVTs in some of their pre 2016 cars.
Which mid-sized truck let’s you lock the front axle, can disconnect the front sway bar, has a V6, comes in a manual, can take the top completely off, will hold a 4x8 sheet of plywood, comes with 33” tires, can travel across almost any serious off-road trail, and can allow the doors to be taken off? And can easily fit 35” tires? Gladiator. And before you say they’re garbage, I have 66k trouble-free miles on my manual Rubicon Gladiator, and I paid $46k for it in 2021.
Unfortunately it's to long to be truly able to navigate all the same terrains that the regular jeeps can. On the highways jeeps are lame and the power is not really there.
@robertopics maybe in the rocks. But in the woods swamps, mud etc the gladiator will do everything a wrangler can and it has room to carry everything and tows more. You could not pry my gladiator away from me
@@robertopics It’s a Rubicon for a reason. Get it? It went over the Rubicon Trail?? And you’re missing point: we’re talking mid-sized trucks. Put 35s or 37s on a Rubicon without any cutting. Try that on any other mid-size. Ain’t happening.
I say this based on my own first-hand experience. The absolute worst and most unreliable vehicle I have ever owned was a Nissan. That vehicle forever burned me on ever owning another import brand again. Since then, I have had Chevys and Fords, but have mostly driven Mopars since the 1980's. ALL of the American brand vehicles I have owned have been superbly reliable. In fact, I bought a used 89 Dodge Omni with 110K miles on it, drove it to over 300K miles, and it was still going strong when I sold it. I have had my 2012 Ram 5.7L Hemi for over 10 years, which now has over 100K miles, and I have never had a single problem with it. However, I am about to sell the Ram because I want to downsize and ordered a 2024 Ford Ranger with the 2.3L ecoboost. I have no reservations about the reliability of a turbo-charged vehicle as I have owned a number of them.
I have a Jeep Mojave and just crossed the 50k miles trouble free and plenty of smiles. Wouldn't change it for the world. However, i dont disagree with the list. The other option for me is the Frontier.
Yep I've known so many people with jeeps and have owned 8 personally. Not one of them or myself ever had a single issue with any of them. And 2 went over 120k miles. Love the jeeps and how reliable they actually are
One could easily argue they all could get to 200k. But how much would repairs cost to get them there. In that case I say gladiator is the best to get to too cost wise
My best offroad was a mid 80's nissan king cab 4x4 stick shift. That little sucker would haul butt. Had it 7 years in Northern Manitoba, lynn lake and Thompson.
I was going to replace my 09 Taco for the new Taco, but Toyota raised their price so high that I have to switch to Nissan Frontier Pro 4x. Goodbye Toyota, I hate what you do for me.😂
Toyota is simply overpriced! A Japanese design truck , made in Mexico and sold to the American citizens at a much higher price than its Competitors, is not good or no bueno .
@CACressida yet he's the lead engineer. I'm aware it's a Japanese company but to say the truck is designed it Japan is not true. I'm sure they discuss but not designed there
Can not comment on Tacoma but have 24 tundra max I just love this truck also had a 22 and 23 and now 24 had no problems with any of them or the dealership they took many thousands of the sticker this truck is smooth powerful great truck
The one thing Toyota had that put them way head of the pack was reliability and customer service in the service department. This is no longer the case so features, the ability to order what you want, the interior comfort are all behind IMO on Toyota. Try leaving your perceived issues go sit in the front and back seat of a Gladiator operate the knobs and switches. Compare with a Tacoma and come tell me with a straight face it isn’t nicer. Previously had a Ram pickup and over 8 years sure there were a few piddling issues but the biggest problem I can recall was the brake light on the back of the cab leaked. The biggest issue was the 3-4 visits to the dealership to resolve it.
First truck: Toyota is a good truck. However, I am not paying their increased new generation prices. I will search for a manual third Gen. Second… the Chevrolet Colorado is worth a look and third is GMC.
@@MatosJr1004 I agree with him on Nissan and the relative improvement of FCA products with their engines. What I disagree with him on is his position on Toyota. Sure they are having their problems now with the tundra, but pretty much everything else in their lineup is pretty solid.
People who say ford is quality has never heard of the 5.4 triton. It seems like all the vehicles with any sort of cylinder deactivation are also problematic
All brands have had and will continue to have major issues. No way around it. Every vehicle by every brand now is a crap shoot of reliability. For so many reasons. What matters most is how the company stands with the customer during issues.
Also, I agree with this new ranking. I have a 2007 tacoma 70k miles, and I will keep it forever. Tried to work with a toyota dealer on a new purchase, gave up, and ran into exactly what you mentioned. I've been hearing good things about the frontier, especially the price!
Up until 2021 I could boldly strand on a hardened concrete block and say , *"**#Toyota**"* 💪🏼 Being honest, I can not say that today. 😢 Via many channels, the disgruntled Toyota owners are jumping on the *"Nissan Frontier"* , and I am not hearing any complaints.
People love to bash domestic trucks but I put 240K Miles on my 02 V8 Dakota without issue, my 14 F150 limited ecoboost was perfect for 100K before I replaced it with a 4x4, I still own my 147K 19 Colorado diesel 4x4 that replaced the Ford and it was trouble free for 142K miles when the ring on the flywheel stopped communicating with the crank position sensor. It sucks that it failed but the great disappointment was the dealer technicians took months to figure out. I als own a 20 Gladiator and its biggest problem is the lack of power with the pe Rasta r.
my 2015 Ram 1500 with a 5.7 now has 148k and has pretty darn good! i would buy again and off road alot. i do have a really good suspenision setup.. Thanks
GM HD diesel trucks are dying all over the place. They can’t fix their fueling and the trucks just die-I mean people are returning them and being given new trucks. That’s bad. Toyota has metal filings in their engines and that probably means new engines. These are a couple of big stories to break recently. Terrible
covered the tundra engine issues alot on this channel. I dont get into the hd or full size trucks to much here as they dont get the views like the mid size trucks do.
I’m old enough to remember when Ford and GM truck engines and transmissions were bulletproof. They would rust out before those drivetrains gave up. Dodge trucks always had crappy starters and electrical issues.
@@Jason-Samko wow I didn't know. I kind of always believed that Packard made the last commercial available straight 8. I'm pretty sure some 🚛 might had run something like straight 8, but I would have guessed Cummings or some other tractor manufacturer.
Nice objectivity. I too get tired of the black / white prejudiced fanboy rhetoric. Every manufacturer has blown it now and then, and each has its brilliant moments. Wow, 37 trucks. Im on the other end of the scale. No new motor vehicles ever except one Honda ATV (bulletproof). Same 1987 Hardbody for almost 30 years. Still love it. The Nissan haters are welcome to take a ride any time. If I could genetically modify it into a 1 ton diesel for the big jobs, I would have my two dream rigs.
I'm a high mile driver at 40k miles a year with half on highway and half in the woods. I've tried it all. Driving them u til they die, driving them until paid off, selling them every year, etc. Found the sweet spot for me financially is to drive them 18 to 20 months and flip them for a new one. But I order to do this and not loose any money I have to be smart when I buy and get the lowest possible price.
I want a little extra inventory available in a couple of months so I can get a better deal on a Frontier 😂. I pick based on process of elimination. Electric… Out! 4 Cylinder…. Out! . Turbo…. OUT! My pick is easy peezy.
Here is a question for you. The used car dealers in your area what brand trucks are they over flowing with? Seems to me those brands that are harder to find are what worth keeping maybe.
You might be on to something there. I don't mess with used cars so never look at them. And I personally don't care about long term reliability. I am Interested in the truck that I can buy for the most amount of money off and has the capability I need. Cause I'm gonna sell it in 18 months to 2 years with 60-80k miles on it and it won't cost me a penny ro own. Because of that everything I say is unbiased and just fact based without my opinion in the equation since none of this stuff matters to me personally.
@@Jason-Samko Trading all the time and always having a vehicle under factory warranty has it's perks as long as you don't end up going more in the whole. Last time I talked with a new vehicle salesman he said 85% of people lease now. I can see why with people paying huge payments today. What's changed buying used to be 3 year loans and now up to 8 years crazy. But just my option to each their own.
Awesome video. I can't compete with 37 vehicles, but it is interesting to see your rankings and comment section s. In my experience: Chevy- Currently own last gen colorado v6 with 50k. Love it. Service center near me is borderline incompotent however. Nissan- owned a 4 banger frontier for 10 years. Rear diff went out twice within 100k, but was covered under warranty. Trans lasted till 215k, got rid of it at 265k. Great value! Toyota- 4.7 v8 tundra in my backyard. Was my father's. Love it. Ram/Jeep- never owned one. Ram interiors are sooo nice. Absolute luxury. Ford- drove f-250 company trucks. Suspension felt floaty/awful, even brand new. Test drove 21' Ranger and didn’t like suspension. Ranger Raptor looks like a blast though. In the future, I simply won't buy anything turbo.
I agree 90% Toyota is Mexico built crap now! And before anyone says you are an American truck owner, I currently drive a 2013 Toyota Tundra. I would maybe put Ford above Jeep/RAM but Toyota is not even close they are far below the others.
This has me torn. I will be buying my first truck and I was really wanting the 2024 Tacoma TRD OR Premium and I know the Tundra has failed but I have not seen many failures except the engine fan vents for the Tacoma. I keep my vehicles 10+ years and wanted reliable and the Tacoma has historically been "the long term truck". I have no issues with the 4cyl turbo as I've had 3 Subaru's all 4cyl turbo's. Tons of torque and power. I was looking at the ZR2 but I couldn't help but question the long term reliability of Chevy. I keep going back and forth and though the Colorado looks nice I do prefer the looks of the Tacoma and like the interior much better of the Tacoma but, am now worried about my purchase with Toyota and am second guessing myself. Wondering if the ZR2 is a better long term purchase. I appreciate your content bud! Keep it up!
Every truck today is a crap shoot on reliability. But I'd pick the company that you feel with do the best to have your butt covered when issues do arise. Both the taco and the colorado are great trucks. But statistically you get alot more for your money with the colorado. And neither offer better reliability of the other right now
I love your daily videos, thank you. I mean no offense to anyone and this is just my opinion. For trucks, Honda is the most dependable and reliable, Honda makes the best engines, still using a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder, I am buying a Honda Ridgeline, Ford, GM and Stellantis are garbage and going to turbo 4 & 6 cylinders, turbos will cut the life of your engine in half. Sad but Toyota has dropped dramatically in quality lately, Nissan still has a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder and has risen in the ranks but they do have other problem as well as outdated interior, hydraulic steering, paint chip problems because of thin paint applications and inferior primer underneath.
Honda Ridgeline is amazing. I did not include Honda as it is not a body on frame truck. I love the Ridgeline though. But wanted to stick to apples to apples comparisons.
If money was no issue, you’d really actually pick the ridgeline over all other options?? I find that hard to believe. Unless you’re over the age of 45… lol
Paint issues would be considered a real problem. Hydraulic steering has NEVER been a "problem" for over half a century. Just because something doesn't follow a trend doesn't make it a problem. My Hardbody is 37 years old, and that "problem" power steering is still working. One leaky hose replaced is all that's ever gone wrong. 428,000 miles. Not too problematic at all. "Outdated " interior is very subjective too. Just because Nissan SENSIBLY didn't put a 20" TV in the dash or give it cartoon style is not a problem. It's sensible, comfortable, and quiet and solid. That never goes out of style. Nissan knows its customers and provides that for them. If you want Outdated, try my 1987 Hardbody. No tilt or telescopic, and the ergonomics are still good enough that I can road trip in and not get tired of it. Only mods are a new steering wheel and Acura seats to replace the worn out stock ones.
I almost value customer service over the vehicle itself. And from what ive heard from GM's care for recalls and ease of buying experience, that's enough to push me into their camp. Solid company that isn't driven by greed and cost cutting.
I had paint issues and chipping on my Frontier..Is it true that domestics trucks and cars have a stronger paint finish from the factory then import vehicles?
Honest question here: are we implying Chevy Colorado turbo boost engines are supposed more reliable than the other turbo boost engines like on the new Tacoma or Ranger? Is there a difference of reliability between all the turbo engines?!?! I don’t get how Chevy is ranked number 1 here if we are strictly talking mid size, excluding full size like the Silverado which is reliable.
Reliability is much more than just the engine with repair costs today. And yes I trust the gm turbo 4 more than I trust the toyota. The ford t4 would be more trust worthy that both. But ford lack of quality control and horrible way they handle recalls and repairs (toyota doing the same) means in my opinion yes gms is way above both ford and toyota in reliably right now
@@Jason-Samko Thanks for the breakdown but when just discussing turbo engine for reliability, in all your years learning about the new engines, what makes Chevy Turbo more reliable than the Toyota? I get ford Quality control and service sucks and Toyota turbo engines gaskets are an issue on the V6 twin turbos (not the 2.4l ......yet), but if we're just talking reliability of how the engine is built, can you elaborate more on why the Chevy turbo would be architecturally more reliable than the other two? I know Chevy's customer service and repair are improving but I'm still curious on which turbo engine (the away it's built) is more reliable than the other two? Thanks Samko!
@D_F_L_ I do not feel the chevy turbo 4 is better than any of the other turbo 4s. In my opinion they are all the same and will all have issues and will all have recalls and will all need repairs after warranty and are all equal. But the chevy and the ford 4turbos have been used in truck apll9cations for 5 years each now and have had the bugs worked out and proven for truck use.
@@Jason-Samko wouldn’t you be concern that turbo charged the higher trim engine even more on the higher trims? They took that existing engine and increased the turbo on them even more output which concerns me on the zr2. Yes, the engines been out for 5 years but the tuning is different which worries me about longevity on the ZRs and trial boss trim. Are GM, and ford still making cars to break after 100-150k miles?
Ford is definitely the worst in my opinion. Their engines cannot hold together. I know a few people who have had problems with the 5.0. Then I would say Toyota with their current problems. Followed by gm. The small displacement engines burn way too much oil. They have had cases of the 2.4l engines in Malibu cobalt ect with burning oil. The same is true with dodge as well. However for truck the 3.0l duramax has been known to burn a quart of oil between changes. I feel like Nissan and ram can be tied. Nissan has had problems with their transmissions. I would place Stelantis ahead. Jeep Ram Dodge products are definitely the highest quality vehicles right now.
Nissan CVT transmissions in their cars were real garbage. I've never heard of any major problems in the Frontier or Xterra transmissions since they are not CVT.
@@Jason-Samko I'm done buying any coupes or sedans too, their time is over. It's a veritable ocean of CVT transmissions. Acura is the best bet, specifically an Integra to avoid CVT but I don't know why I would spend nearly $40k or more on a car with little utility. I would honestly just point someone at a Hyundai/Kia for the standard 100,000 miles warranty and tell them to replace it every 3-4 years. You can get the Forte with a manual or dual clutch automatic. Cheap entry price on a grocery getter and credit builder for young people just starting out.
@Scroll_Lock agree 100%. My daughter just bought a new car. I told her buy the cheapest one that has what you want and sell it in 3 years and get another one. No reason to think of a car today as a long term vehicle and also no reason to pay crazy high repair bills trying to keep a cheap car alive. She bought a Buick envista with a 50k warranty for 22k and loves it.
Hard to believe but toyota and ram take the top spot in the worst. More than likely Toyota will recover but it will take another 2 yrs at least to regain trust.
I just recently started my journey into looking at owning a new truck but from what I can understand, ever since the ownership changed it seems to be that toyota is chasing the dollar in order to appeal to shareholders more than giving a quality product. Like a good example is the 24 taco not having a v6 option and the 25 supposed to be having it as an option, but not as stock engine. Honestly to me (who has been pretty set on trying to get a 3rd Gen), this is a big slap in the face
Nissan takes top honors nowadays and everything else is lagging far behind with these newer 4cyl turbo powertrains there is zero history of reliability period. We won’t know diddly about these engines for another 5 yrs. Min. By then hopefully Toyota will get their crap together. They have the deepest pockets by a wide margin but current leadership and design group is utterly worthless and out of touch with what made them so successful. Top down house cleaning is in order.
It's the luck of the draw unreliability I owned over 45 vehicles so far in my lifetime and it's a crapshoot on reliability don't stay with one brand. I like variety😅
Agree 100%!! Said it many times all trucks are equal today. The one thing that sets the brands apart for me is the quality of customer care after we buy the truck. And how warranties and issues are handled.
Too bad mazda doesn't make any trucks in the US. They seem to be producing some of the top SUVs lately , if they made trucks id definitely check them out
Personal experience, and I am not on your Level with experience with new but I have had a 2020 Silverado, 22 f150, 23 canyon. So far the Canyon is the best quality and my favorite. They all have really specific issues and quirks.
Gm crushed it with the new canyon and colorado. It's almost like gm just cracked the whip and said no more! From now on we excel at everything or die trying. And they have been crushing it
Dealerships today mostly suck for all brands. It's hard to find good dealers that are not thieves and scum. I'd put it at a ratio of about 2 out of 10 are great dealerships.
I have a 24 Ranger so far its a nice truck but i have to knock Ford on quality control my truck came with a piece of interior missing. I Didn’t even think about looking at the Nissan i had a 21 Ranger with no issues
Oh, and I’ll never buy a Toyota. They think their shit don’t stink. They completely lost me when they wanted to charge a subscription for remote start. Idiots. It’s insulting that they’d even think of doing that to their customers
Everyone has their own preference. I was always a big Toyota fan but not any more. Looking at buying a midsize truck in the next 6 months and I am leaning towards the GMC Canyon AT4X. The only thing I don't like about it is the interior color, I am not a fan of Obsidian Rush.
@@rjejames28 I can't find a dealer in my area that has one I can look at/sit in. I won't just order a truck without knowing if I like it or not. It's sad that dealers ( in my area anyway ) can't get stock to have on their lot, they all seem to expect the customer to order something without ever getting to sit in it. Maybe by the time I am ready to buy somebody will have one I can check out.
With all trucks having issues today our only safe haven is in customer care and how the manufacturers take care of us when the issues happen. For that reason I agree 100% with your thoughts.
I agree with you on the order. Everyone I know with a jeep seems to have electrical issues. Maybe when stellantis finally sells off jeep , GM can buy them. 😂
I would love it if ram and jeep were bought by an American company or broke off and started their own. I know the layer is not really possible. But one can wish!
i can’t rank CDJR/Stellantis higher than 4th because i can’t forgive them for the atrocious 2.7 V6 they sold my then wife in early 2000’s.😂Possibly the worst engine ever made. My now Wife’s 2017 3.6 Charger was great mechanically. electrical gremlins and infotainment screen adhesive melting and rendering it useless were a problem though.
@SamkoWorkShop who else do you think would buy them? I can't see Ford doing it since they have the Bronco. Toyota is in too much debt. I pray Kia or Hyundai doesn't. Lol
@371kenny great question. Hopefully it would be an American company coming from outside of existing brands. Someone without political ties, and doesn't owe any group any favors😂
It’s been my experience you can get a p o s in any brand, even Toyota…I’ve owned them all just about and had some that were good and some that were great….just buy what you like and if it gives you problems get rid of it.. I had a Nissan that gave me a few little problems and Nissan wouldn’t repair it….even though they sent me a letter extending my warranty… but I’d still buy another if l wanted one….my current Silverado has been great so far….good luck
Frontier bringing up the rear. I think that Toyota is really banking on their reputation and allowing their quality to slip as a result. They know they have devout fans who will only buy their brand. I'm a Chevy fan and I acknowledge that they don't have the greatest reputation for reliability. However, I've never had any issues with mine. 2009 Cobalt, 2016 Cruze, 2020 Malibu, and 2023 Colorado. All of them have been great and my Colorado is going strong at 8k. Ford and Ram both just kind of exist to me. No crazy hate. I will say that I disagree with you on GM's customer service. That's probably their weakest link and they'll make you fight a three way battle between them, the dealer, and yourself for any issues you have.
@icosthop9998 when I was an engineer for gm my bosses made me give my reports to their secretary so she could fix all my spelling and grammar errors before they submitted it. I'm 60 and still spell people "pepole" 80% of the time.
Agree. I have seen 2 great toyota dealers. Serra toyota in bay city Michigan and Franklin toyota in statesboro GA. In between there I've talked to many toyota dealers and often very disappointed and disgusted.
Someone mentioned to me that Toyota has the most debt out of any auto maker. How could that be? their cars are so over priced and they always seem to be low on inventory. I don't understand how they are being built in Mexico for 2$ an hour and can't pass the savings on to the consumer.
Dude. Cmon. Jeep sucks along with Ram. Going by first hand and my friend owns a shop. "When i see Jeep, i hear ca-ching." Thats his slogan. Also. You dont have to like consumer reports. However, they poll owners.
And yet I can buy any truck I want and I chose a jeep gladiator to take me many remote miles into swamps with no cell service. 309 kiles a week in a place that would require a 10 mile hike to get help in 100 degree heat and 90% humidity, filled with 7 poisonous snakes and gators everywhere. And I chose jeep as the one to be the most reliable and I could of bought any truck made today by any brand. Take it for what it's worth. But that's my actions and my money talking

Frontier or Titan I have the 2023 titan pro4x and I love it
Both fantastic!
Excellent comment and appreciate you listing so good dealers to buy from and good service dealers.
Finally someone understands how bad the new toyota company has become. Thanks for an honest review.
Glad you enjoyed the comparison
I’m going to get a Nissan Frontier when I’m ready to buy . It’s my pick as the best fit for me and it’s the best one to be a dependable truck for many years. Honda Ridgeline would be a good choice as well but I’m wanting more of a truck .
Frontier is a great truck. And fits the needs of 90% of people looking for a good mid size
Bought one last week. Love it!!!
It's a solid truck. You won't regret it.
💯 Agree !! I will pick the Frontier before the rest of
I had a 2016 Desert Runner. Got a great deal on it. Super dependable. Loved it!
How would you rank them in 2022? On the market for a used truck, 21’ or 22’
One of the best thought out videos on this subject I’ve seen.
Thank you. Greatly appreciated
Well said and great points. Congratulations on the new pro 4x
Congrats !! Great choice !! Agree 💯
This is such a great comment. Well said and agree with every point you hit on.
Great video, bringing the truth to market!
Thanks. Glad ypu enjoyed it
Frontier all day.
Such a great truck.
I own a 23 gladiator rubicon. And agree 100%. Best truck ever made for my lifestyle

Congratulations on your new ranger! It's a beautiful truck!
Love the jeeps and how reliable they actually are
Which one makes it 200,000 miles. Winner is Frontier 🥳🎉🍿
One could easily argue they all could get to 200k. But how much would repairs cost to get them there. In that case I say gladiator is the best to get to too cost wise
I’ve owned 2 Frontiers, if you keep them on the road they’re fine. As far as off road capability, they fall way short on performance!
My best offroad was a mid 80's nissan king cab 4x4 stick shift. That little sucker would haul butt. Had it 7 years in Northern Manitoba, lynn lake and Thompson.
Yes Sir

Can not comment on Tacoma but have 24 tundra max I just love this truck also had a 22 and 23 and now 24 had no problems with any of them or the dealership they took many thousands of the sticker this truck is smooth powerful great truck
Fantastic! And love that you have had amazing experiences with toyota and love the trucks
Yep ram and jeep quality is actually second to none in my opinion. Fit and finish, lux and quality of materials ram and jeep crush it.
First truck: Toyota is a good truck. However, I am not paying their increased new generation prices. I will search for a manual third Gen. Second… the Chevrolet Colorado is worth a look and third is GMC.
Great tucks and great options

Yep sad how toyota has let all this happen. But frontier sure is solid
Up until 2021 I could boldly strand on a hardened concrete block and say , *"**#Toyota**"* 💪🏼
Being honest, I can not say that today. 😢
Via many channels, the disgruntled Toyota owners are jumping on the *"Nissan Frontier"* , and I am not hearing any complaints.
Yep history has all brands cycling up and down. But today, right now, this is now I put them
Frontier should be top

People love to bash domestic trucks but I put 240K
Miles on my 02 V8 Dakota without issue, my 14 F150 limited ecoboost was perfect for 100K before I replaced it with a 4x4, I still own my 147K 19 Colorado diesel 4x4 that replaced the Ford and it was trouble free for 142K miles when the ring on the flywheel stopped communicating with the crank position sensor. It sucks that it failed but the great disappointment was the dealer technicians took months to figure out. I als own a 20 Gladiator and its biggest problem is the lack of power with the pe Rasta r.
Domestic brands have always been my smartest purchases and made me the most money
my 2015 Ram 1500 with a 5.7 now has 148k and has pretty darn good! i would buy again and off road alot. i do have a really good suspenision setup..

The good old days of the ford straight 8

Deals will only get better as it gets closer to the refreshed 25 coming
I think you nailed it

Ram, GM, Nissan, Ford, and Toyota last.
Thank you. I appreciate you listing how you would rank them
Here is a question for you.
In my experience:
Chevy- Currently own last gen colorado v6 with 50k.
Great info and appreciate you adding your experience and thoughts
I agree 90% Toyota is Mexico built crap now! And before anyone says you are an American truck owner, I currently drive a 2013 Toyota Tundra. I would maybe put Ford above Jeep/RAM but Toyota is not even close they are far below the others.
Love the old tundras! Have many friends with them and all are over 300k miles and flawless
Mine is really low miles 80k so that is good to know 😁
@@2agunguy5 we call that barely broke in for that gen tundra
seriously....it only had 34k on it 3 years ago when I bought it. I jumped on it!
@@Jason-Samko Nice
Hydraulic steering isn't a problem it's weak armed, fluffy triceps drivers that are the problem
I almost value customer service over the vehicle itself. And from what ive heard from GM's care for recalls and ease of buying experience, that's enough to push me into their camp. Solid company that isn't driven by greed and cost cutting.
Agree 100 and exactly the reason I would buy a gm truck today
I had paint issues and chipping on my Frontier..Is it true that domestics trucks and cars have a stronger paint finish from the factory then import vehicles?
You realize frontier is made in Canton Mississippi. That's domestic
My tacoma paint was the worst I've ever had on any brand I've owned. But my 4 runner paint is very good!

That duramax 3.0 is an amazing motor!
I don’t think anything with buying or dealerships should be a factor. That’s an individual basis.
You might be right. To me it all matters
They’re not #1 or even close. The new 2.7 turbo in the Colorado is unproven… give it 7-10 years and then we can rank it.
Good insite and info.
Nissan CVT transmissions in their cars were real garbage. I've never heard of any major problems in the Frontier or Xterra transmissions since they are not CVT.

Lol
@maccooley3451 I'm ranking brands today currently in 2024. Past is littered with every brands major screw ups.
Great point and agree 100
Appreciate your thoughts and ranking.
Missing the T in warranty
I probably made 10 other spelling errors too. I suck at spelling and have serious a.d.d when it comes to words. Always have always will.
@SamkoWorkShop *"**#Talk_Text**"* usually makes me look like I am super intelligent
🎓 📚📚📚
Helps with both grammar and spelling. 🧐
@icosthop9998 when I was an engineer for gm my bosses made me give my reports to their secretary so she could fix all my spelling and grammar errors before they submitted it. I'm 60 and still spell people "pepole" 80% of the time.
There is NO reason why any of a mid size truck should cost more than $47K. If some can do it at or under $47K, all should be able to.
Toyota is junk
Bla Bla Bla, talk too much and with that many new vehicles I doubt you ever worked on any.
Toyota dealers are the worst
Agree. I have seen 2 great toyota dealers. Serra toyota in bay city Michigan and Franklin toyota in statesboro GA. In between there I've talked to many toyota dealers and often very disappointed and disgusted.
Hmm… I don’t agree with that. They are all bad
Someone mentioned to me that Toyota has the most debt out of any auto maker. How could that be? their cars are so over priced and they always seem to be low on inventory. I don't understand how they are being built in Mexico for 2$ an hour and can't pass the savings on to the consumer.
Toyota is the most in debt company in the world. And I agree no idea how or why.
You know Ram/Jeep quality has been slipping as of late but yet nobody seems to address it, very interesting
I do not see that yet. Not anywhere

My Jeep has 66k trouble-free miles on it. The V6 Pentastar is great.
Dude.
@@Jason-Samko Would you own that Jeep if it wasn't under warranty ?
@AlexKosanovich if I had to own a truck out of warranty it would 100% be a jeep gladiator. Parts are cheap and it's easy to fix myself.
ANY TURBO TOYOTA IS JUNK!
TUNDRA OR TACOMA!
I'm on my fourth Toyota truck and I'll never but another one until the bring back the V8 Tundra & V6 Tacoma and fix the RELIABILITY PROBLEMS!! 🤬
So sorry you have to go thru all of this
Just go GM. Chevy or GMC. Not the cheapest, but worth every penny. And if you take care of your vehicle, they hold their value quite well💯♥️🇺🇸🦾🔥
Gm has been rocking it with the new trucks. Love them.
