- Absolutely loving this Billie Bars bed setup!! I think it looks great with the bike and the tent on the truck. This setup had a lot more room than I was expecting, so I'm pretty pumped about that.

Looks nice! I’m doing a similar Billie Bar setup with my bike mount on the driver side and a FSR Aspen Lite SEI edition on the passenger side of my 2021 F-150. I also got the Billie Bars HD brackets to mount the tent. Planning on installing it all tomorrow. Liked and subbed, much love from Texas!
Nice!! Thanks for the like & sub 🤙🏼
@@KnightWheelsMedia got it all installed, it’s so cool!
Thank you 🙏🏻 😊
Thanks for watching!
Love the setup. What type/brand tonneau cover do u recommend with the billiebars? Preferably I’d like a hard tri-fold. Any recommendations?
A tri fold tonneau won't work well with the bars. You'd need to remove the crossbars every time you want to fold it. The best bet for this is a soft roll up cover like I had or the hard roll cover that rolls into the bed of the truck.
How easy is it to load and unload your bike? Would you recommend this for around town riding or mainly long distance?
Not hard with a quick release mount. Main thing is just putting the wheel back on. It's a little more involved than just a bed cover but not significantly.
Might be able to use L brackets using the T track on the sides of the aluminum extrusion. That might keep the bolts from protruding below the billy bars. Would be nice if they had brackets that held the bars a little higher.
They do have an 8” option to have higher bars 👍🏼 I just went with 5” because I like the look better & figured the soft roll tonneau would still function fine
@@KnightWheelsMedia that’s great that there is a higher option. The lower height is definitely better for the aero keeping the tent level with the roof line and most importantly fitting in the garage. Have to say I’m jealous you can fit a truck in the garage. My garage isn’t long enough 😟
Oh I like that!
Thanks man!! I'm digging it
Dope setup!
Thanks 🤙🏼
Very informative, have to say it. Thanks for sharing. Keep goin, my friend. Merry Christmas.
Appreciate it!! Merry Christmas/Happy New Year to you as well 🙌🏼
@@KnightWheelsMedia Thanks Knight. The same to you. :) Drop by.

yes
Thanks for videos! Wish I had found ya sooner!
Love to hear it. Thanks for watching!
Can I ask what side step you have there?
These are the 4 Wheel Parts Tacoma sliders. I believe I have another video about them if you're interested.
@@KnightWheelsMedia I’ll look around for your video but if you have a link that would help too. Thanks!

What boxes are you using for storage on your prinsu rack?
They are Plano boxes. Link should be in the video description
Very nice setup, brother! 👍🤙
Appreciate it!!
If you're using this setup for bikes and you have the tri-fold hard tonneau cover from the dealership, this system will not work. There's not enough room to fit the brackets close up to the cab because the female end that the tonneau cover snaps into is in the way. Just ran into this issue with mine.
Interesting, good to know
@@KnightWheelsMedia I found a workaround. I had to trim plastic on the underside of the cover latch closest to the cab so that it would clear the BillieBar bracket closest to the cab. Then I had to force push the latch into place and now it's holding in place. Kind of a pain in the butt for those of us who are only carrying bikes. I don't see how I'd be able to fit a RTT now though.
Looks good 👍🏽
Appreciate it 🤙🏼
very curious about the body armor tent! why that one over smittybilt?
I worked with Body Armor 4x4 to do an overview/review of the tent on Trail Tacoma 😂
Bro i just recently bought the bike tray and mount. I already put the RTT. do i need to remove again the tent so i can put the bike tray and mount in the bars? Thanks
Not if you have enough room. If you don't, you can probably just loosen the RTT and slide it over a bit to fit the bike mount.
which billie bars you go with? 5 or 8?
I went with the 5" because I like the low profile look. However the 8" ones would be easier for the roll up cover & I think they just made some 8" molle panels that look pretty cool
@@KnightWheelsMedia sweet I’ll probably do the 5 as well cause of MPG and clearance
8
How'd you get the amazon bike mount installed on the BillieBars? Just purchased a set and love your setup!
Basically just a couple of carriage bolts through it and bolt it down. I think I needed to slightly widen the holes in the bike mount to fit the bolts through. It was a little awkward to get it tightened but worked out fine.
fantastic footage. see you on my sie-😊
Thanks!
Do I understand correctly that you have to move the cover out of the way every time you want to mount and unmount the tent? I'm not sure how that would work with a folding cover as opposed to a rolling one.
Not necessarily. It can be removed with the right tools, my impact just wouldn't fit under. A simple wrench (preferably ratcheting) would work. You could also go with the 8" version to make it easier.
Maybe a dumb question, but could you attach the tent using T bolts to avoid the bolt overhang?
Not sure how that would work. You'd have to bolt the tent down from the inside which would be difficult.
It's probably be better to just trim down the bolts a little
You are NOT supposed to use power tools with the bolts for the tent. You could over torque and damage the hardware.
It's not that deep man lol
