    This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a very similar roll up cover and wondered how the Billie bars work around that. Thanks.

    Ha! This is the 3rd time I've found a component, researched it.. And in doing so, ran across your channel. I bought the 5in billie bars last night and buying this cover now. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to access it w the 5in.. I Now see it's a bit of a pain but doable. Thanks brotha! Picking up the RTT this week.

    I went with the KB Voodoo PRO-X crossbars because they are a little cheaper and appear to the be same thing. So far they have been rock solid!

      Good to hear! I'm sure they make a solid product, I just went with BillieBars based on recommendations & good customer support reviews.

    Man I was just looking at these. Was considering a traditional bed rack but I think these would be more useful for when I need to use the truck as a truck. There's another brand of these type bars that people recommend but the Billie bars seem to be of far superior quality

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same reason I switched from a full bed rack. It's much easier to remove the cross members of the bed bars than it is to remove the bed rack if you want to use the bed.
      As far as the other company, I went with BillieBars based on reviews from people I know. They were also a lot better at communication than the other company. I'm really happy with the quality of this setup too, they make a solid product.

    I have the same bed cover (roll up) with the side rails that have the velcro hooks. Viewing this video, it is apparent the two billiebar brackets fit under the cover rails which will leave a gap regardless how tight you cinch down the siderail clamps. So, it is going to allow water intrusion. If I do this to my Tundra, I am either going to place extra weather stripping under the siderails or a strip of aluminum the thickness of the billiebar bracket between the two brackets and at the ends of the rails to allow a snug fit between the cover's siderails and the sides of the bed. Another possible option (I have not explored) would be to trim the side bar (where the billiebar brackets will go under) so there are no gap(s) anywhere. Several others have mentioned concerns about this. So, this is my "theory" on it. 2cts

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For sure. In my experience, water intrusion wasn't really an issue. But you can definitely make it a bit better if you fix the gap.

      Just curious, did u settle on a tonneau cover that works well with the billiebars?

  • @tontoisdrunk

    Good bud and it was exactly what I wanted to see. I’ve been trying to piece together something affordable for bed bars that will keep a RTT at/below the roofline, and have enough room for coolers/totes on top of my Decked system. Getting too old for loading/unloading everything to make camp under the Softopper every time I move!

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This could be a great setup for you then! They have an 8" option as well which would give you more room under the bars.

    So sick. Would it be possible to just mount the Molle panels only and not the cross bars? I have the oem tonneau and wondering if I could do that

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I think that would work as long as you have the brackets. Bars are easily removable too

  • @xxtwobitxx
    @xxtwobitxx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looking sharp, i still have my oem trifold cover so I'm not sure what rack system to go with, I may just have to get a new one

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah with a tri fold you just won't be able to fold it up completely unless you take the cross bars off. You may be able to get the first fold open or at least slightly open though depending on where you put the rear bar.

    I dig the bike mount. Super simple. Do you know if it’ll work with a prinsu cab rack? What size are the carriage bolts?

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not 100% sure if it'd work since the extruded aluminum for the Billie Bars is bigger than the Prinsu stuff. I'm sure you could easily find hardware though. With my Prinsu rack I believe I used 1/4" carriage bolts.

    Hey love the videos. I live in the Central Florida area. I just picked up a Taco. I’m looking to start heading out to the woods and camping. What are some cool areas to camp?

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      most of FL wildlife management areas don't allow dispursed caming. You'll need to check their website to see about options for that or renting a camping spot at a designated campground.
      I think Ocala national forest is your best bet, but it's pretty vast & easy to get lost in so make sure you're prepared & preferably don't go out alone. You can find a few Facebook groups that have groups go out so you can learn the trail system

  • @Colorado_Chris
    @Colorado_Chris หลายเดือนก่อน

    You didn’t discuss the gap now under the sides of the bed cover

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Because it's negligible to be honest. Didn't allow water intrusion or anything because the foam just formed around it well enough.

    Is there any issue with the weather strip lining under the sides of the tannaeu cover after putting the billie bar 5" brackets on? I have a similar soft tannaeu cover (TruXedo TruXport from amazon) and was wondering if you had to cut out any of the weather stripping for it to sit level

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope no issues. I moved around the clamps/mounts for the bed cover to get the best seal possible. The foam just molds around the BillieBars brackets.

    • @KnightWheelsMedia
      @KnightWheelsMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't have any issues with water getting in, it was a relatively tight seal. I think it depends more on the bed cover & what type of foam/rubber is sealing it.
