    Just found a couple of your videos Norman as I'm having neck and shoulder stiffness.....I tried some of your exercises and have to say I already feel a slight relief. I have bad posture from playing the guitar for so many years but I will try and follow your videos and see if I can improve my health. Thanks very much, all the best to you. Ken

      @kenmercermusic, Hi Ken, There are so many yoga techniques that will help you. My "Heal Your Neck Now! with YogaNorman" is very specific to what you are dealing with. "A Very Slow, Very Easy Yoga Sun Salutation" will feel very good to you as it will help to reverse the negative effects bending over a guitar. On my slyoga website this article, "How to Reverse the Negative Effects of Working on a Computer," will deal specifically with improving you circulation and health.
      I need to shoot and publish another technique that I have been teaching in my classes recently. I have had a lot of success using this with musicians, auto mechanics, hair dressers, artists, and computer operators. If you don't see it within two weeks, feel free to remind me.
      I wish you great success with your yoga practice and also with your music. "Fields of Gold" was the first one I listened. Then "Time After Time" and "Scarborough Fair." You not only have talent but a very pleasant and captivating style.
      Please let me know if I may help you further,
      Namasté,
      Norm

      YogaNorman Hi Norman, I will check out more of your videos and your website. Thanks again for your helpful videos and for your kind message. I'm glad you enjoyed my music. Wishing you all the best, Ken

      kenmercermusic Ken, You are very welcome. Remember, yoga is not like playing a sport where you have to be in good shape to play. Yoga is more like learning to play a musical instrument. The more frequently to you practice the sooner and better the results. I am sure that you will do well.....Norm

    Great video Norman ! Stretching up high is a problem for those of us who have a Hiatus Hernia & there is so much in Yoga .

      I'm glad you liked it. So often we don't need a lot of hard workouts, but just some light, easy stretching to keep the joints and muscles loose and pain free.
      Thank you for your comment,
      Norm

    Came across your channel after I heard someone mention the concept of "hand yoga"Great stuff it is, that you teach I have used techniques like this over the years to stretch out as I start my work out at the gym or even just doing similar exercise throughout the day Keep up the good work

      +helibladerunner74 A lot of people suffer from chronic pain when just moving the joints through a range of motion on a regular basis would heal the pain. Thank you for taking the time to share your positive comment.

      Thanks for the feedback Norman . I agree totally with that. Coming from a background of being a competitive swimmer in my youth and then in my later years getting into Martial Arts and learning several different art forms, as well as getting into Ballroom dancing with my wife. There is synergy with all of those along with the teachings that you are so passionate about. , thanks again
      After all it is rumored that Bruce Lee himself was an avid Ballroom dancer

    Thank you for your comment.
    Actually, I teach students how to heal themselves. The better you get in practicing yoga the more you will learn about Self-Healing, Health, and Happiness. Then you get better at relaxing and at dealing with whatever comes in your life.
    There is a lot of free help on my website. You are very welcome to go there also and ask questions if you want more help.
    Blessings,
    Norman

    While doing stretching we should keep deep breathing or what ???

    • @YogaNorman
      @YogaNorman  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      NEHA BLAGGAN Yes, keep the breath flowing as well as you can. Slow, deep, complete breathing from the bottom of the lungs is always a good practice. I wish you success.

    Any thing for frozen shoulder please?

    • @YogaNorman
      @YogaNorman  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Amie Sa Practice in a way that you don't cause more pain. Move slowly and gently in a way that doesn't hurt and then little by little increase the range of motion in your shoulder. When you can raise your elbows to shoulder level, go to "Self-Healing Shoulder Pain with Yoga" on my slyoga website listed above under this video. Practice this technique to quickly reduce pain and heal your shoulder. As you reduce shoulder pain, you will be able to increase your shoulder range of motion. Be patient. Never try to force progress. Practice frequently for faster results.
      Let me know if you need more help,
