I've watched here and there for the past 4 years. At first it was more just the clean professional style that brought me back. But now it's the adventures too. It's so crazy to see how much progression there has been in your outdoor adventures since the beginning. What started as just some typical weekend warrior sport climbing, car camping and loop backpacking is now an alpinist channel. Pretty awesome, way to go you both!
Ayyy! we’re just getting started!! Stay tuned for the next few videos. Gonna be less frequent but hopefully pretty mega! Thanks for being here though. It’s crazy to see how far we’ve come in just a few years. Really trying to keep pushing and create the best mountain adventure channel 🤘🏼
I have so many fond memories of this route. My 1st attempt in 93 guiding a client that got altitude sick. Then climbed the whole thing in 98. The north section has an incredibly fun pitch that is best described as a breaking wave. The west side is easy slab where your feet are. Your hands are on the knife edge ridge, and the east side overhangs about 30-50 feet in a concave wave that drops away 600 feet to matthes lake. I then returned in 2015 and climbed the southern section with a friend who pulled me out of climbing retirement. Great job on the video. I'm glad the algorithm sent it to me.
Loved the video, and actually ran in to you guys coming off Cathedral in the rain! I cannot recommend enough using Roll N Locks while simuling as a safety piece for the leader. I had my 220lb follower slip on easy terrain in Squamish last week and didn't even feel a tug on the rope because I was putting one in every rope length. Stoked to see what you guys get up to in Cham!
I get tired just watching you guys carrying all your gear, let alone the climbing! you two are crazy -lol.,,buts its fun living vicariously thru u both...why are u guys not in the olympics!! amazing shape!

Might seem like a stupid question, but how do you rappel down without leaving gear? Do you just put the rope over a suitable rock where the rope won't slide over the edge and the drag the rope down afterwards?
Depends on the route. Some routes have permanent bolts. This climb has “tat” - or accessory cord / webbing that is left behind. The cord is tied around a tree or rock or anything else stable and you lower off of that. A lot of times you can lower off of “tat” that was left behind by someone else but it’s always a good idea to inspect it to make sure it is not rotting or worn. If it is too worn, typically you would add your own and leave it behind. Good question!
@@codyandvictoria yeh I never thought about it. I loved to bring my rope like a backpack but I'm always... I can't take more stuff. I gonna to find one and try this!
Is there anyway you guys can share the course you made on your watch to get there? I am creating my own course and I got myself to Budd Lake, but I’m not sure where to go from there I’m heading up there on Friday morning
We may not be able to get it uploaded before Friday but I’d recommend going almost all the way to Cathedral Peak then cut off the trail and go cross country towards Echo Peaks and around the right side of Echo. Once you get below echo it flattens out and there’s some grass with a faint climbers trail. Soon after you’ll arrive at the spot where Victoria stopped to talk about Matthes Crest in the video. From there you just B-Line it to the southern-most buttress.
@@codyandvictoria you guys are awesome. I was able to get myself to Cathedral Peak and I see the Brake in the mountain with the traverse right in front. Looks like about a mile away. Thank you so much for getting back to me. You guys inspired me to go do this thing. 😎
Did you leave the ropes on the mtn? How does it work when you’re done? Victoria came down last but there was rope & anchors still up the mtn. I’m so confused
@@codyandvictoria 🤦♂️I’m an idiot. I think I need a “Cody & Victoria teach climbing 101.” If nothing else show the “after the climb” as you work your way down recollecting your anchors.

epically epic.
friggin’ sweet. epic. unreal.
again i ask myself, “what am i doing w/ my life?”
thanks for sharing this! cheers,
Time to start climbing 😛
Love this! What factors went into making the decision to not do the full ridge given that it seemed you were good on time?
Well mostly because our dog was in the van 😬
Ummmmmmmm yeah, this ridge looks scary as SH!T! Definitely not for me, thanks for posting, another great video! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Haha the exposure is pretty intense but the climbing is easy
So rad
Preciate you dude. Looking forward to your next film!
Guess neither of you gets vertigo looking down! Some amazing climbing.
Ha you start to get used to it after a while. That fear of heights goes away a little

Another good video guys.. Do you still edit in final cut... God Bless 🙏
We’ve never used Final Cut but we’re using Davinci Resolve
@@codyandvictoria ok I thought that's what you was using back in a a6500 day's when I started following you.
Dopeeeeeee
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
What brand hoodies are you each wearing?
Cody is wearing Stio, Victoria is wearing… Ridge Merino I think? I’ll need to double check
Did you leave the ropes on the mtn? How does it work when you’re done? Victoria came down last but there was rope & anchors still up the mtn. I’m so confused
You just pull the rope down and it falls to your feet.

There’s two fixed anchors I believe that take you to the ground.
@@jeremysweeten2792 Haha it's a common question
