I think it is great that you guys can make this happen. We now see that, at times, it won’t be easy or go as planned. This is such an inspiration for me. My partner and I just recently discussed my desire to thru hike the PCT and it looks like I'm going to go it solo and he'll be my support person with our kiddo. WOW ! WOW! Ladies, this was an amazing and tough video to watch at times. I thought I was watching a movie and didn't want it to end. I was tearing up with y'all. Ollie look sad like he didn't know why his other mommy was not there. 😔 And he really looked like he didn't feel that good after y'all gave him his meds. I hope he gets well soon. So nice that you can meet up every now and then, what a good idea...the bumps in the road like Ollies mishap wont spoil the trek as you can take as much time off as need be..then off Sarah goes again..and Jess and Ollie hold the fort and catch up with her...Try not to be too sad each time girls, its so lovely looking forward to the meet up and reuniting.

My first solo trip, I was so worried about making it to my destination, I left way to early and arrived too early. Down time. Yes. I have a ton of footage of curious ants on my tent, my feet, the ground, etc. I now download audiobooks. Lifesaver for me.

Thank you for another great video. You may want to carry a few iodine water treatment tablets in a 3gr brown glass bottle in your repair/first aid kit. They only last a year, once open, but going stove less, they are light cheap insurance. Best wishes on your hike.

I love the dual video expression here. I can live vicariously through your videos and love the scenery. You both need to plan what to do with your apart and downtime a bit better. Yeah, our filter clogged on the first day of one of our trips. And we had tested it---at home---just a few days earlier. When those things clog, that's it. No amount of backflush, etc would help. Luckily we had some aquamira tablets that we used for the rest of our trip.

Nice video you guys put together and what an awesome van. I'm getting ready to build one out myself. One thing i find interesting, and i have noticed this in other hikers videos this year. Here you leave on a prime start date in late April and you have Hauser Creek all to your self. Makes me wonder where are the other 49 hikers who have the same start date permits? Obviously not everyone is sticking to their permit start date. Unfortunately that doesn't do a lot to mitigate the impacts along the southern sections of the PCT. the US forest service will get no doubt get wind of this and the permit process will get even more complicated in the future. Its already a major pain compared to just a few years ago.

I know you have said you need a permit to hike the PCT (or at least camp overnight). Do they have rangers or someone that checks for overnight campers to actual enforce this? or certain checkpoints that you can only pass with a permit? Otherwise, how would anyone know if you had a permit or not? Just curious. Also, what were those cloths covering your shoes? What is the purpose? Thanks! Can't wait to see more of both of your journey over the next few months.

Wish you had shown what Sarah packed. What is the longest you plan to be separated? How are you communicating? Is the trek supposed to last about a month? I had an old English sheepdog and she literally got foxtails in EVERY orifice in her body but she never at one. Keep on truckin'.

Wish you had shown what Sarah packed. What is the longest you plan to be separated? How are you communicating? Is the trek supposed to last about a month? I had an old English sheepdog and she literally got foxtails in EVERY orifice in her body but she never at one. Keep on truckin'.
Nooo! Not foxtails!! They are the worst. Hopefully Oliver is fully recovered by now and there wasn't one that he swallowed. Lovely video.
