@9:48 about trade law: a company I worked for had someone with 30 years of experience of import export and forgoten more about those kind of things than most people will ever know. Someone in management thought that he was old business and they cut his position and fired him. In a week after he left every last import was stuck in limbo and everyone building the product suddenly had no work. 3 months of nothing coming in because people didn't know how to do trade law stuff they rehired the guy at four times his salary but he only came in two days a week from now on. The Monday after he showed up a dozen semis showed up and they started shipping packages again out the door keeping the business afloat. The people that do import/export stuff can be so valuable.

I'm guessing it might be more complicated with appearing in videos so to ensure LTT owes an employee nothing they can't appear in videos??? I guess in the US it would be similar to doing contract to hire for 3-6 months to see if and employee works out of not. Or not giving employees benefits until 3 month period. It lowers the employer liability with paying severance, PTO, unemployment benefits if they have those things as policies. It can "get messy" state by state and the laws are a grey area. Canada specifically has a law for those situations. If someone appeared in a video it would probably be a grey area that LTT wants to avoid

How do you know there isn't...? The average staff member is probably more tech savvy than many large corporates 1st and 2nd level IT techs.. Add to that Linus and the other really knowledgably staff and you've basically got a serious cyber security team, just without the titles...
@@dougle03 they lost an entire server that had on going issues for months without any one noticing. They really need to hire a competent IT admin and cyber person. 11:50 the camera and production are very professional yet done in a way I would say feels effortless and like you’re watching a video from a close friend.
The main reason is because they are basically 5 or 6 companies in one. Floatplane, Labs, Creator Warehouse, and most of the other chanels could all be their own company. I mean just floatplane, there's hundred plus person teams to create similar platforms!
It's literally a company. When you get more than a few people you need to start worrying about HR, Finances. Then there's enough people that you need to start getting people doing less broad things to offload others etc etc. Basically if someone spends too much time on something they shouldn't be spending that much time on then you need to hire someone else to do those things. If someone doesn't have the time to only do the thing they're supposed to then you need to hire another person to do that job as well. And numbers go up quickly.
yeah the more employees you have, the more employees you need to make sure they have everything they need to do their job properly. And then there's all the legal obligations a company has to take on as it grows.

So many channels have been switching to those big desktop arm-mounted rode mics and they sound absolutely terrible. Like spending more money on a mic doesn't make the sound magically better, you should know how the mic works and what kind of mic will work best.

11:50 couldn't agree more. Editors are crucial to the process to make great videos but you can only edit so far with SHIT raw. And your guys deliver platinum raw. The shots are awesome. Kudos to those camera guys and their backs.
My biggest takeaway from this is that logistics is understaffed 😅
Severely, I work as an assistant of asset and inventory in my department (Goverment sector) and only cover a few things from the LTT logistic scope and it's a hassle. I can't imagine their workload.
Feel you. When he said stickering, I flinched. Inventory is painful. I am assuming they have tracking on their inventory as well.
@@faithblack3851 aww did you really flinch? did you wince hard from the uncontrollable pain?
Yes, we just spent that morning "debating" how to sticker an item. I now hate the word sticker. I use label...lessens the pain.
80 staff?! This must be a record for any TH-camr. Well, you've worked really hard to achieve this. Well done and best of luck to you and all your team.
News channels!
It’s probably the largest ground-up TH-cam business by many measures, but there are much larger businesses that have moved into the TH-cam space.
Have you heard of Mr beast
Mrbeast...
@@roflmfao4life MrBeast only has 60 employees as of April
11:50 the camera and production are very professional yet done in a way I would say feels effortless and like you’re watching a video from a close friend.
I love these business segments. It's so fun to watch the LTT monster continue to expand and diversify.
GODDAMN, Linus has a larger team for youtube content than our company making automated warehouses. No wonder we feel understaffed
8:12 - Dan is quickly becoming my favorite LTT member. Luke is still up there, but Dan is also fantastic
furry
@@HuntsmanBow astute observation
Dan seems to be channelling Jim Carrey...
He's like a nicer version of Gilfoyle (Silicon Valley). Had me doing a doubletake the first time I saw him on LTT.
Dan my beloved
All I will remember from this video is the employee whose name is Butt.
This makes tons of sense! Thanks for sharing
yeah the more employees you have, the more employees you need to make sure they have everything they need to do their job properly. And then there's all the legal obligations a company has to take on as it grows.
@@John_Bull_ Don't forget 'Dropping things' unless you consider that trolling ;)
Dennis is the funniest person ever. It's good to see him, it's been so long
His last Super fun video at Linus house made me laugh more than anything in years. He's a total goofball, but obviously one of the nicest dudes in the world if even Yvonne will allow him to wreck their home.
That is the most shooter looking desk ever. Every shooting Pit I’ve ever worked in looks exactly like this; 10/10
Production value is so high, the shooters, editors, writers etc all do an amazing job, well done to all
It's amazing how far you've come since the house. Amazing team, you guys really put out great content and I watch it ALL.
That's a lot of money Intel needs to give away for tech upgrade video
true
Well the trick is if they hire faster than they can film upgrade videos then the money never runs out!
Pretty sure it's well worth it on Intel's side, seeing how many people each video reaches.
